I went to Discount Tire 100% because of the kind way they took care of my car when I came by to have my air pressure checked a few times. They were always courteous and helpful, and they never tried to upsell me or be salesy in any way. My two front tires were at 40k miles & 4/10 tread and it was time for them to be replaced so naturally I reached out to Discount Tire. I ordered the tires on Friday afternoon, and on Saturday morning, César called to let me know that my tires were in. I ordered two Goodyear Eagle Sport tires, and I paid $230 per tire plus a small mounting fee. I came by in the afternoon on Saturday and it was quite busy. I had to wait a few minutes before I was helped, but shortly afterward, I left my car in the capable hands of the Discount Tire staff & prepared to wait. Less than an hour later, my car was ready to go with brand new shiny shoes on the front axle. Yay! Everything went really smoothly at Discount Tire and I'm really appreciative all of the guys there who were really hustling to get everyone's cars finished. Stopped here just to fill air in my tires no appointment need and just to let you know they do have a tire service just pull up in the lane on the side of the building you do not have to get out of your car. 08-Dec-2025 We absolutely love Discount Tire for many reasons! The first is they have a special deal where you pay for tire warranty and when you have a flat tire it's fixed with no questions. You will be so glad you have it. We have never hesitated to buy the extra coverage because those flat tires come when you least expect them. We also like that we have sent our car (different cars) about 5 times without an owner. We call for a status update and the tire is usually already repaired. Whether it's a luxury car or oldie they will take care of it. The folks that work here are kind and enthusiastic about the work they do. If you walk in you will be greeted and addressed quickly. I once had a missing nut on a tire and they had an extra one laying around and replaced it. That's great customer service! We will only get our tires from Discount tires. I've always had a positive experience with Discount Tire. All locations I've been to throughout the years have provided excellent service. Like last time, I shopped for and purchased my tires on their website and set my appointment from there. Doing this makes the whole process quicker and easier once you get to the store. When I arrived, I was quoted a 45-minute wait once I checked in, but I got a call about 20 minutes later while at Starbucks saying my car was ready to go. Nice! It is truly worth creating an account with your vehicle and tire specifications on the Discount Tire website. Once that's established, you are given brand recommendations with different price options and current offers. I'd rather do this at home than stand at the counter for who knows how long. Know what? I wasnt going to write this review but i decided to because of so many things. 1. Your worker drops my car when he lowers it on the jack. Near free fall force. Not your car not your problem i get it you suck. 2. Your worker throws away my original tire caps and throws a complete different looking one on, but just one. While leaving the other side capless.. do i know you? I dont deserve this kind of prank im PAYING YOU. 3. Redhead worker waves me off when i ask for a tire pressure check, says they already put air in it... i know thats an obviously lie and sure enough when i get home and check, its 30 on one and 40 on the other. The correct tirepressure is supposed to be 35psi... you guys really terrible, you let people drive off with 10 psi deficit... 4. Yes youre being watched when you work because look at how you work? Unprofessional, dont do what is expected and paid for, and then have this broken appointment system that makes everyone wait hours for you. Daman's excellent customer service made my Discount Tire experience a good one. He greeted me kindly when I entered the store, and when he found out that I had an appointment, he took care of me right away despite the place being packed. This location has lots of parking, a large yet spartan waiting area, and plenty of nearby shops for you to peruse while waiting. Daman inspected my car and patiently explained the process and wait time to get the new tires I bought installed. When I returned about 30 minutes later after shopping nearby, Daman again noticed me right away and updated me that my car would be ready in 20 minutes. My front tire had a quarter inch thick fastener lodged in my tire. I put the spare on my truck to drive to Discount Tire. Promptly, I was greeted as I was getting out of my truck. I told him what the issue was. After taking my information, I left the truck with Discount Tire. They patched my tire for free. They installed the patched tire and put my spare tire back under the truck. This took a little over an hour. I recommend getting there early. When I came back to pick up my truck the shop was in full swing with the bays full and vehicles waiting for service. I picked up my keys and I was on my way. Everyone was friendly and helpful. I have purchased all of my tires at Discount Tire on Midway Dr. since I moved to Point Loma 35 years ago. Today I brought my car in for a tire rotation. I had an 11am appt. When I arrived they initially could not find the appt. For some reason my car was listed under another person's name. After this was straightened out, they told me it would take 50 minutes to complete the rotation. I asked the staff member, who was helping me, to make certain to correct the tires' air pressure since I knew they were all a bit low. I went for a walk and returned 46 minutes later. They hadn't yet moved my car from where I parked it in their lot. So much for having an appt. When I asked how much longer it would take, my car was rushed in and the tires were rotated in under 15 minutes. I was watching the process. I observed that the air pressure was never adjusted. I asked them to do so and they complied. Immediately after leaving the Discount Tire parking area, I stopped to check the air pressure. Two of my four tires were over inflated by 4 pounds of air pressure. I adjusted the air pressure. I also noted that oil was smeared on two of my four wheels. I drove the car home and cleaned the oil off the wheels. In doing so I discovered that one of my wheels was scratched. Since I had washed the car myself this past weekend and the car is garaged, I knew that these scratches were new. Since I could not prove that the scratches were not present prior to the tire rotation, I did not bother contacting Discount Tire. I hope that today's performance at Discount Tire does not reflect new lower work standards at this retailer. read more

