When we walked in, the bar was packed with people watching the game, and it had a fun, lively atmosphere. It definitely looked like a great place to catch a sporting event. The service was excellent from start to finish. The owner even came over to introduce himself, which was a really nice touch and made us feel welcome. The chips and salsa were good, just what you'd hope for at a quality Mexican restaurant. We ordered the shrimp fajitas, regular fajitas, and a couple of quesadillas from the kids menu. Even though the menu says it's for kids 8 and under, they were happy to let our slightly older kids order from it. It was a fantastic value, although I'd recommend it more for kids around 12 and under based on the portion sizes. Everything we ordered was fresh and flavorful, but the standout was definitely the homemade tortillas. They were outstanding. I also asked for a hot sauce, and they brought out a fresh green sauce that completely elevated the meal. I'm not sure exactly what was in it, but it was incredible. Great food, friendly service, easy parking, and a welcoming atmosphere. We'd definitely come back and would highly recommend Rango's to anyone looking for excellent Mexican food in Virginia.
