We recently had Discover Marble and Granite do a kitchen, 3 bathrooms and a fireplace surround. The process was personable and very professional at every step. Everyone we met with and interfaced with was a top tier professional. Terry was integral to our selections. She walked with us and talked with us as we looked at slabs and remnants. She was able to get a feel for what we wanted in each application. She was soon making suggestions that were spot on to what we were looking for. She never rushed us and never tried to convince us that something was right. Her only goal was for us to be more than happy with our choices. Terry was (and is) a huge asset for Discover. The assistance and attention she delivered were invaluable. It is clear that she likes her job and that she is really good at it! Alex managed the job. She strived to keep everything on track. She was always responsive and often helped to make things happen in a timely fashion. Gus did our installations. He did a great job. He spent a lot of extra time making our fireplace surround fit perfectly. His efforts were greatly appreciated. Christina and Victor were very accessible and willing to help solve any problems that arose. They listened and considered all aspects of any situation and responded effectively. After making an appointment with the salesman in charge he kept me waiting for 20 minutes then proceeded to say this is so and so she'll help you. We were trapped there. Horrible. 1. Unprofessional installers did damage to my brand new cabinets. Cabinets needed to be replaced. 2. Cut the hole for the sink the wrong size. Promised to recut a new hole, but did it wrong again. 3. Cut different depths on different sections of the same counter. 4. Brought backsplash to install without any cuts for the electrical. The list goes on. No compensation. Barely any apology. Seriously, use someone else. read more

I had a horrible experience. We visited the showroom and had a junior consultant show us around their warehouse to pick out a slab. I had several questions that cannot be answered. The senior consultants were all just at their desks, but did not seem to want to be bothered. I scheduled another appointment to meet with one of their senior consultants Ben. When my husband and I showed up for the appointment, Ben was not available. We went again through the warehouse picked out stone. I gave the woman who helped us the dimensions and Ben was supposed to get back to us with pricing. It's been a month and we have not received anything. We obviously went elsewhere. We took time off of work for these appointments and it was a waste of our time. read more

Discover Marble was subcontracted to supply and install a new granite countertop in my new kitchen. They emailed me a photo of the granite slab for my project; it was flawless. The issue began when they came to install the counter. There was a big ugly black spot right in the front. It looks like a child scribbled on it with black crayon. I contacted my contractor and Discover. I was told by Jennilee at Discover that they would not replace the counter because they could not ensure a replacement would look any better. They offered me a $500 dollar credit because they agreed that the spot was in a terribly obvious spot. I told my contractor that I would take the credit IF that was truly my only option. This kitchen project cost me $28000 and Discover ruined it. They lied to me and refuse to stand by their product. Beware!! read more

Had them install a quartz countertop. Overall the fit and finish was off in a few areas. They needlessly ground down very visible areas and created unsightly angles and uneven spots. After grinding they didn't bother to polish or seal the rough areas. A section of the counter came undone and had to hire another professional to fix it. This was very much a rush job by this crew. read more

We had a horrible experience with this company. They subcontract for Lowes. Run away from both these companies. We went to see the quartz slab in person and it was beautiful, the problem started with the install. They came with three pieces originally but couldn't fit one in so they left with all three pieces. Two different installers showed up A WEEK LATER and now the piece that didn't fit was cut but now there was a huge gap between the two pieces and the other countertop could not be installed because the cabinets {Also Lowes purchase and installers and a whole other nightmare} were not level. They left took back the cut countertop. Another week passed the original installers returned. Now the pieces fit but the veins in the quartz do not match up and the other larger slab does not hang over correctly. Again another week long wait and when they return the counter kind of fits and there is a large gap at the back which they say is acceptable. I was just tired of the whole ordeal. I have contacted LOWES AND THEY HAVE DONE NOTHING TO DATE. Discover takes no pride in workmanship, you would think an owner or job manager would have come out to see what the problems were but they just don't care. read more

