Menu for breakfast

I stopped in again this morning... would my experience match the previous? Are they consistently as great as the first time? YES !! Love the friendly greeting and delicious fresh ingredients!

Good variety with both traditional and creative types of tacos. Bonus that tacos are available "dirty-style" (with flour tortilla) or "clean-style" (served in cabbage cup).

My wife craves Taco Bamba. Their Gringo taco with ground beef, cheese, etc. hits the spot every time. We order it on a flour tortilla and the tortilla is perfectly fried. The tacos are pretty big and two fill you up. There's also a salsa bar that we appreciate. Our eight-year-old daughter loves their rice and beans!

Some of the daily special tacos. Some of the best in the area.

These are the best tacos I know of in the DMV, and I've tried many. The ingredients are fresh, there is a wide variety of different salsas (four, from mild to hot hot), and a wide variety of tacos as well, from veggie tacos to about 10 different kinds of meat. The best tacos are the daily specials - slightly more expensive but worth it. Only two downsides to this location -- no margaritas, and no Taco Tuesday.

Breakfast Sope

It seems Taco Bamba cannot make a single bad dish. I had been running errands since early morning and did not have a chance to eat breakfast. I was close to taco bamba and thought I might just grab a taco que qualm my hunger at 11am. I had never noticed their breakfast menu and decided on trying to breakfast sope. The dough was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, the yolk on the egg was runny but the white perfectly cooked. The avocado perfectly ripe. The chorizo seasoned everything perfectly. Chiles gave it the perfect level of spice. The service, as always, professional and prompt.

Barbacoa and chicken tinga pack the bowls

So good! I have been looking for decent Mexican food in the area and I also prefer to eat on the healthier side and this hit the spot! I ordered the pack the bowl with barbacoa and my boyfriend had the chicken tinga - both were great. The portions were good sized for the bowls, however, the side of guacamole is tiny (see photo). We ordered delivery so I can't speak to the service in the restaurant but delivery was fast and the food was well packaged! (No spilled salsas). I would order from there again and will have to stop in and check it out in person.

Carne Asada (seared beef)
Doug B.

Really good chain restaurant option. I've been to the Fairfax one, but first time here. I had the Carne Asada (seared beef) and Tinga (braised chicken) tacos. I also had the guacamole and chips. The tacos were good, but missed some greens on it. Good flavors, I added some guacamole to each bite. Very good. Really enjoyed the guac. Very well made. Could be a bit spicier but added some zing from the salsa bar. **Really fun option with their salsa bar. This dresses up any meal and bite. They have to-go cups so you can take it with you. Very limited seating outdoors. Bar-like seating indoors. I think this is a popular to-go place. Definitely consider them if you are looking for a quick, tasty bite.

The tacos al pastor are amazing - the best in town. I get with the beans and rice, also excellent.

Do they have Tamales? I got baby Jesus in the Rosca de Reyes, so I need a place that has good tamales to take my family on February. The menu does not mention Tamales, but some reviews do, so I am confused. Thanks!

Yes they do! I went around Summer/Fall 2018. They have pork or vegetarian. You have to look for the menu pictures that include the panel that says "TACNOS- NOT TACOS"

Parking was easy with a large garage right next to the restaurant, which made it especially convenient before heading to a show nearby. When we walked in, the bar was packed with people watching the game, and it had a fun, lively atmosphere. It definitely looked like a great place to catch a sporting event. The service was excellent from start to finish. The owner even came over to introduce himself, which was a really nice touch and made us feel welcome. The chips and salsa were good, just what you'd hope for at a quality Mexican restaurant. We ordered the shrimp fajitas, regular fajitas, and a couple of quesadillas from the kids menu. Even though the menu says it's for kids 8 and under, they were happy to let our slightly older kids order from it. It was a fantastic value, although I'd recommend it more for kids around 12 and under based on the portion sizes. Everything we ordered was fresh and flavorful, but the standout was definitely the homemade tortillas. They were outstanding. I also asked for a hot sauce, and they brought out a fresh green sauce that completely elevated the meal. I'm not sure exactly what was in it, but it was incredible. Great food, friendly service, easy parking, and a welcoming atmosphere. We'd definitely come back and would highly recommend Rango's to anyone looking for excellent Mexican food in Virginia.

Another food runner immediately brought us water and chips and salsa. The salsa tasted a little bland and felt like it was missing some salt or some other seasoning/ingredient. We ordered another round but it was about the same. The chips were great. The seafood enchiladas I ordered were flavorful and there was a great spread of guacamole, sour cream, beans and rice. The plates were served hot and the kitchen had the good come out quite quickly which was appreciated. We'll be back!

The entrees were slow, we were told it's cuz they had to fry the fish. We had a fried fish entree, birria tacos, and combination fajita. The fried fish was good we liked the mix of salad and rice but the fish was definitely kind of earthy taste, some people may not like it. Big portion. Birria tacos were good cheese and soupy. I was told the fajitas were standard but they gave out a huge portion with heated tortillas in a towel. We also got a passionfruit juice. Orders were big we packed two entrees home (fish and fajitas). Servers were nice. Will come back if in the area.

Chips and salsa were very very fresh and tasty and not crazy picante. We started with two pupusas (one Loroco/flower the other one Ayote/squash - and shared with lots of cheese melt and cabbage. Excellent and a meal in itself. That came with its own paired salsa dip fresh and tomato forward. We both had Tamarindo Agua Fresca on ice and a glass of water. The Ceviche was perfect and super fresh and made to order. We both went for mixto (mussels/fish/shrimp/polpo/super tiger's milk broth). You need to stir things up before digging in since the seafood is on top and might seem dry at first - until you get the broth spread around! We'll be back to explore the Salvadorish menu and the bespoke chocolate and flan, the sopas, the molcajete. Lengua is a favorite of mine and it's a meat option for tacos. Next week! : ) 4 stars, not 5 since chocolate and flan were out after the big weekend. UPDATE: Go to 5 this time popped in for the chocolate - perfect. Wonderful as my first taste in Mazatlan.
