I viewed them near Small World, as always, it was a great show! They know how to put together a great VFX show; I will say that this one is a bit more VFX and less on the fireworks, and it may be a minute or so shorter (I'll clock it next time), but regardless you will not be disappointed. :) read more

After a full day of walking around and riding rides, watching the firework show is my favorite way to end the day. Disneyland has always put on a great firework show. They choreograph music to it which really adds to the magic of it. The fireworks go off behind Sleeping Beauty castle a couple hours before the park closes. Growing up, we would always grab ice cream at Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor and stand on Main Street, U.S.A. to watch the show. Disneyland Forever! Fireworks is one of the best night time events that is offered at Disneyland. Currently the show is at 9:30 P.M. A lot of people will start gathering at main street and in-front of the castle as early as 5:00 P.M though for seats. My family and I ended up watching the fireworks near the Small World ride. We had a great view just after we rode the Matterhorn Bobsleds. The songs that we saw through the light projection off of the Small World was the following Lion King Frozen Jungle Book Nemo Tangled The fireworks are absolutely dazzling. The music and sound was wonderful. Disney selected awesome soundtracks from their previous movies to use during the Fireworks. There are several locations for this event throughout the theme park. You can be at Main Street which will display the movie scenes across all of the buildings, in-front of the Cinderella castle, and in-front of It's a Small World. I prefer it's a Small World as there are typically less people. The fireworks are amazing!! You should at least try to stay until 9:30 at least once to see the fireworks! read more

My friend, Craig was right. He said that I should come back to Disneyland in December when all of the Christmas decorations were up. I told him that I saw the holiday decor ten years ago. He said everything is different now... oh, yeah. .. Craig is right. .. Because of technology, imagination, and Disneyland's continuous improvement, the current Fireworks show is amazing. We sat in front of Sleeping Beauty's Castle, on the street. .. There are great views from the ground since you're looking up as the projections are shown on the castle and the fireworks appear behind, above and at the sides of it! The songs brought back happy memories and gave me "chicken skin" aka Goose Bumps! The bright colors, patterns of various fireworks, and blinking lights along with the heat (feel it on your face! ) from the huge flame throwers combined for an elaborate experience! Watching Nemo swim in the sky where Tinker Bell had just flown is one example of the many surprises in this show. It's no wonder that crowds form early to save a spot. Bring your blanket and snacks. ..relax and have fun! ! Enjoy the show...it's so worth it! !! read more

