The owners of District Market Green Grocer are awesome people to meet. When you enter this business you are greeted by smiling faces. If you have questions, ask because you will definitely receive thorough answers. They are stocked with so many organic products that are great for the body. I like to purchase the Gut Detox, Sour Sop Leaf and Lym Phatic Drain System. I usually drink all three within 24 hours. There are also many types of food to purchase as well.

As we approach the holiday season, this is a great spot to pick up a few gifts & goodies without the pain of crazy crowds and the 15 minute wait for a parking spot. Tucked away in a little corner shopping strip off of 1960, they offer a variety of products from alkaline water to head wraps, fedoras, fruit, desserts, laundry detergent, soap & even a small frozen section- all black owned. The space is clean & spacious & speaking with the owner feels like walking into your local neighborhood spot-you know the one that asks how your weeks been & knows you by name. While they're building out, I'm sure the offerings will vary depending on the vendors holding shelf space, and although they're not YET a substitute for your grocery store run, I'm glad they're here & excited to continue to visit and watch them grow.

Best seamoss prices in town. I've tried several seamoss products. Love that this store helps the community.

They are however Amazon equip and unless you're a body builder, definitely affordable lazy gal meal prep approved. I repeat, a meal fit to feed an entire family, 6.7lbs of quality food, 5 or so thick chicken breasts with two sides for 26.99. Unlike the rest of the world, I'm excited to see the lack of proteinification on every aisle. I too am on a plan requiring an unearthly amount of protein abd good fiber and Ofcourse they offer plenty of options, but the store seems organized in a way to primary support protein from whole or whole ish foods and generally includes options with minimal additives as opposed to the addition of whey protein to literally everything. I can't say I feel financially responsible when shopping at Whole Foods, but I can say that I appreciate a few tried and true staples that they seem to exclusively carry, and for that, meal prep, and consistently great service, I'm thankful.

I wanted to learn more about the company since it's local and I often find the juices in the produce section while shopping at HEB. The founders, Norma and Walter Nimocks, decided to bring juices to the masses after experimenting with various combinations and recipes. Norma, as I discovered, is originally from Ecuador, but the Nimocks's travels throughout Central and South America also apparently inspired them as they went about creating shots and juices. Although I haven't tried any of the Just Made wellness shots, I definitely get the juices often. I would say my favorite thus far is Ginger Greens (Immunity) which includes: kale, spinach, pineapple and ginger. It tastes great and has a dark green label. Also included are coconut water, pear juice and lime juice. The flavors are well balanced. My second favorite juice is the Beets & Turmeric which includes: beets, orange juice, coconut water, pear juice and carrot. One would initially expect the beets to overpower everything else in the mix, but again, this is a well balanced blend. Another flavor I tried recently is the Pineapple Ginger, which is delicious. Overall, I highly recommend these juices because it's a great tasting, affordable healthy option (priced just over $3 for the 11.8 oz bottles).

My fave is the Just Better Greens - a green juice blend with Kale, Cukes and Spirulina. This is right up my alley when I want a juice quickly and have no time to juice at home.

I also want to recognize Patrick, who was working in the back stocking/unloading items. He took the time to go check for a product for me, came back personally, and let me know it was unavailable. I appreciated the effort and professionalism. Unfortunately, the experience at checkout completely changed the tone of my visit. The cashier, Marilyn, never greeted me, never acknowledged me when I spoke to her, and never thanked me at the end of the transaction. From beginning to end, there was not a single word exchanged from her side. When she handed me my receipt, her demeanor felt dismissive and honestly unpleasant. Idk what that attitude was about but imagine how quickly this could've gone downhill had I handled her just as rudely as she handled me. What stood out most is that there was no negative interaction beforehand that would have explained the behavior. Even if a greeting was somehow missed, there is no reason a customer should leave without at least hearing "thank you." One employee's poor customer service can easily overshadow the positive work of others, and that's exactly what happened here. Whole Foods needs to do better with consistency in customer experience, especially at the register where customers leave with their final impression of the store.

I'm African American, and I picked up on some type of racial bias. Secondly my son and I have had the same experience with the older woman whose name starts with an A. When I attempted to purchase an item that was 1.38 cents with six quarters. She stood away from register and folded her arms and rolled her eyes. When I questioned her actions . She said she don't want change. I explained that it was still currency. And I told her that she was acting rude. She replied that I was rude and I was the problem. She doubled down by saying that I should go to another store if I didn't like what she said, I replied that I was the customer, and she asked me did I want a pat on the back for that. I was flabbergasted and this isn't the first time she's been rude. My son experienced similar circumstances with the same individual. It is just ridiculous. I've lived in this neighborhood before this store was built, I also have bought product there. I will take her advice and never go back , I feel discriminated against. And it makes me wonder if this type of bias is being encouraged by management. I wonder if Ceo Fazil Malik is aware of the disdain of Black customers and the lack of a customer service experience. That many people face daily at this location. I won't spend a nickel there again .
