Had my LF Brake on my '03 Dodge Ram 2500 Diesel lock up parking my trailer at the Loves RV spots.3 miles away. They replaced all parts of the brake (at my request) otherwise they would have turned the rotor to see if it could be salvaged. While doing a test drive, the power steering failed which was caused by the hydro boost going out completely, and while it was intermittently working it put so much ware on the power steering pump it needed to be replaced. You could not plan an event like this better than it turned out. If I lived close this would be my place for all things when needing mechanical work done on my vehicles. My husband and I were traveling across country pulling our travel trailer from Illinois with California to be our final destination. We had a little mishap with our camper rubbing a curb stop at a gas station. We thought the damage was merely cosmetic. However, a few hours down the road, we had a tire blowout. We called roadside assistance, got the tired exchanged, new tire put on, and back on the road again to our first stop in Sioux Falls, SD. Next morning, we get on the road again, only to blowout the same tire!! At this point, we realized something more was wrong. Luckily for us, we were only a mile east from the exit for a very small town in SD called Kimball. While we were waiting for roadside assistance to arrive, a nice gentleman driving a van that advertised Overweg Repair stopped to see if we needed any assistance. We assured him we had assistance on the way, but thanked him for stopping to check on us. His shirt said his name was Dan. We later discovered he was the owner of Overweg Repair. When we realized that our front axle was most likely bent, we knew our journey could not continue until it was repaired. We limped into a little parking lot-like campground in Kimball called Parkway Campground, and gave Overweg Repair a call. Troy from there came to where we were, took a look at the camper and confirmed we needed a new axle. He went back to shop to see if he had what he needed to replace it. He called within an hour to see if we could come at 8am the next morning to get the work done. We were ecstatic! They did the repairs and had us back on the road before noon!! We couldn't believe it. We were so worried it would take days having to wait for parts to arrive. And the cost was extremely reasonable. Friendly people, exceptional service. On our way from FL to Yellowstone, we stopped in Kimball for gas, and when we got back on the freeway we couldn't get past 3000rpm or past 20mph in a 37ft motorhome. We turned around at the first emergency vehicle crossing, limped back to Kimball on the road's shoulder, and rolled right into Dan's driveway. Not more than 1 minute after reaching our rv, Dan had the issue diagnosed. Absolutely amazing! For a small town you do not get any better service when in trouble on a roadtrip. It was 6pm and past closing and a radiator hose fix was not sufficient to cool truck. A new radiator was needed. They were fast and when I needed parts they went way beyond to have family run to the needed place (not close by) to get the parts and have them installed and ready by 9:30 the next morning. I was driving from my home in Virginia to Mt Rushmore and on to a family reunion in the west, when my Odyssey blew its transmission. I am mad at Honda, but Overwheg was great. They sent an king cab for the tow so my family could ride with the car and get to a hotel in Kimball near the shop since exit 284 on I-90 has no hotel, no taxi and no bus. Dan (the owner) was kind and provided honest service at a price on the new honda transmission that was less than my brother paid for his after market older model ody transmission replacement. Dan even offered me a ride with one of his employees to pick up a rental car in Sioux City 100 miles away, but I ended up renting from him as he had a vehicle that fit my wife and 4 kids. We were able to finish our trip and just pick the car up on the way back home. Thanks Dan. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone stuck in South Dakota--especially with the junky Odyssey Transmission. On August first this year I was in an accident not far from Kimball. Something big had rolled off of a construction clean up truck and bounced up under my car and broke the engine right off the mounts. I was stuck on the side of the road and had no idea who to call or what to do as I was only passing through and didn't know the area or anything. The state-trooper came and while I was on the phone with the insurance company he tells me he's going to call Dan from Overweg. I thought that spoke volumes of Overweg right off the bat when the state troopers have him on speed dial. Within 15 minutes of that call Dan Overweg pulls up and has me and the other woman's car (the object went from my under my car to hers) and had us of the road and safe. When we got back to the shop it was obvious that there was significant damage to my car and there was a possibility it would have been totaled. I was devastated. I am a female disabled veteran and was on a long road and camping trip all my camp stuff was in the car and I really just couldn't replace the car at this time. Dan arranged for a 2 hour ride to Sioux Falls. It took nearly 2 weeks for my insurance company to approve the work to be done. (My insurance company dropped the ball and got in big trouble) However, Kirene and the other office gals were so patient while dealing with them and were always polite when I called to check the status. When we finally got approved for the work to be done their mechanics had my car finished in 10 days. And it was extensive damage. I had to get a new engine, air conditioner and all the little pieces and parts that goes with it. Its like having a whole new car that I don't have to break in. I really appreciated everything the Overweg's did to save my car and get me back on the road. They are really good and hard working people. On October 3, 2016, my wife and I were traveling and was on I-90 west of Kimball and our truck broke down. We were towing our 5th wheel trailer and had contacted Good Sam to locate a tow operator. Good Sam contacted Overweg Repair and they came to our location and towed both our truck and trailer to their facility. Our trailer was towed to a RV Park by their shop. The truck would not be ready for a couple of days and the owners, Dan and Corinne, offered to rent vehicle to us so our trip would not be ruined. We took them up on the offer and went on to Rapid City, SD and three days later received a call that our truck repair was complete. We picked up the truck and went on traveling for 23 more wonderful days. When my fiancé and I rolled our truck and trailer, nearly killing ourselves and our two dogs, Overweg repair LLC showed us very little kindness and understanding in our situation. I really can't say enough good things about Overweg and the very kind people that work there. We ran into a car issue about 10 miles west of Kimball while driving from New York to California. Although they didn't have the part we needed to fix our Mercedes (a very stupid car to drive across the country!) they were really helpful in assessing the problem and coordinating with the Mercedes dealer in Sioux Falls. They gave us a tow to Sioux Falls and even a great recommendation for a hotel to spend the night. Everyone who helped us was courteous and professional. Cannot thank Dan and his wife enough. I was starting a summer long road trip from Minneapolis on July 2nd, a Saturday. About 5 miles from kimball my tail pipe rusted out. Here I was thinking I'd have to miss the first leg of my trip and spend the next four days in kimball because july 4 fell on a Monday. I called overweg just in case--they were closed, but 20 minutes later Dan called me and told me he would come in to look at the car. An hour later and with some help from his wife (who came in after I failed to pick up my phone when Dan called to let me know the car was done), we were back on the road. For the cost/minor amount of work that needed to be done, I wouldn't have blamed him if he ignored the call and enjoyed his holiday weekend. Dan SAVED us out in the middle of the freeway when we got a flat tire in the middle of the night (at 1am). He came out, replaced the flat for us, and offered to patch the tired right away at 1 in the morning. It ended up being a gash where it couldn't be repaired, so he sold us another tire. I told her my situation - I needed 4 new drive tires for my commercial moving van. She checked inventory, walked into the back and asked Dan (her husband and co-owner) if he'd mind taking care of me. Without missing a beat, my truck was in the shop getting a brand new set of Cooper drive tires. No questions, no after hours service fees. These guys did me right. Dan and Corinne are the epitome of small town business owners who are successful for doing right by their customers.
