The bad: - Convenient location once you find it. There were no big signs on the building that gave any indication of a restaurant so I almost pulled out. There was, however a little sign on the front door. I did, however see a "Ditty's" sign up on the tall interstate sign when I was leaving. - The parking lot is in terrible shape and poorly lit. - I'm not terribly picky when it comes to cleanliness, but despite only 1 table being occupied, most of the empty tables needed a cleaning. I had to request a cleaning of one of the booths. - I stopped here primarily due to the fact that reviews stated the breakfast was served all day. However, the single-page little menu said nothing about the availability of breakfast. The OK: - The food. It was just OK. Ordered a cheddar bacon cheeseburger. The burger patties were just some run of the mill frozen patties. The bacon was cooked nicely. The cheese was obviously thrown on while putting the burger together is was not melted at all. The Good: - Waitress was very nice and pretty attentive despite the fact that she was there by herself and running the tables and the bar. She was running to keep up once 4 other small groups came in after I sat down. - Onion rings were very good. I might give them a shot if I come through during breakfast hours next time but I certainly wouldn't go out of my way to stop here. The 5 star reviews certainly fooled me. read more

Had a great little breakfast...I upgraded the toast on the 2 egg breakfast special to French Toast for an extra $4...Everything was tasty and cooked perfect...I am not sure about the "Vanilla Custard Butter" as it tasted like margarine to me....But the good news is they have real butter packs ! On our family road trip from the East Coast to Mt. Rushmore we came upon Ditty's and decided it seemed like a good point to stop and grab lunch. Inside a gas station and tucked away in a back corner, it didn't look like much. About 8-9 tables, half of which are booths, and about as many stools at a bar. I wasn't expecting much, but we all ordered burgers (two adult burgers and one kid's), and got some fries, as well. Everything was excellent! Large, juicy burgers, fresh toppings, crispy hot fries! Don't let the location fool you-this diner is in the back of a gas station BUT it may be one of the best breakfasts we've had in the road! The diner is clean, cute and the staff is so friendly and kind. The omelet was great- eggs over medium was perfect..and the bacon...superb!! There is an outdoor seating area with flowers and picnic benches as well- it was too hot to sit outside when we were here. Also-easy parking for big rigs and RVs with trailers. Food: The pancakes were huge, the omelette was delicious, French toast was a large portion and my wife said her Siracha burger was awesome. No complaints about the food. Our waitress also gave me a HUGE cup of coffee, I don't know if that is normal but it was pretty cool. Service: Our waitress was a bit preoccupied. She seemed to be the only one working in the place and was running around a lot. So she wasn't SUPER attentive, but I could tell she was trying, so we are not holding that against her. Atmosphere: It's a diner inside, you know... with cliche decorations on the wall and whatnot. There is also a bar and a casino inside because it is a truck stop. There isn't a lot of seating, so for a large party, you need to give them some advance notice. Price: Pretty cheap place, I think we left for around $40 for 4 people. And the servings were large as well, so it's not like you wouldn't get full. Plus - BISCUITS AND GRAVY YO!!!! Overall: It's a small town diner with a small town feel. It would be better if they hyped up the stereotypical diner feel a little, like had the waitresses dress in 50's clothing and put in a jukebox. In any case, it was good food and fairly inexpensive, but didn't knock my socks off. For the last star, I will need to come back and try more of their food. We WILL be back... read more

I ordered a loaded baked potato with pulled pork, and my travel partner and dear friend, Ben, ordered a chicken bacon ranch sandwich with fries. My potato was amazing; the pulled pork had so much flavor and Ben's sandwich was a total mouthgasm (he let me try it, bless him). Our waitress was a sweetheart as well. Food is always disgusting. Chicken and burgers are undercooked, borderline raw. Pizzas are cardboard smothered in what has to be the cheapest tomato paste that almost feels grainy in your mouth. The worst pizza I've ever had the displeasure of trying to digest. If you're hungry, go anywhere else. I suggest prepackaged cooler food (as long as it's not theirs) over the food here.
