As a new patient I assumed there would be paperwork. No one was in the office and the door was locked. When I saw the lights come on at 7:58, I tapped on the window to get into the waiting room and the receptionist hollers at me "you have to wait two minutes until we open." What? I can't sit down? When you are sitting right there to let me in? (2) I came to the doctor with a need for a urologist, a neurologist, and a therapist. I am having some female issues and I was hoping she could give me a recommendation for a urologist. She looked at a picture I had from a previous surgery by a world renown doctor and said, "You have a prolapsed bladder." Huh? I have been to many doctors, urologists, and gynecologists and none of them have ever indicated that I have a prolapsed bladder. (3) I have severe endometriosis and told her I had had an endometrial nodule in a sensitive area. She said that wasn't possible until I showed her a picture I had of my insides from the doctor. Didn't have much to say after that. (BTW, the world renowned doctor is Dr Salgado in Puerto Rico. He is a Harvard lecturer on endometriosis. (4) I don't appreciate Christian prayers being displayed in a consultation room. If those are your beliefs, that's fine, but I don't need you to put up a poster about being a good Christian business woman. (5) I asked for standard bloodwork as this was an initial visit. I also need to get the levels of some of my meds monitored. She was reluctant to run a standard A1C, Glucose, Liver, Thyroid test although the size are SOP for a new patient. She told me that if I needed blood work, she would do it "this time," but in the future I needed to contact the doctor that needs the results and get a blood test through her. Why?!? When she decided she would do the blood tests, she couldn't find the form to send with me to do the tests *sigh* I will not go to or recommend this doctor.

I love Dr. Cavallo's office…read more I came here for an evaluation after I hurt my knee and went to Stamford Hospital ER and they told me I sprained my knee. A week and a half later my knee still didn't feel right. I made an appointment to go to Dr. Cavallo. He was real thorough. After he did the test. He diagnosed me with a torn meniscus in my right knee, he even said you can get a second opinion if I would like. He does a lot of them, he him self has even had the surgery. I was very surprised since Stamford hospital was so off with my diagnosis. Dr. Cavallo actually did my surgery and I was very nervous because this was my first surgery. He put me at ease and did my surgery perfectly. Recovery was long and one of the toughest things I've had to do through no fault of his. I also started physical therapy in the same office with James Caroleo and he and his team who have also been wonderful. I would highly recommended Dr. Cavallo office for your orthopedic needs.

(Right shoulder repair, left knee arthroscopy). I enjoy coming in to see Doc as he answers all my questions and is extremely thorough. We have always talked all options prior to surgery and I have never not felt comfortable with his opinions. He's got a great personality, is super friendly and I have recommended him to many of friends and loved ones. There are plenty of doctors out there who may get the job done, but if you want to feel like you truly matter and that you are in good hands......there's only one thing to do.....call Doc today and you will understand exactly what I mean. I was desperate…read morefor help, new and naive to having independent insurance, and thought my insurance would cover most of the (as I now know) ridiculously overpriced sessions. I was charged out of pocket a "sliding scale" amount of $325 (which was still more than full price as far as any other therapist would go) promptly to my credit card after every single session, and at the same time they filed a claim with my insurance for the full price $500. This is double billing, which if not out right illegal is at best shady. When I called my insurance I was informed of not only this wrong doing, but that as standard practice, a provider, out of network or not, who files claims with an insurance is not supposed to charge anything to patient until it has been processed through insurance. Further more, I was informed per my insurance's regulation they are only allowed to charge me ~$60 a session since they filed claims and thus entered into a contract with my insurance. I have called them twice with a representative from my insurance to explain in no uncertain terms what the situation was and to give them a chance to refund me. This was met with polite stonewalling nonsense that "they were not obligated to my insurance's laws because they were out of network." When I emailed them with extensive proof of my insurance's legal policy for out-of-network providers that shows that they legally can only charge 15% more than my insurance's allowed amount, I have been met with crickets. Since they have refused to refund me, per the advice of multiple representatives, I have filed a fraud suit with my insurance. As for my experience with the actual people, I had an incredibly brief "intake interview" with the Dr. Zackson, who's primary mission seemed to be getting off the phone with me as soon as possible instead of listening to my symptoms, I was pushed to take a male therapist when I'd explicitly expressed I wanted a female one. Outside of this, all the employees I came into contact with were polite, helpful, and seemed compassionate. And though I did not want a male therapist, I found use and made progress in the therapy I received before stopping treatment. But I cannot excuse this blatant exploitation of the vulnerable and the incredible audacity to continue to spout nonsense and withhold my money (which I desperately need as a self-supporting college student) when they are being confronted with the obvious reality of their wrong doing from multiple authoritative sources. Absolutely insidious behavior for a practice that claims to be about helping people.

