You get to the place and put your name in the list to wait for a table to be free, but I was lucky enough that the table was ready while I was choosing what to paint. They have so many different things available, both with purpose or just pretty as a paper weight hahaha All colors imaginable. Stencils. Supplies that I don't know what they're for but someone with a speck or art knowledge I'm sure would appreciate Staff is super friendly and patient. You can bring anything you can buy in a grocery store. Just make sure you ask the price structure upfront because there's the price of the figure, plus the amount of time you're there. My teen daughter went to the studio with an expired $100 gift certificate and requested the staff/owner if it can be honored and they said YES. She spent more than an hour painting and finally during checkout they refused to accept the gift certificate nor did they return the certificate to her and kept it for INVOICE purposes. Such a nice way to cheat a teen kid ‍. When I called the studio to ask why they were doing this the so called OWNER and staff kept giving different stories, staff said they will give $25 gift card now and immediately RUDE OWNER took the call saying we won't give anything for an expired certificate. Despite me asking nicely why they are going back on their own words from an hour ago, the owner said she can't be responsible for her staff, wonderful !!!! End of long story $100 in their pockets and gift certificate also with them to show false invoicing. Wonder how many more people they are cheating like this or how many false invoicing is done on a regular basis. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER, don't go here and find a better place. read more

We had a lot of fun at Dish It Out! They open at 10am on Saturdays and we got there around 10:15. We were the second group there and shortly after, the place filled up! So I would recommend going early to get a table. They have a TON of pottery pieces to choose from including plates, vases, seasonal decorations, piggy banks, spoon rests, I mean you name it & they have it. I chose a Christmas plate for my son to put cookies on for Santa. You choose your own paint and have the freedom to kind of do what you want. They also have paint pens for more accurate drawing or writing words, you just have to ask up front. FYI - it takes up to 30 days to get your pottery back from the oven which I thought was quite a long time. Can't wait to see the finished product! read more

Such a fun afternoon! Located in stonecrest shopping center with plenty of parking. Christmas music was playing in November. Upon entering, a staff member quickly approached us to make sure we knew it was $6 a person an hour to paint and it was a 30 day turn around for items. I'm glad they had this transparency and it made me feel welcome! There are plenty of tables to choose from and the employees were quickly cleaning tables when people left to clear up space. It was busy when we got there but we still found a table. They have so many different pieces to choose from for both adults and children. Piggy banks, animal figurines, plates, bowls, mugs, ring holders, seasonal pieces etc. I loved the selection of Christmas pieces in November! They also have examples of some pieces so you can get ideas. Many paint color options, different brush sizes, puffy paint, pencils to help sketch, water and napkins to clean brushes, sponges to help with designs, stencils, a binder of ideas etc. The employees were willing to help with a baby's footprints and she even drew an outline of an object we were trying to draw. This was so much fun and a great way to spend an afternoon! This place has been around for years and has changed ownership but looks the exact same inside!! I love it! The prices have definitely gone up which is why they didn't earn 5 stars. For 2 people to paint for an hour, a painted salad plate and a Christmas tree plate (that was the size of a salad plate) it was almost $90. We were asked to tip in addition to that which we did. There's so many different cute pottery selections to choose from, I wanted to paint all of it! The prices were reasonable, and it's such a fun and chill time of simply painting pottery and having an ample amount of colors to select from. We have had a trip to Dish It Out on our radar for a while now, and while nearby, figured it would make a fun Christmas activity for the family. We were right! Is it a bit pricey? Yes, but you're making the choice to go here and have access to all of this in one place, without having to go and purchase it, and without making this mess in your own home. It is especially nice that they bake and gloss the items for you. They also clean up your mess for you. So, you're paying for more than just your time there. It was a therapeutic and relaxing experience. We left having made a lasting holiday memory. We haven't picked up our items yet, but I will update and add photos when we do! This place is amazing!! It's fun for all ages and sexes! They charge $6 per hour studio fee and max out at $12 which is great! They have a wonderful selection of items to pick from. They are also food safe! I have to admit that the second last time I went there I was really mad because a girl broke the bowl I had made the time before!! I was so mad!! A very nicely rum operation. Have been here a number of times with grandchildren, who really like this as an excursion, especially on rainy days. Clean and well-organized, A. D. is the floor manager and is totally on-top of the operation. People enter and shop for the already cleaned and bisque fired pieces. Prices vary from a few dollars to over $30. Very extensive selection to choose from. Then your group sits at one of the many tables to "paint" or glaze your pieces. There are squeeze bottles of glazes to choose from. Samples of each glaze are displayed for each, so pick your palette. Brushes, a dish of water and small tiles are at each table so that you can squirt a dollop of glaze on to the tile and use your brush to apply each glaze to your piece. This is totally self-serve and easy to figure out. Even young ones around 5 years old do quite well. Bring your finished pieces to the front desk to be listed and described and to then pay for your play. In addition to the bisque pieces there is a $6 per person charge for each hour you spend in the shop. Maximum is $12. A week to ten days later you can pick up your fired pieces. Three months ago, while I was there, I purchased 4 large plates to paint for family for Christmas. I took them home and drew out what to paint and returned to begin painting. I was asked if I had the receipt. I said no, this was three mos ago and I wasn't told I would need it. Then with attitude and snottiness I was told they haven't carried those plates for years and she should know- she's the manager! This really took me back how I was spoken to and so I started to leave. THEN, again with attitude and snottiness, she said goodbye and you have a great day. This was a horrible and very unexpected way to be treated, especially by the manager. Unfortunately, I am unable to find how to go above her to lodge this complaint so this is the best I can do. Ive never had a problem before but never dealt with her. So, please be sure to keep and bring your receipt whenever you leave with an item you plan on returning with or you will be mistreated. read more