MAGICAL!!! Best Disneyland fireworks show ever, by far! Tinkerbell starts it off by flying over the castle, just like in the Disney movies! Bright, beautiful, loud and spectacular.... even the castle has graphics as does the Matterhorn. It's really an amazing show. All kinds of fun and surprises, it's a MUST SEE for anyone. Make sure you can see the Castle, Main Street and the Matterhorn from wherever you are standing/sitting.... or the best you can anyway. Date of visit: September 5, 2016 Walt Disney intended the fireworks show at Disneyland to be a kiss goodnight to the park attendees - and the Disneyland Forever! Fireworks show for the 60th Anniversary definitely delivered throughout the celebration. Imagine a fireworks show that also incorporates video images projected onto the Main Street buildings (best view of the night, IMO), the Matterhorn, Sleeping Beauty Castle, and It's a Small World (where we were at the preferred viewing area for Paint the Night our most recent visit)... kinda like World of Color, minus the water show. Although the show is called Disneyland Forever!, I wish they talked more about the park's history via classic footage... but don't get me wrong, the visuals they chose were crowd pleasing. The "I See the Light" portion from Tangled especially is striking when you see the lanterns projected on both sides of Main Street, framing the castle and the skyline perfectly. And, the "snowfall" during "Let It Go" was perfect, especially with the fireworks going off. (Also, I dare you NOT to sing along at this part... just about everyone around us were singing along with Elsa, and I *may* have been among them!) The Disney fireworks shows have never disappointed, but I wonder how the Imagineers are going to top themselves after Disneyland Forever!, now that it's ended. The perfect way to end your day at Disneyland is with their awesome fireworks, they've always put on a good fireworks show but Disneyland Forever! Fireworks is just spectacular and breathtaking. I've been trying to catch these fireworks since September 2015 but either I missed them or they were cancelled due to weather so it never happened. Even on my most recent trip high winds threatened to cancel the fireworks show but to my surprise they did not (even though they were cut 2 minutes short as the wind picked up). I didn't have the best spot as I had made my way towards the front of the park during the Paint The Night Parade but I figured I would still get a good viewing. This fireworks show starts almost immediately after the Paint The Night Parade and when I tell you Main Street becomes completely full and it's wall to wall people I'm not exaggerating. Most people that have been waiting hours for their good spots for the parade usually stay put to ensure they have a good spot for the fireworks and the closer to the castle the better. With all the graphics being projected on the castle and the lights it really is ideal to be up close and personal. The way the fireworks show starts is kind of magical, all of Main Street gets dark and all these spotlights start shining in front of the castle. There is a lady that narrates a little bit talking about Walt's dream when building Disneyland and things like that. The music that plays are different songs from various Disney movies with the movie graphics shining on the castle and all the buildings on Main Street such as Lion King, Fantasia, Little Mermaid and so on. My favorite part although I'm not really a fan was when they got to Frozen, it starting "snowing" and it was so pretty. Once they played Let It Go and the way it coincided with the amazing fireworks everybody including myself completely lost it and fell apart. I always get teary eyed watching certain shows at Disneyland, I tried to hold it together but when you're seeing everyone around you crying it's a little difficult lol (only true Disneyland fans can relate). While I didn't see the finale since they cut the fireworks short right after Frozen I still really enjoyed the 13-15 minute long fireworks show and I left the park in awe and was grateful that I was finally able to watch them. Since this fireworks show is specifically for the 60th Diamond Celebration I would recommend trying to catch it soon since it will probably only be running through the end of summer and the regular fireworks show will be back. This is definitely a must see when you come to Disneyland, I would miss any of the other shows and parades just to watch this one. As always Disneyland never really disappoints with their firework shows. This newest one which i have not seen from the front of the castle has a lot of cool things going on so the best spot would be anywhere where you have the view of the castle. Second spot would be in front of It's a small world they show characters on the there. Not so good spot where i first watched it was behind the castle you get a great view of the fireworks but you miss out on everything in the front of the castle. Anyways this is a must see. The downside is the crowds especially trying to find that perfect spot. Other than that very great show. read more

When you wish upon a star, you discover a magical world that is and always has been Disneyland. Lit up at 9.30 during the summer hours [and if they close at 9pm, it's at 8:35pm], the story of the Disneyland fireworks follow the music as both magically tell a tale at Cinderella's castle. It's a 10 minute escapade of pretty lights flying in the air and you wondering if you could be the princess that lives in the castle and gets to play with the controls and tries to make all the fireworks they have go on at the same time, presenting a multitude of colors in the night horizon, where people can see them from 40 miles away (reportedly). You can most definitely see them from the 5 and 57 freeways, so no doubt they light up the night sky. read more

While it is tough to follow up the iconic "Remember Dreams Come True" fireworks show from Disneyland's 50th anniversary (come on, all the E-tickets and original attractions featured!), Disneyland Forever! does a good job entertaining the park guests night after night. (Though the name itself is misleading. It says Disneyland Forever, but everything featured are from the Disney/Pixar animated movies and not from the park itself.) The main plussing this time around is the Main Street projection mapping, allowing more areas to feel like you are the center of the action. In the RDCT fireworks, you had to be in the central hub. Sure, they did some projections on the "It's a Small World" facade, but a lot of the effects were best seen at the hub. The imagineers must have thought about that, and thus, the additional projection mapping locations came about. You see the bulk of this come to fruition on Main Street and I feel that is the best place to see the fireworks show (also easy to get a spot right after the 8:50 pm Paint the Night parade). There's also some fun effects to see on the Matterhorn during the Nemo and Frozen portions, but your first time would be best in the Main Street area. I wasn't digging the song selection and the flow the first time around, but I warmed up to it after repeated viewings. The song from the Jungle Book and the Nemo portion grew on me. I absolutely love the Live the Magic song that starts off the show. The Lion King intro always gets the crowd cheering and the Let It Go section is pretty much karaoke time with both the adults and kids. Of course, like with most Disneyland fireworks, keep an eye out for the signature Hidden Mickey among the fireworks in the beginning parts of the show! read more