THEN explain that you take very few insurance policies and you want to make sure the patient is covered. Perhaps this is a very small detail to most, but you are caring for human beings with real medical issues who want to feel like they matter. Asking one's name takes very little time. And most likely, most of your potential patients have already checked with their insurance company to see if you take their insurance.

Overall I believe dermatology offices can become quite busy since they not only conduct assessments but have to perform lengthy procedures depending on their patients' needs. I just came back from a facial with Carmen, who works with Dr. Evans. Her technique and room is kept neat and clean. I felt nurtured and relaxed from my treatment. I believe she has been in this line of work for 35 years. It was nice that throughout the facial she asked if I was comfortable. Also, I was pleasantly surprised that while I was waiting for my face mask to dry, I also received a lovely foot treatment as well. I highly recommend Carmen.

Beware Dr. Paul Tomaszewski. He is fake all the way through but plays it close to the vest. Even…read morehis scheduler does not know that when telling a patient he will perform shoulder surgeon, he has no such intention but is too (pathologically) scared to reveal this to the patient and tells his well-meaning scheduler to schedule a high radiation CT scan. The only glimpse of the truth the scheduler gets is when asking the patient if Tomaszewski discussed the results of the test and learns he has not. T. strings his patients along when showing up for supposedly pre-surgical visits, maintaining his friendly facade, one of smiles to conceal ill-intent, not being at all specific about the procedure he supposedly is going to perform. When everything coalesces as irregular and the patient asks this provider if everything is okay, not a word is revealed that no surgery will be done. Nothing is okay when complicated shoulder surgery is involved. He comes up with one delay after another. Patient services tries to help the patient but he fakes out patient services too. When trying to make progress and ask if the provider's PA can be present in the appointment, the disingenuous response is that his PA sees his patients by himself. Patient relations called the PA to arrange an appointment with the PA who admitted that he does not meet with any patients independently. Dr. P.T does not want the PA to know that he never explains anything about the procedure or what to expect. When asking to buy equipment sold in company store, Tomaszewski says only he can bring the patient to the store and he sees patients and there's no assistant to fill in when he knows all along that there is an equipment rep that he is supposed to tell the patient about. The equip rep learned of his story and was perturbed. Tomaszewski has no role. He tells patient relations who the patient needs to contact to confirm the culminating pre-surgical visit will occur, because he won't return a patient's phone call, he tells patient relations to tell the patient they do not have to show up. The patient must to learn how to proceed and finally learn details about surgery. Once there, the provider alleges he did not return the call as he knew the patient would show up. He is evasive about his past experience with the procedure in question. In fact he's evasive about his background, having come from a factory-style NYC hospital to work in a holistic environment. He keeps saying surgery will happen so the patient doesn't make other plans but gets worse during the season-long wait until he sends a surgery order replacing visit notes which states to feel free to call before surgery if any questions and then when calling he admits the claims on the order are wrong and he is not performing surgery. The patient learns NOTHING from him. I invested much time making all of the arrangements for surgery, then having to apologize to all my helpers. The only way to talk to him is in an appt. He says he refuses to look at or respond to portal messages but his scheduler reveals he gives him his portal messages daily and he reads them. He won't respond. The secretary confirms he reads them every morning. Recent development: Someone new at ONS. Her name is Barbara Santoro. She's strictly administrative, also having worked in NYC typical impersonal style environment and unfamiliar with what distinguishes ONS in general, save for Tomaszewski and now her. In contravention of patient relations' genuine role of patient advocacy she believes when a provider engages in misconduct, the victim of it should be banned. She learned patient services is trying to intervene in recognition of a problem with this provider. Santoro, totally out of place at this office, acting to change its nature and undermine just moved this provider to a new location, rather than arrange his discharge. This worsens the problem. Now a new group of patients will be subject to his deceptions which are known and about which he has been spoken to. She discharges the victim who lost months, went along with fakery, showed nothing but respect knowing something is wrong. She ensured that he can victimize more because he brings in money at least for 1 appointment, never mind the right provider is there, and providers at the same place recommended others to me who can help. She canceled my appt with one to ensure I am denied help and the problem provider is protected, meaning patients are at risk. She ensures you're denied care, a 1st for this place, and that a problem provider is retained. Don't seek help when you discover any provider's irregularity here. With Dr. T it won't show on the initial visit. Just don't do a CT scan. You won't have surgery. Just see another. No matter how much harm this provider does, Sanoro's agenda is to protect him and remove the insightful patient. Don't be fooled by her asking you about the problem. It's not to help but undermine you.
