** I don't know how this has changed, but the old reviews from when he was here (2023) have been deleted. they said similar things to my sons experience with staff. 2023 march. son was here. he didnt suffer from an ED, which is what this place specializes in. He refused school. they put him in the younger group, he refused to eat anything because of how nasty the food was. the owner, maria, had conversations with the younger group- practically staring at him, because someone else was sexualizing everything. it was not him. he was pressured, and on edge while there about anything he did. his therapist told him "you're ruining my damn peace". the staff were good there though. they did a full body inspection, looked internally- no consent given by us or him. they took til 7pm to give him his medication one time. scenarios- one staff (latisha i think) grabbed him by the arm and pulled him, because he didnt want to sleep in a room with someone who was threatening to kill him. he moved out of his room, and then the kid who was threate him back then, got moved into my sons new room, again! Bullshit! They roomed him with a girl who was 2 years younger than him, and was very anxious and silent when near him. he has heat induced sleep paralysis, and because he was on the "younger kids schedule" he had to sleep right before bed. couldn't sleep any other time. he has plenty of trauma here. he would burst into tears when he saw us. we were only allowed to see him on sundays. NO communication otherwise, that wasn't managed. His mental health declined drastically, and he ended up avoiding public from this. Money and months wasted. they did NOT care or accommodate. except the people who had no say or 'power' over anything. read more

I'm a past patient of the Discovery Mood and Anxiety program and I hated it with all my heart but I can't speak the truth because I didn't want to hurt the staff's feelings my favorite staff members were Charles, Ellie, Rah, Sam, Lyne, Allison, Ashley, Delly and Dolores they are cool and awesome and I would not like them to know how much I hate this place. 4 stars. would not go again. staff made this place a little more not as dookie read more

When I went to the Discovery in Stamford the staff were nice because they cared about the kids do and done to the place and their self. They cared about when a kid went outside without asking a staff because the kid need some space but they couldn't be out of sight because it is danger for the kid and for the staff. The staff have change in the pass couple months that I went to the place. There is this one staff name Samantha Basilone that was really nice to the kids because she cared about her job and she cared about the kids. She was a really nice staff member because she always checked on the kids when they were sad or in a bad mood because of somethings that went on in their family meet or at the place. She knew this one kids that had some hard time with other people and new staff member and she was on his side and she helped him every day and every night. He got better over time because of the staff member Samantha Basilone because she build his trust because his was scared that the staff member were going to leave because of what he did at the house. read more
