Small, quick, and casual spot. The setup is straightforward: the menu is on the wall, you order at the register, and you pick up your food at the same counter when it's ready. They only have a few tables inside, but service is very fast. They also have a station with three different bottled salsas you can pour into cups, as well as a self-service area where you can get water from a Gatorade cooler with plastic cups. ​Beef & Goat Birria Tacos with Cheese ($3.64 + $0.50 for cheese each) The tacos themselves were very good. The cheese was melted and crisped directly onto the tortillas, with the birria meat stuffed right inside the crispy cheese shell. Between the two proteins, I definitely enjoyed the goat taco more than the beef, as the distinct flavor of the goat complimented the consommé that it was cooked in better than I thought the beef did. Generally, these tacos are smaller than what you might get elsewhere, but even though they are on the smaller side, they are cheaper and still completely stuffed with meat for their size. The consommé was a little too salty for my taste. I actually preferred eating the birria tacos without dipping them in the consommé, using the salsas instead. La Tingeria has been a consistent favorite of mine since their food truck days, and now with their brick-and-mortar locations, they've stayed just as amazing. This place was so good. It's a little hole in the wall Mexican place but oh my god. The food came out so quickly and was absolutely delicious. The beef birria tacos were juicy and tender. Their consomme is a bit on the salty side which was the only slight downside to this place. Their tortillas were perfectly soft and absolutely soaked in all of the meat juices. I will say that the more taco places I try and eat out - the picker I am becoming! Overall, this place is a great spot for tacos. I also appreciate the portion sizes! I had extra filling in my tacos which I took home and then used my own tortillas to make more (more for me!). Writing an updated review now that they have a brick and mortar, and more options than the food truck. This place is still excellent and better than anytime before. I found out that Goat meat is actually heathy for you, and the way they prepare it here, is very low risk in carcinogenic, so the opposite of beef while tasting like delicious red meat. So when I have my red meat cravings, I'll get a goat quesobirria here, and I think it may even taste better than the beef. You are missing out if you haven't tried it! Goat meat is also grass-fed, so it's very nutrient dense, and also, one of the easiest meats to digest. Seriously, it's hard to find goat meat prepared like this, this tasty, and this affordable. I'm surprised they don't charge more b/c goat meat is more expensive, probably b/c they want more folks to try it. So the authentic birria tacos were actually made out of goat meat, give it a try! One of the best spots in the DMV hands down. I wanted to check out the place for some time because I had never experienced Taco Tuesday for myself. Like it was just lingering in my head until one day I suddenly said to myself, " I should really try something new today ". And thus, here we are with a review. La Tingeria is a Taco Shop located in Falls Church. If there's one thing I will have to mention, the parking situation is like trying to solve a jigsaw puzzle. Why are there so many cars here? How can anyone park here? There's parking on the streets, the sidewalk but it's very limited. I'm not saying there are better options close to you but if you are briefly going in to pick up food, I think you'd be okay with parking relatively close by. I must have hit the lottery when I accidently checked Instagram or so on Tuesday. Saw a post from where their social media representative mentioned 5-9 PM for 2 dollar Tacos. That's amazing! I decided to splurge because why not right? After parking, I ventured inside. I think I must have been the first to walk in once it hit 5 PM, I was on a mission for sure. I immediately went to the board to check out all the Taco Items they had.. Birria, Chorizo, Hal Pastor, Carne Asada, ect... So many good options. I got 2 Birria Goat, 2 Birria Beef, 1 Tinga Chicken, 1 Tinga Beef, 2 Chorizos for my choice of tacos. I also paid for Consomme which is an absolute must if I'm going to dip my tacos in delicious broth. I also had to get a Mexican Coke too. The only downside was there was one that wasn't chilled so it was at room temperature. The Birria Goat/Beef were soft, tender chunks of meat that melted in your mouth with full bliss the minute you took a bite. Dipping it into the Consommé felt like a dream came true. I never experienced a wide array of euphoria after eating good tacos. The Tinga Chicken/Beef Tacos were okay but the meat kept falling out of the Taco and into the Consommé. It was good but I think I would opt for something else. The Chorizo tacos had a slight kick to them but not overpowering. I think with the Consommé they brought more of that saltiness out. For around 24 dollars, this is a match made in heaven. I think truly this is a place I will check out again for sure. read more

First time going here - loved that it's halal! Halal certifications are on the menu board for reference. I wish the menu was posted online so I could view items beforehand but there no big deal. Tried the strawberry agua Fresca, churro, chicken tinga taco, and an item that isn't in the menu as a permanent item yet but is doing great as a special they were trying out: birria egg rolls. Parking is tight and spots fill quickly in the area, you can easily miss it. Not alot of dine in space, seats about 12-15 people and many were in and out for take out orders. Greeted at the register and Service is quick when getting rung up. Food took about 10-15 min to come out piping hot, and the egg rolls were my favorite item! I hope they keep it around. Chicken tinga taco was good but not insane, birria egg rolls were to die for and I loved the crema it came with, the churro was filled and yummy, and the drink was refreshing, almost like the strawberry lemonade I make at home.
