Between August and December of 2019, I had four pedicures done by Julie at Diva Nails on Maple Road near Telegraph. I later discovered that I had fungal infections in at least four of my toes, all attributable to these pedicures, due most likely, I believe, to improperly sanitized instruments. The podiatrist who diagnosed my condition and is treating me told me one course of medical treatment covered by insurance entailed a significant risk of liver damage and that a safer laser treatment would cost $795 due to not being covered by insurance. Fortunately, I am able to pay for the laser treatment, but this does make the pedicures very expensive. I hope that posting this review will help other women avoid similar problems. read more

This place has no idea how to treat their customers. I walked in with my mother and they didn't even acknowledge us. After we stood awkwardly for a few minutes, they eventually asked us what we wanted. By then we had already decided we wouldn't patronize this business and we made our way back out the door. I recently just received an acrylic full set service from you last Sunday the 19th. To be very frank, this was one of the worst sets of acrylics that I have ever gotten. I am very familiar with acrylics and have gotten this service many times at your Diva Nails location. I am also familiar with the length I selected and have actually gotten longer before. I am very active as well, as I play soccer and spend a lot of time in the gym and other handheld task. Just within the first day of getting this set, one broke and I had to come back into your salon the NEXT day to get it fixed, which is not something that should be happening. Just this week, I have broken 4 nails that I have had for only a week. All of which broke doing simple tasks such as putting away clothes. Given that this week was Christmas I was mostly around family so I was not even participating in any activities that would cause damage to the nails. Acrylics are supposed to last up to 3 weeks and I have never broken so many nails within the first week for no reason. With all that being said, I just want to say in the future I hope you can do this service better especially given the price I paid about $86 for them to not even last the week, not a good feeling at all. I will not be returning to this salon and telling my friends and others that go to this salon not to return due to their poor service and customer care. read more

Do NOT go to Mimi!!! Pretends to do the work but she hardly does anything for your Mani or Pedi AND she reuses tools on clients, she does not use the cleaned tools readily available to her! This place has the WORST customer service. They just want your money. I went there to get a polish change and waited 30 min while I watched 3 people go ahead of me because they were getting shellac, which is a more expensive service. This is absolutely unfair and just because I was getting a less expensive service doesnt mean I have to wait longer. DO NOT GO TO THIS NAIL SALON!!! Horrible work ethics and service! Every time I go to this salon I call to make an appointment with a specific manicurist, and every single time I go for my appointment I never get who I requested. That is very poor business and not pleasing to the client. I make an appointment for a reason. The majority of the technicians are decent, but I have a preference on who I like the best. read more

Work is good enough, but the pricing is dynamic (never the same twice). I honestly don't think I'll be coming back again. I just cannot afford a mani and pedi at the same time here. I don't think the girls are making such a good living as the owners, and I always feel compelled to give a good tip. The girls seem almost embarrassed to accept a tip and are always looking over their shoulders. It reminds me of the news stories on human trafficking. The place is open 7 days a week and there are always customers. I don't see the necessity of changing and hiking the prices. My mom and I went to get pedicures. Hers was ok, mine started ten minutes after hers and ended ten minutes before hers. The nail tech did not greet me or say anything when she finished, just walked away. She half-assed everything, barely cut and filed nails, just seemed annoyed and unhappy. It was a bummer. I've been to diva nails a few times in the past. I usually go to Danny for my shellac. He does a decent job. I've tried dip powder at a different salon. Today I called and made an appointment for dip. I asked the owner( Cami) if she could recommend someone who new how to do dip powder well. She said "ya no problem" so I go in and get my dip powder done by one of the technicians. When she was getting ready to finish she used the shellac top coat and put me under the light. I said, "I thought you don't use shellac top coat and go under the light with dip powder" her answer was that's how some people do it! Then I go to pay and I realize my nails were bubbling. I showed it to the owner who said, "oh that sometimes happens" my response was that's exactly why I asked you to put me with a technician that new how to do dip powder accurately. Her response to me was " I've never had a problem with that technician before and you didn't ask for someone specific!!!!" Your right I didn't ask for anyone specific, because clearly I'm not psychic. It's your job to recommend someone who knows what their doing. Oh ya and my nails were really rough at the cuticles. To top it all off they charged me 75 for mani(dip) and pedicure. I used a gift card to pay( gift card was for 65) so I owed 10 more dollars. The credit card minimum was 10 dollars and I didn't have cash, so she charged me a 2 dollar processing fee. Pretty sad since I've been there a dozen times. I will say the owner did fix my nails( which she should've). Any ways they lost my business and anyone else I know that goes there! read more