Discover installed a Carrera marble countertop for my master bathroom. Within 3 months it cracked. straight seam down the side of one sink. I called them to come fix it. It literally took up to a year to get them to come back. Only after I posted my complaint on their Facebook page did someone get back to me. They sent someone to "fix" the crack. The person they sent said it was not installed right to begin with. They bonded it back together with I presume was apoxy glue. Still showed a crack but I was just happy to have it pieced back. Now it is separating again. Called another professional who said it can't be fixed it will need to be replaced new. I felt like I flushed $4000 down the drain. I would never recommend this company to anyone! Very shoddy work. read more

Everyone who installed countertops worked great, 5 stars to them. 1 stàr for the office managers or whoever they are: Nicole and Jenlee. Rushed there after work and was rudely told they close at 5:00 I told the front desk woman I rushed over from work that left 30 minutes to look at slabs. The front desk made me wait 5 minutes then took me to the warehouse on the way there she explained to me that they are a wholesaler and usually deal with kitchen and bath companies. I guess they don't like dealing with small local contracting businesses. Told the lady which slabs I liked she wrote the names down and I left by 4:50. I got a quote emailed and they came in at almost double the price of other local granite companies. If you want a snobby judgmental overpriced company this is the place for you. I will not be recommending this place to my realtor co-workers nor any my friends who are renovating their homes. read more

I used Lowe's for my granite countertop and this is their subcontractor - Discover Marble. Don't use with Lowe's or Discover Marble and Granite for kitchen materials. Discover Marble and Granite seemed very nice and personable and the person who came to measure the countertop was very nice and everyone who answers the phone at the company are so nice except Jenny the Lowe's representative. Discover Marble promised that I would not be charged for milling down the backsplash on my order thru Lowe's because Lauren N. at Lowe's in Westborough had us buy the wrong size sink and I specifically asked her if the backsplash would fit with the sink we bought (and she answered yes). So when I told Discover Marble they were not authorized to proceed until I got a detailed breakdown of the costs to mill down the backsplash they said the milling would be free. I was then given one number $2100 plus by Lowe's for the cost of my countertop - no breakdown by materials, labor, or sales taxes and no confirmation that the milling was free. When I asked Lauren N. for a breakdown she said she was not provided that by Discover Marble but would call them to see if the milling of the backsplash was free. When I called Discover Marble I was first told by the woman who answered the phone that breakdowns were always given. Later Lauren N. sent me an email with a new number - $1900 plus - so I was charged originally by Discover for the milling - but again I received no breakdown of how Discover Marble arrived at the $1900 plus cost. When I called Discover Marble to make sure they knew I had canceled by order Jenny (the Lowe's representative answered) and she said to me "I don't know what breakdown you are looking for" - which is unbelievable. Every consumer deserves to know what they are paying for - including materials, labor and sales taxes. I called another granite company in the Millbury/Grafton area to confirm that in this business a breakdown of materials, labor and sales tax are provided and not just one number. This is an unconscionable business practice by Lowe's and Discover Marble. read more

I won't use them again. There workmanship is fair. The installers gouged my cabinet and the back splash was nicked. Also, they broke off a piece of trim and "fixed" it by caulking it to the wall but never took the nails out so the trim is uneven. To top things off after they forgot the back-splash I had to wait for them again to return. The manager promised they would come within a certain window so I wouldn't have to take more time off work. He came 11/2 hours later! read more

RUN!! Purchased granite counter tops from Discover and not one step of the process was on time according to what I was told from their employees. A few times my appointment was "lost" or "never scheduled." They take several days to return phone calls and are extremely unprofessional. I have been contacted numerous times by different people without an explanation as to why I don't have the same point person rather than repeating my problem over and over. Aside from the extreme difficulty just getting the job completed, it was done poorly. There were 3 chips in my counter top when it was installed. It was going to take a MONTH to get someone to fix it until they finally agreed to "squeeze me in." Even after buffing the chips, there are noticeable grooves in the granite. Save yourself a headache - go somewhere else! read more

Discover M & G staff from Mass. was horrible! Spoke to 2 people who never relayed the messages I had left. One Rep. Wouldn't let me speak, and kept adding B.S. to her spiel. When installation time came my Quartz had long, deep marks on it, so they proceeded to "buff" it out, which left bigger marks. Took that piece out and back to the store, but in the mean time, I found several marks in the other 3 sections of quarts. What a run around! read more