So so much fun!! My family and I did to-go kits to do at home while they visited from Ohio. It took several days to get items back once you drop them off to get fired and glazed so unfortunately my family could not take theirs back with them. I absolutely love this place. I have been 9 times and cannot wait for my 10th. I usually go on off hours so I have my Zen moments and quietness to be in my zone. There are so many pieces to pick from so paints and when I have a question the staff is there to help me figure out what kind of pattern or type of mixture I might need to make. A few weeks ago when it was POURING rain, my daughter (almost age 4) and I attended "Toddler Tuesday" to make Valentine's Day gifts for my daughter's Godmother (my SIL) + grandma (my mom)! We had an absolute blast!!!! I needed to get out of the house on this rainy day, and my toddler needed to burn some creative energy before errands! It was sooo much fun, only takes an hour (but you can stay longer like we did as it was so much fun), AND we left knowing we had created two awesome personalized gifts for family! The owner is so kind and amazing and I promised I would give a shout-out for her. :) I have limited creative bones (I'm an Amazon prime type-mom ;) and she + her amazing staff helped us so much to make perfect Pinterest-type gifts! I was almost too embarrassed to post the pic here of the aftermath. I started cleaning up and the owner stopped me, and said she and her (amazing) employees would take care of it. I was still too embarrassed and resumed cleaning up (that's my personality LOL); the owner kindly asked me AGAIN to stop cleaning & explained they actually prefer to clean themselves as they properly wipe down the brushes etc. Basically, I was told to STOP CLEANING up after my kid!! =) Woo hoo!!! I handed over her messy apron, they helped me clean her hands in their wonderful huge sink (with soaps and everything), and away we walked to Target and to continue our fun rainy-day! I drove 20 minutes to pick up my children's pottery, not realizing they were closed on Wednesdays. I saw two ladies in there and held up my slip thinking it would be very simple for them to just hand me the bag. This place is AWESOME and brought back a ton of childhood memories for me. I went to Dish it Out while visiting a girlfriend who moved down south for work. As a kid, we had a place like this in our town and had birthday parties all the time. It resulted in a bunch of ugly pottery but a ton of fun. Absorbed with my childhood memories, we stopped in one afternoon for a painting and pottery session. The staff was extremely helpful especially for me. Not only did we have the option to paint pottery but we also could do glass fusing or glass mosaic. Being that I'm a bit of an artistic spaz, I chose a simple dish that i've now turned into a much needed earring holder. After a few hours of painting fun, we were starved and left our works of art and left them there to be fired. After a very delicious meal we popped back in to pick up the pieces. Recently took my kids here and had fun but when I picked up our stuff one of the items was broken. When I said something the girl informed me that they would not have wrapped it broken she than told me that all she could do was glue it. So she did and than proceeded to put scotch tape all over it. It was almost a bad comedy skit I was very disappointed with the whole situation I spent a lot of money to get some broke taped up glued ceramics. There are so many different potteries for you to choose from I don't know if it was just the time I went but there but they were out of most of the animals and creatures. Just picked up our pottery and they had marks all over them- that 'couldn't be fixed' and ultimately I was disappointed with how everything looked. In total it cost 42 dollars and I couldn't be more upset about the process. My sister recently went to a shop called the Painted Peacock, which was much better in her opinion. Nevertheless if you do choose to go to Dish it out, I hope you will be able to have a better experience than I did. read more

My daughter had a very small birthday party there this past Sunday. I had never been there before and was unfamiliar with the process. There were 5-6 teenagers working that afternoon just socializing at the front counter. I came to ask them a question and they all appeared annoyed that I was interrupting their conversation. When one of them finally did come to help us she really did not make things any clearer for us. My friend took her daughter there the Monday before Christmas as the kids were out of school, she had the same experience. They have a line for a tip on the receipt and because all six of the teenage girls present offered little to no help at all I just scratched right through it. My friend who came the Monday before Christmas said she did the same on her receipt for the same reason. The tip line made both of us giggle when we saw it. All adults present were joking about how we wish this job was around when we were teenagers. Very disappointed! read more

Took my son & my nieces here over spring break to get everyone out of the house. Studio time for the four of us was a bit pricey after you added in the cost of each one selecting an item to paint. Everyone had a great time, though, and they were very nice and understanding. My youngest niece (5) picked out what we thought was a small vase -- and instead turned out to be one the cups out of a sake wine set. I didn't discover this until she dropped and broke it (in the process of painting it) and we went to see if there was another one on the shelf. I pointed out our mistake to the employees behind the counter, expecting to be told I was going to have to pay for the set (including the piece she broke). In addition to NOT charging me for the whole set (that she had now broken in more ways than one), they didn't even charge me for the individual piece she broke....just told me to have her select another piece and only charged me for that 2nd piece of pottery.