Ever think fireworks could make you cry? It's crazy... I didn't either. It's not me doing all the crying (yeah right you say, but seriously), but after seeing this magical show several times, I always see people sobbing, left in tears as if they just saw Michael Jackson. Earlier in the night however the softy sobbing people had their elbows up shooing away the Black Friday crowd around them to get a good view. I guess that's what some true Disney fans may do. The lights, music/sound, and breathtaking fireworks are simply overwhelming to the senses and take over some people's emotions. I don't blame them, it is quite a show I tell you. It's difficult to get a front row seat to this show; often people have to wait hours prior... But I've found a trick that works! Front row seat with a 10 minute wait! OK. I love Disney, but I also saw this with an obstructed view of "it's a small world." 3 stars. There are theoretically four viewing areas for Disneyland Forever! Fireworks: Main Street, the "hub" near Sleeping Beauty's Castle (still technically Main Street, U.S.A), near it's a small world, and at the Rivers of America (Fantasmic viewing zone between Frontierland and New Orleans Square). This was not impressive to watch from it's a small world. It was standard fun and far better than most projection shows. Still, it lacked the Disney zest for me. I'm going to compare this to Disneyland's "Remember Dreams Come True" Fireworks show (Disneyland's 50th Anniversary). "Remember" had Julie Andrews narrating, light projection, fireworks, lasers, and was a complete homage to Disneyland Park itself. All the music honored the park attractions. I am a Disney Parks nerd, and "Remember" was certainly not outdone by this "Forever!" 60th Anniversary Fireworks. "Forever" paid more love to Disney movie characters, which is I guess what kids relate to. It had classic fireworks and projection technology. It even had snow, which was fun. Still, it lacked the nod to the Park which was the whole reason for the show to begin with--to celebrate its 60th birthday. And I probably didn't have the best seats in the house... I'll update this review if I get a chance to see it again and have a different experience. Definitely aim for a different viewing area than "it's a small world." read more

What an amazing sensory overload of entertainment! This show makes it the largest digital projection mapping project of any a Disney Park in the world. The fireworks display is awesome as always and the special effects is not to be missed! Standing at the beginning of main street by the emporium is great but the castle is smaller at the end for projections, maybe stand closer towards Carnation Cafe to be immersed in the projection and see the castle better. The Paint the Night parade goes off just before the fireworks, so be sure to be in the parade spot where you want to be for the fireworks too, it just makes it easier for you and your party. The show is doable without the Main Street projections, as the Castle projections and pyro is great alone, but it really is an immersive experience to be on Main Street instead. This show goes through Disney's most familiar movies with spectacular effects and fan support. It's a must see, for all, Disney fan or not, to see what it is that makes Disney the leader in fireworks entertainment. °o° read more

People always told me not to get my hopes up with Disneyland fireworks because they're not as grand as Disney World's. Well these fireworks prove those warnings categorically wrong. This fireworks show was in every was amazing, moving, and awe-inspiring. The combination of music, immersive fireworks, and the new projections on Main Street help tell the story of Walt Disney and his dream. Yep, I totally cried. For the past week, I had been watching the fireworks (which my 2.5 year old creatively determined must be made of "pixie dust") every night from the sidewalk outside my hotel, just outside Disneyland, or from the car simply because I didn't want to be caught in the middle of the epic crowds on Main Street. Yesterday, I found myself outside of It's a Small World watching the spectacular Paint the Night parade, getting on the ride, then being in that general area just as the fireworks started. And wow, am I SO GLAD it worked out that way. Disney really outdid themselves this time. We saw Tinkerbell flying around in the sky (seriously, and not a tiny figurine like in the Small World ride, but a person), watched projections playing on the facade of the popular Small World building, and watched the epic fireworks above our heads in two separate spots. The Matterhorn Bobsled also played a role, and closer to the end......... Well, I don't want to spoil the surprise. But watch it. It is completely worth the wait and the possible trouble of dealing with the crowds of Disnerds just like you, who know what they'll miss if they don't secure a good spot to watch the fireworks. We will be back tomorrow, and this time... To find a spot on Main Street and get a clearer view of the magic. Indeed, it was MAGICAL. read more

