I apologised profusely, and rescheduled a few days later. I received a call saying they would not honour my new appointment until I paid the fee. After years and thousands of dollars of product and services, this is not the sign of a top quality shop. I do not mind paying the fee, but do not feel good about their approach. This review is way over due, but one I felt the need to share. Google is a great source for many things, one being - reviews. It was the wonderful reviews, that snagged me (like to many other reviewed salons). I was expecting a cut and nothing more - not what I asked for, not for someone to actually listen, not for input/advice, not for friendly banter, just a simple haircut. I actually received a style I've been longing for, recommendations on bang length, curl/wave/body kept and styled, to make me feel beautiful. Came back again (a few months later) for enhanced grey coloring/touch ups. Cassie combined several grey tones and worked her magic. The next day though, is telling of true magic (the washing of my hair). Two nights later, I washed my hair using my fav Lush product, slept on a wet head, awoke to lush, soft curls and a near to perfect shag.

Shortly after, the manicurist with whom I had booked my appointment briefly acknowledged me, saying she would be with me soon. Around 1:10 PM--over 20 minutes past my scheduled time--I was finally escorted to her station. At that point, I mentioned that I had a combination of gel and dip powder on my nails and asked whether that would be an issue. In hindsight, I recognize this is something I should have clarified before booking, and I'll be more mindful of that going forward (not at this salon). The manicurist told me she hadn't brought the tools required to remove dip powder and began discussing the situation with the technician beside her. One of the first things her colleague asked was, "What time is your next appointment?" They then reviewed her schedule on her phone and concluded there wasn't enough time to complete my service--despite the fact that the delay was on their end, and we were already well into my appointment slot. Throughout this exchange, they spoke quietly among themselves rather than directly addressing me. Feeling dismissed and frustrated, I got up and went to the front desk to ensure my card on file wouldn't be charged, as the salon requires credit card information when booking. The receptionist, who appeared visibly irritated, reiterated that there wasn't sufficient time for the service. When I pointed out that my appointment had begun over 20 minutes prior, she curtly replied, "Well, that's because that was the club owner." The implication--that the owner's time was more valuable than that of a paying client--was both baffling and disappointing. The lack of professionalism and communication left me with a deeply negative impression. I sincerely hope this feedback encourages more respectful treatment of all clients, regardless of their status.

Sylvie listens to what I want and when I ask for suggestions she tells me what she thinks will work. The terrific thing is that when I follow her suggestions, she's right! She cuts my thin hair so well that if looks fuller. She knows her stuff! She's terrific with color and even obliged me when I wanted pink and blue in my hair. The salon is pretty and spacious. Comfortable seating. Sylvie is a fantastic stylist. Some friends go to other stylists here and they always look good, but I love going to Sylvie. Need a new do? Give Rumors a try.

I had scheduled a hair consultation with Andrew just a few days ago, and he got me in very quickly. Although I was orignally scheduled for just a hair consultation, Andrew kindly did my hair on the same day! I walked in mostly blonde with about an inch of brown roots coming in. I wanted to be mostly my natural, brown color, and leave a little blonde in for dimension. Andrew did exactly that! He also gave me a little trim, and my hair has never felt so healthy! We had wonderful conversations - Andrew made me feel very safe and comfortable. When he was washing and blow drying my hair, I was so relaxed I almost fell asleep. If I ever need my hair done again, I will certainly come back. Thank you, Andrew! Please don't ever change!
