The American Cancer Society Discovery Shop is one of my regular thrift store stops. Located in a strip of shops on W. Market you will find one of the nicest upscale thrift stores. The shop is medium sized, nowhere near some of the big stores, but what you will find is really high quality items at a great price. The Discovery Shop has a nice if not huge selection of clothes, they have just recently expanded the men's area in the back to allow for more variety. Most of the items are high end and usually very current. Where the Discovery Shop really shines is the selection of art, decor and interesting items. It seems that they get more upscale donations then most thrift stores, plus they are raising money for a great cause. Other items include books, media, all kinds of kitchenware, plates, glasses and jewelry. Prices are reasonable, what makes it even better is that they have a 50% discount color every week and the last weekend of each month the entire store is 50% off. Over the years I have found some really nice sports coats and a number of carved wood items at the Discovery Shop. Well worth a stop to check out if you are looking for some great items at good prices, plus it is great to support the American Cancer Society. You never know what you'll discover at the Discovery Shop! A high-end thrift gem where all proceeds support cancer foundations. The volunteers are wonderful, and the finds are always great--no wonder it was my Nana's favorite place to shop. I scored big today with their 50% off sale. Best place to shop for resale clothing in the area !!! The place looks like a boutique and the staff are all very accommodating...even through they are primarily volunteers...or maybe BECAUSE they are primarily volunteers !!!!! It's my #1 "go to" for great bargains and a fun shopping "fix" !!!!!! read more

Love the staff and like the variety of inventory that I find in the store. Never found a damaged item and the clothing is clean. I also purchased some childrens books but there is not a large selection of those. Overall great shop!! read more

Go the end of the month when all is 50% off. You can get nice shoes, clothes, pictures for the wall, China, purses, jewelry. The staff take pleasure in displaying things nicely. Meals on both sides of store and bathrooms too. read more

Out of all the thrift stores I've been to, the Discovery Shop is by far the best one I've been to. The volunteers there are so helpful and kind. The prices are fair too. I love going there and I would definitely recommend the Discovery Shop to anyone looking for a great store to spend their afternoon at. read more

You have a wonderful store but your volunteers need a lesson in phone etiquette. I called to check your donation hours and I knew what time they close but was not sure of the actual time for donations. She said in a gruff voice 10:00 and hung up. I tried to say Thank You but all she did was hang up on me. I realize they are volunteers but there is a lot to say about your Shop and I wonder how they treat the in store customers at times. read more