"...As long as there's imagination left in the world, Disneyland will never be complete." -Walt Disney It never fails- whenever you think "how can it get any better?" The Imagineers also find a way to "plus" the experience, and Disneyland's newest fireworks show is no exception. My top three favorite fireworks shows at Disneyland are Halloween Screams, this one, and Wishes (the one celebrating the 50th anniversary of Disneyland). Disneyland Forever incorporates more projection technology they have been using and improving upon from within the last decade. Not only is there the obvious special effects such as the fireworks and actual fire, there are imagines projected onto the It's A Small World facade. So what, Matt? They've been doing that years! What's different? Glad you asked... In addition to that, there are images projected onto the Matterhorn, onto Sleeping Beauty Castle, and onto every single building down Main Street USA. There are many areas to watch this show, but I prefer Main Street. If you've already staked out a spot for Paint the Night, they will tell everyone on the sidewalks to move into the street all the way down Main Street. Being right in the center of the street is nice as you can see the fireworks and all the images projected on the castle and on a good majority of the buildings down both sides of the street; It really feels like a much more immersive experience. The actual show itself is great, but my only complaint is that it's called "Disneyland Forever" and the only mention of Disneyland is at the beginning and end of the show...the rest of it is basically a showcase of Disney animated films (mostly) new and old (there is one Mary Poppins sequence which is cool). This show is unlike the Wishes! show from the 50th in this regard as Wishes! featured segments from rides and things actually in Disneyland. I won't break down the show or try to spoil it for any reading this that have yet to experience it, but I will say that while The Lion King segment is a sure crowd pleaser, I really am fond of the Tangled segment. And, even though I am seriously OVER the whole Frozen thing, I do enjoy this particular segment as well and I find they did a nice job with it. It's also worth noting that Disney Legend Richard Sherman contributed to the musical score of this show with the catchy song "Live the Magic" Overall, I think this new fireworks show is spectacular and most definitely should not be missed. I imagine they will be showing this for a healthy and extended run. It'll certainly be interesting to see how the Imagineers can "plus" a show like this when the 70th anniversary rolls around. People (me) usually start to camp out right in front of the castle (on the red tile) by 7 pm for the 9:30 show. Yes, it's crazy, but for AP, we have see everything and sometimes rest is welcomes. Not to mention it's a good enough location to see the 8:50 Paint the Night parade. The red tile section will be seated on the ground during the show, it's good for families with minions or lazy folks that doesn't want to walk/stand/live anymore. Please don't exit the area in front of the castle by 8:20 pm ish. It will hell getting in and out, after 8:30, cast member won't anyone in until after the fireworks is over. If you are camping in front of the castle, please use the bathroom behind fantasy faire, not the one by Tomorrowland entrance (a la Star Tours) - it's a death trap. Watch the fireworks from Small Word, side of Matterhorn, or Main street. Just check it out EVERY time you are at the park. Stop taking videos and pictures, just enjoy the show. read more

No spoilers! Promise :] The best fireworks show I've seen at Disneyland yet! But disclaimer: MUST WATCH IN FRONT OF THE CASTLE. The cast members told us that the same show will be projected on Small World as well but you don't get the entire experience. If you choose to stay there, you have to keep turning your head because they shoot fireworks in two different places, the lasers come from different areas, and you have to have Matterhorn within your line of sight. I was in front of Small World for the Paint the Night parade and stayed there but I definitely didn't get the full experience. That being said, I still thought it was an amazing show and hope to see the whole show again in front of the castle soon haha. read more

The fireworks itself was great, however, it was such a hassle trying to watch it so I am not sure if it was worth all the effort. Disneyland is a lot smaller than Magic Kingdom at Disney world. So when it gets really busy, it becomes a huge hassle. People are pushing you around. Disney staff constantly nagging you to move here and move there. I don't really need to be treated like cattle after a long day. They need to find a better way to deal with overcrowding read more

You won't know what's coming for you, because to every adult who missed out going to Disneyland as kids (Such as myself, I didn't go until I was 18!) will be brought into tears of happiness to see the beauty of the luminous, glowing, sky show! This new fireworks show is amazing!!!!! I love how they have the projections on both the castle and the matterhorn mountain. It is cute and very entertaining. The finding Nemo segment with the fire effects are also really cool, so make sure to find a spot where you can see both the castle and matterhorn. You are allowed to go into the streets after the parade, so if you space yourself to sit on the sidewalk dieting the parade, you can position yourself perfectly for the fireworks when the parade ends. Plan accordingly because this is a show that should not be missed!!!!! I definitely am planning on going again and watching it!!! read more

