We found this place actually through Yelp. We couldn't be more happy!…read more This gym for kids is located in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn. Q train is just around the corner. Gym is in the fancy looking building. You walk in, take an elevator to the second floor and there you are. Facility has a small front desk, but 2 other rooms where the actual exercising happens are spacious. I've been bringing my daughter (who's not even four years old) to gymnastic classes for few weeks now. She's young and capable but sometimes needs some encouragement, this is where coach Ella comes in. Coach Ella is a very sweet person who loves to teach all ages. She pays attention to all girls in the group when she's teaching. She makes sure there is no girl left without supervision. She's able to walk to all girls individually and correct/help with new exercises. She expects a lot from those kiddos but at the same time she understands their limits. Classes are fun and entertaining, never saw a group bigger than 10 girl at once. Miss Ella rewards girls with points (for doing their exercise right) as well as gives them small candy at the end of the class. Price for class to pop in is $20. Gymnastic class is 3 times a week (Monday, Wednesday and Saturday). They offer all kinds of discounts for attending all 3 days. They also have all kids of different classes from art to karate (with other teachers). There is also annual fee of $40.

We are all hard working individuals, that try to do right by our kids…read more I decided to send my kids to this Gymnastics center and this was a total failure. The manager Ella is a nightmare. She sweet talked me into signing up my kids, promising out-standing results. Unfortunately, she is a total loser of a person. She bad-mouthed my kids to other children. She said my daughter is too fat to be a gymnast, to her other classmates. Instead of being a manager, a person of leadership, a person who can uplift a child, she had my children in tears for days due to her lack of concern for my children's future's. Ella is money-orientated, and show's favoritism towards kids that she cares about. She is a monster. Stay away and instead take the time to find a REAL gymnastic school.

However, like many, we discussed on several occasions over the years how we would like to get back to those fun years when we were dancing a couple of times every week. Well, we finally decided to stop just talking about it and to do it. Fortunately, we found Atlantic Dance Studio. After just a few short weeks into it, we were already doing the basics steps of the Rumba, Fox Trot, Waltz, Tango, and Push/Pull, and having fun dancing once again after a 40-year break. They have a very natural progressive way of teaching, and surprisingly in the following weeks we started getting into more complex moves. The group classes are also a lot of fun and the interaction with other students and instructors is a great approach to help the learning process. Atlantic ballroom offers a fun, friendly atmosphere, and a beautiful and comfortable large dance studio... private lessons are great with Ody, who is a very patient, fun, professional, and talented instructor... group classes are fun and informative... and Friday night social dance is a wonderful opportunity to practice what was learned during the week... and when you see instructor team perform dance routines, they are just incredibly talented. The owner, Sarika, is very friendly and cordial, keeps a close eye on the studio and the progress of students, and is an incredible national level pro dance performer. If you have been just thinking about taking dance lessons like my wife and I were for a couple of years, stop just daydreaming and give Atlantic Dance Studio a try. I'm sure you will find the studio, instructors, atmosphere, and best of all the experience, as enjoyable as my wife and I have found.

Absolutely terrible experience with PureGym/Blink…read more I ended up spending over $400 in only about 5 months between monthly payments, annual fees, cancellation fees, and even collections. At one point they already sent me to collections and I had to pay around $120 just to resolve it. The customer support is awful. There is basically no real support inside the gym, and online support is email-only. They take forever to respond and often just send automated payment links instead of actually helping. The gym itself often smells bad, especially like sweaty socks, and there are barely any employees around who can actually assist members. The biggest issue is how they handle memberships and contracts. They advertise cheap monthly prices, but they do not clearly explain: the 12-month contract commitment, the annual maintenance fee, or the fact that cancelling early requires paying a $62 buyout fee. A lot of younger people and students sign up without fully understanding what they are agreeing to because these important details are buried in fine print and checkbox agreements. Even after I paid the cancellation fee, their system kept asking me to pay again. This has honestly been one of the most frustrating gym membership experiences I've ever had.

When I signed my contract with Blink Fitness, there was no disclosure that I would be required to…read moreown a smartphone and install an app to access the gym. Recently, they introduced a new "app-only" entry policy, which makes it impossible for me to use the services I already paid for. I use a push-button phone and deliberately avoid installing third-party apps for security reasons (I work in crypto). This practice is not just unfair it may violate Section 5 of the Federal Trade Commission Act, which prohibits "unfair or deceptive acts or practices." Changing contract terms after signing, without consent, is deceptive. On top of that, Blink Fitness only allows cancellation through the same app. This likely violates state consumer protection laws (for example, California's Automatic Renewal Law, Cal. Bus. & Prof. Code §17600, requires a "reasonable and accessible" method of cancellation). Restricting cancellation to an app-only option fails this test. In effect, Blink Fitness is blocking clients from both using and cancelling their memberships: which could also be considered a breach of contract. And when I raised this issue publicly, Blink deleted my comment instead of addressing it. That alone shows how they handle negative feedback. Consumers deserve transparency and fair treatment. If Blink can change the rules once, they can do it again - leaving you locked out of services you've paid for.
