Being from Boulder, CO, a vegetarian and a very picky eater make road trips difficult, especially driving through America's heartland. We saw the sign for Ditty's alongside of I-90 and decided to give it a go. I am so happy we stopped here! I even had trouble narrowing down my menu selection, something that hasn't happened since we left home. The service was friendly and fast and the ambiance was perfect for a roadside diner; you wouldn't even know it was attached to the gas station if you didn't have to walk thorough the store to get in the diner. The food was great, I would definitely recommend the "cheddar baked hashbrowns" to anyone. We didn't have a chance to try lunch, dinner or dessert, but it all looked good-especially the milkshakes, and are all available 24hrs a day. All in all, a great experience and I will be back if I am in the area again. read more

The five star reviews, are no bueno. The food I had on my way to Rushmore was typical truck stop hash. I had a Philly Cheese Steak and I am sure that the person making this sandwich for me has no idea what a real Philly cheese steak looks like or how it is prepared. None the less my gf's hamburger was really good. Quality meat and just a tasty burger. Service could be better, but it's Kimball, SD. Three stars is the best I can do. read more

Guess I should have learned my lesson the last time. Tried their Indian taco...taco fixings on greasey fry bread. Yuk! Worst of all $9.66 for a taco and a glass of water!! Should have gone to Taco Bell! read more

Had the Cuban sandwich around 9pm. Decent diner atmosphere. Movie posters and Hollywood stars above tables. Look for the antique car! Wait staff was friendly, prices were reasonable. Would stop again on a cross country trip. Much better than I expected. Has a bar in the back which seems to get some local hangouts. read more

Easy location right off I-90. We had the chicken club, Cuban, French dip, and the cheeseburger. All were very good - the Texas toast on the Cuban was excellent and the chicken club was perfectly cooked. Kasi provided great service and the diner interior was nicely laid out. read more

Not very good food or service. Not one of the places to stop along I-90 in SD, there are some other truck stop diners that are much better!

We ate at Dittys Diner tonight and it was amazing! Had Oyster Rockafeller and 14 Oz Ribeye everything was GREAT!

The kids were hungry so we pulled off I 90 to get some supper. I had the hot beef wife had the crispy chicken ranch wrap and the girls had the shrimp basket and the fish and chips. Everything was 100% from the food to the service and even the atmosphere. We will be back again!!!! read more

I'm not one to leave reviews especially bad ones but this place was awful, my husband and I were on a road trip and decided to stop and eat here after reading the reviews and realizing we wouldn't have any other option for another 30 miles. We entered the restaurant with low expectations for the atmosphere but high expectations for the food & "fast, friendly service" needless to say we were let down by both. We took a seat and waited patiently for 15-20 minutes for the lady to approach us and take our drink orders. When she finally took our orders we ordered our food as well seeing as how we had so much time to look over the menu. We both shook off the wait in hopes the food would make up for it, wrong. I ordered a grilled chicken salad ($9) & my husband ordered a breakfast skillet ( $11) the food came out to us fairly quick which I was pleased by, however we discovered why. My husband ordered scrambled eggs for his skillet and got an undercooked fried egg as well as hash browns that were crispy on top and cold in the middle ( likely microwaved) and a side of toast that was merely a step above plain pieces of bread. My salad was quite small for $9 (just compared to other restaurants I've been too) and was made up of iceberg lettuce that was so large I had to cut myself & chicken that was warm to the touch and cold in the middle ( likely microwaved). Between the wait and the quality of the food I wouldn't recommend this restaurant or return. On the bright side the ladies bathroom was clean :) read more

I'm originally from White Lake, SD & now drive over the road for a Sioux Falls company. I was there last night & had a ribeye dinner. Wow, it was fabulous, cooked to perfection!!! I also like strong coffee in the morning, & they have that as well with some of the best carmel rolls I've had. Sorry Mom! LOL!! We got fuel for diesel motor home and gas for car (towable). Food excellent everytime we've stopped. Lots of food, not expensive and good-good-good. real good. We try to route ourselves through there when going from Florida to Wyoming because of Ditty's! Sure hope it's still there! read more

Delicious hot food made quick and the portions are large! Very generous. We ordered veggie omelet which can with hash browns, and the biscuits and white gravy and a side of hash browns with peppers and onions cooked with them, delicious. Biscuits were huge so it was easy to share between my husband and I. We also ordered the shrimp basket and that was so good, breaded shrimp is severely underused in diners. It's a delicious treat. Everything came to under 30 and we had a coffee as well. It was all so good and the service was excellent. Their hot sauce is also very good (Valentina). I would definitely try their pancakes next time they looked good and they have a syrup warmer so you're never getting cold syrup here (which surprisingly has happened to us before in other places which is such a let down.) this place gets ALL THE STARS you're not going find better food on this stretch of the road for hours. read more