5/10/25- I came here as a walk-in today to get my tire pressure checked. As soon as I walked in, someone approached me and showed me where to go. I was happy to find that I don't have to wait for this and they have an area I can go to and someone did it for me. The guy that helped me recommended I get my wheels balanced if I was feeling my drive was bumpy, so they advised me that the wait was around an hour, so I decided to stay. Someone came up to me again, Jaggar, and he helped me get my car lined up for service. Even watching how the employees interacted with customers, it was very impressive. Everyone seems to be on their feet and customers are greeted and taken care of right away. It's been a while since I've been to a discount tire but i've never had a bad experience. I am writing to formally complain about my repeated experiences at Discount Tire located at 3135 Midway Dr, San Diego, CA 92110. I have purchased tires from Discount Tire with the clear understanding--based on their advertising and sales assurances--that tire rotation services are included. However, every time I visit this location to have my tires rotated, I am met with the same discouraging response: I am told there will be a four- to five-hour wait and that there are "50 people ahead of me." This response is given immediately upon arrival and appears to be used consistently as a way to discourage customers from using the tire rotation service that was promised at the time of sale. This has happened not just once, but every time I have attempted to have my tires rotated at this location, including my most recent visit. The message is always the same, regardless of the day or time, creating the impression that the service is intentionally made difficult or inconvenient so customers will give up and leave. During my most recent visit, I was additionally told that my tires could not be rotated due to a so-called "technical issue." This limitation was never disclosed at the time the tires were sold, nor was it explained clearly or transparently beforehand. Had this restriction been communicated upfront, I would have made a more informed purchasing decision. The combination of: Excessive and repeated wait-time claims, A consistent pattern of discouraging customers from using included services, and Undisclosed limitations revealed only after purchase has left me extremely dissatisfied and frustrated as a customer. I believe this practice is misleading and inconsistent with the service commitments advertised by Discount Tire. I am requesting that this complaint be reviewed seriously and that corrective action be taken to ensure customers receive the services that were promised without unnecessary obstruction or misrepresentation. I bought new tires from Discount Tire a few weeks ago since my old ones were bald. They were installed and all was well. This morning my right front tire was down by 10 PSI so I took it in thinking the tire was bad. Unfortunately it wasn't the tire, but the rim of one of the wheels had cracked over time and started letting air leak out of the tire. It would cost $550 for a new wheel from the dealership. Jaggar told me about American Factory Wheel where they can weld the crack closed for half that much. It wasn't his job to deal with it but he helped me anyway and even made the appointment for me on the AFW website. He made a difficult experience so much easier for me. My first time at Discount Tire was a breeze and the staff there made everything so seamless! My tire pressure sensor came on and i suspected that something had punctured the tire. When i pulled up to the place, i parked in the queue for air pressure check. Alec had been the employee on duty when i visited and he was nothing but nice, knowledgeable and informative. He helped me figure out my issue (the tire was punctured by a screw) and he was able to schedule me to get it patched that same day. Shane helped me when i went inside to surrender my key and was also very helpful. They told me it would take about two hours and i had no issues with that. It took less than that time and what surprised me was that there was no charge to fix the patch. I even tried to offer a tip for labor but they refused it. Well, I had a flat tire. Got towed by AAA to this Midway Dr. location. Everything started well. Until they asked what can they do. I said, "flat tire, front drivers side." After they inspected my car. The HARD SELLING started: was told I needed to replace my windshield wipers, then next, my lugged nuts was swollen and they wanted to see if I wanted them replaced. Told them it's was a leased car and I was returning it at years end... asked, "do I need to c change/replace?" He quit move to the next. He told me my tire threads were running low in the front and the back, probably in a couple months need to be replaced. They had a sale that would be for 4-NEW tires. Again, I mentioned it was a leased car; returning at years end. When I asked about my flat tire repaired, he looked at his technician with a smugged look, both hesitated and said, "check that tire". I kinda knew, from the look that they gave each other, it would not be repaired. Long story short. Got a NEW front tire (felt after the time spent and being towed there, had no choice). Another good experience at Discount Tires Midway. This company really knows how to do customer service. I had an appointment at 10:45, and arrived at 10:46. I was first in line and the supervisor verbally acknowledged me and told me somebody would be right with me. I did have to wait about five minutes for one of the representatives to be available. A is very good at his job. I was impressed with the way that he referred to me as Miss. First name, looked up at me from his computer, used my name often, double checked the needs of my car, and followed up with me after he inspected my car to let me know about some tire issues. He did quote me 40 minutes when we started and they truly were done in 40 minutes. Victor followed up with me while the car was still in the service bay, making sure that I was aware of the issues with my tires, asked if there was anything else I needed while I was there, and was very professional. I really do appreciate that when Victor handed me the keys out front, that he first confirmed my phone number, so my car did not get stolen by someone off the street. Unfortunately, there was one very upset gentleman who truly was waiting 20 minutes in line for his appointment. I did get lucky that everything went smoothly for me, but I feel bad for the people who were waiting in line for a while. read more
