This would have put the time frame around late September. In the meantime they demanded the down payment right away and it was paid to them. September came and went and they had not contacted me. I placed several calls and they told me I would have to talk to Jake. After several calls Jake never called. October came and went as I tried contacting them again. It was the same story with the same result. Only when I demanded my down payment back that I got a call. He told me that the new time frame would be within the first two weeks of November. Well...Same story, same results. They are not calling me back and I fear that we are going into winter where the job cannot be done. I am to the point of calling the BBB as well as Kent County if I cannot get my down payment back. This is fraud if they insist on keeping my money for services never rendered. I am so through with them.

The worker will come one day and the job left unfinished for another couple days without any communication. - When we contacted G for updates, he gave many excuse, instead give us clear answers about the schedule - The quality of the work was inconsistent. One room would look great, while another had noticeable gaps and unfinished details. (We had to hire another company to redo that part.) - Make sure to get everything in writing before the project starts. Otherwise, you may encounter unexpected price increases partway through the job.

The initial home consultation with Paul was great. He had tons of samples and showed us many options and gave recommendations based on our needs. There was never any pressure to buy and he spent quite a bit of time going over the whole process and answering all our questions and concerns. We decided a few days later to go with FCI based on our meeting and the fact that their prices were competitive with the other quotes we received. Then things turned South. We were told it would take about 2-4 weeks to get the carpet from the factory. After a month, they contacted us and said that the factory was still back ordered and it would be another month. They were very apologetic and ended up removing the cost of moving the furniture from our bill. The carpet order finally arrived and we were set up for an install on November 3rd. The installers came out and had most of the old carpet ripped out and the new carpet pad laid and started to bring in the new carpet. They started to unroll the carpet and lo-and-behold - not the carpet I ordered! I took pictures and called Erick and explained the situation. He was very sympathetic to our situation and even offered a good discount on this carpet if that was an option for us. It was a nice carpet but we were set on getting the carpet we ordered so declined the offer. We had to live for a month on our 1st floor with only carpet pads for flooring. Not fun! They reordered the carpet and installed it on December 5th. The installation went without a hitch and the carpet looks great. Here's the best part. Sharee negotiated with Shaw Carpets and got them to pay for half of the cost of the carpet. Even though this whole situation had nothing to do with the people at FCI, they offered to cover the cost of the other half. How great is that? Would I recommend this company to my friends and family? You bet! If I need more carpet or flooring in the future you can be sure that they'll be the first ones I call. Thanks Sharee and Erick!