This was worth the wait. I like that you can see fireworks on a regular basis at Disneyland but that 5 min show was wearing thin. This one is over the top. They have added new aerial explosion in different patterns and shapes. Plus you get the laser light and visual effects on the castle, matterhorn and main street. Plus an extra character fly over besides tinker belle, I won't spoil it and say what it is. The only down side is you have to pick your spot early so you can see both parade and firework otherwise you have to pick one or the other. So enjoy. read more

This fireworks show blew my mind!!! Disney has really outdone themselves. It really made it evident why Disney is the 2nd top buyer of explosives in the US next to the military. They really know how to put them to good use!!! This is the best show Disney has ever done that I have seen. SPOILER ALERT!! The experience is totally immersive. The projections and the snow and all the other little details make it an unforgettable experience. The best place to sit is at the end of main street with the castle, main street, and matterhorn in view. However, if there is nowhere to sit around there on anywhere on main street, It's a small world also has projections on it and also happens to be right by the start of the Paint the Night Parade route. I am a lover of fireworks shows of all kinds, but this surpassed every expectation I had of it!! I cannot wait to see it again. I have seen the Disneyland Forever show from both in front of the Castle and at Rivers of America after Fantasmic and both locations are great. There is another location, in front of Small World, but I have not tried that yet. The location to get the full experience is in front of the hub in between the Castle and Main Street; that way you can see all of the effects on the Castle and on Main Street. I like the effects and projects. They add to the effect of the show. But, I am still a big fan of the 50th fireworks and I don't think this is as good as those were. The story with the 50th was all about the rides at Disneyland and went land by land, but this one is more about the movies and with a little history of the beginnings of Disneyland and philosophies of Disney. read more

I cannot even describe how amazing this fireworks display was, in fact I cannot even just categorize this fantastic show to just a classic firework display over Walt's original Magic Kingdom. Disneyland Forever immersed me in the most beautiful spectacle of special effects on the facades of Main Street, it's rooftop, and of course the dazzling lights and fireworks that erupted from Sleeping Beauties Castle (not to mention that the Matterhorn, rivers of America, and It's a Small World feature a great viewing platform for the show as well.) The stories narrative brought new Disney films into a classic and innovative retelling of some of Disney's most iconic films such as "Winnie the Pooh" and "The Jungle Book." Overall this show requires one to return for a second or even third viewing in order to truly absorb the Immersive magic from this show! read more

It was very sad. We went to Disneyland for fireworks the first day and they announced that the fireworks were cancelled because of high winds above that was concerning safety problems so we went the second day and sadly it was also cancelled because of the same reason. We came all the way from San Jose and that was the last day we were going to Disneyland and so it was pretty heartbreaking. The reason I gave 2 stars was because of the beautiful lights above the castle and all over the castle at night. Amazing! read more

Absolutely spectacular! Disney has really outdone themselves once again. I, myself, have become a ginormous fan of Disney Land. However, there were a few minor bugs with the performance. I only loved it partially because we were unfortunate and did not and get a good view of the mesmerizing fireworks. Although we watch the show all the time, (and nearly memorized the whole show) many tourists travel almost halfway around the world to this supposedly "happiest place on earth", coming to find a tree to block the amazing sight of the castle and fireworks. Another time, we watched the fireworks at "It's a Small World", but only enjoyed a portion of the entertainment. I had noticed that there are fireworks behind the castle and fireworks behind the world-renowned ride. I kept turning my head back and forth to see it all. Evidently, I did not have a great time. The fireworks was truly a work of art, only to be blocked by a group of trees and towering grown-ups. Also, if only Disney Land, California requested everyone to be seated throughout the show. Many adults, 7 feet tall, are standing right in front of little kids. The display of fireworks connected with the 90's kids and the generation of kids now. With songs like "The Circle of Life" and the song sung by little girls worldwide, "Let it Go''. Thank you Disney, for making memories that last a lifetime. read more