Big disappointment. My cousin and I went here to get pedicures, and I only agreed to this place because I thought it was associated with another Diva Nails we have gone too. We walked in and noone said hello,  how are you or how can we help you. Finally someone asked what she wanted and just said "ok" we stood around awkwardly looking at colors for several minutes before someone finally walked up. Then to make matters worse. The pedicure was awful. I have a huge issue with file machines, they are usually uncleaned and damage the nail beds but that was her first go to. Then before soaking my feet she started cutting at my cuticles and using tools that usually come after cuticle remover is applied... NOPE. She just started cutting and I had to pull my feet away numerous times because it hurt. After a lackluster pedicure, my cousin paid and left the tip for both women (for which they tried to over charge by $40) but the nail tech came and tapped me with a wet glove asking if "I could pay her now". And to make matters worse, she clipped my cuticle too far and cut my foot so my toe is also sore. This was the strangest experience I've ever had so needless to say, I'd never go back to this location. read more

I just went here to get a dip manicure. I should have walked out as soon as she started but I gave her a second chance. I had dip on my nails and she was trying to pry it off with a fake nail. I told her I wanted her to soak them off like you're supposed to, which she finally did. She did not prep my nails properly and the polish started peeling off of my nails the very next day. Unfortunately I was going out of town and couldn't come back for them to fix it. I will never be back to this salon. I also came here a year or so ago to get shellac and I had a similar experience with the polish not lasting. There are so many other places nearby, choose one of them! read more

I just had my eyebrows waxed here. I called ahead, at the last minute. I was quickly helped. The girl was very sweet, and did a good job. The place is pretty and seems very clean. My only complaint is that you can't add a tip to your credit card. Not a huge deal, but for those of us that don't carry cash (me!) it would be great to have a heads up. This isn't posted anywhere in the salon. Apparently this has been the policy for years, but as someone new... how would you know? So beware- BRING CASH! I got a carelessly done shellac mani with the shellac on my cuticles, already peeling only hours after getting it done. My first and last visit to this salon. I got a polish change on my toes only because I had just gotten a pedicure days ago and wanted my toes to match my hands and the nail tech looked so annoyed even though I paid for and tipped for the service. I love going to the maple and telegraph location, very professional, and they do a fantastic job on my nails and toes every time I go. They also take really good care of my nails, trimming the cuticles, trimming my nails, and working on my feet. In fact my nails look very healthy when I take the nail polish off and they have not looked healthy the year before I started going to Diva nails. Very hardworking! read more

Worse pedicure I have ever had. Expensive in comparison to my favorite places and I was also charged $2 extra dollars than my pedicure neighbor not sure for what. My lady was grumpy and mean, my nails looked terrible and I was shuffled off to the dryer quickly and without a word. There are many amazing spas nearby find a better one! I actually visited location after I had been treated less than acceptable at the other location (maple & lahser). I am new to town and the realtor recommended this place. I had visited the maple & lahser location before and the experience was ok. It was around 10am and it was full of mom's taking loudly about their kids soccer games and PTA meetings. It was quite difficult to relax at all as they were speaking loudly while sitting right next to each other. Jenny did my nails and she was nice, but my toenail polish chipped 2 days later. My toenail polish NEVER chips!! So I was very unhappy with that, but I decided to give them another chance. Two weeks later I visited and Amy would be giving me my mani/pedi. When I asked for a menu of services she wasn't exactly excited about having to go get it and when I asked her if she would make my water a little warmer she looked at me like if I asked her another question she would chop my feet off. I was a little irritated, but being the optimistic person I am I thought maybe she's having a bad day. She returns to my chair with the menu of services and practically throws it at me, not to mention my water was still luke warm which I was NOT happy about. After reviewing the menu I ask can I get the 'pampered pedicure' (which is $60). She then tells me I can't get that with the Monday special ($45). So I ask if I can just get the $60 pedicure and pay for a manicure separately. She then reminds me of the price of the pedicure and tells me that a manicure a la cart is $16 and that makes $76, none of which did I ask her as I am not the perfect math student, but I can just certainly add $60+ $16. So, by this time I'm giving her a pretty blank stare. So I said 'I know that and that's what I want.' So she jerks herself up from the stool to go and retrieve the materials for the pedicure with a lot of what I believe to be attitude. At this point, the ladies seated next to us are looking from me to her trying to see how I'm going to respond. I keep my cool, even after she returns to my chair without the supplies b/c apparently they 'are out' of the materials used for this $60 pedicure. Of course, I am beyond irritated at this point and she is saying how a regular pedi would be better for me. I'm pissed at this point. I ask her to just do the pedicure. She finished in the now cold water and tells me to go to the table. I let her know that I don't need the manicure and pay for my pedicure and leave. I felt disrespected and like she gave me attitude for a reason unbeknownst to me. It was so bad the nail tech gave me a compliment as she could see me getting irritated. Needless to say I will not be going back to that location. I stopped at the Location on Maple and Telegraph to get my manicure and the guy apologized for Amy's behavior and only charged me the $10 to do my manicure to equal the $45 Monday special. It was quiet and relaxing so I made another appointment for next Monday, hopefully I'll be able to consider this my faithful spot. As long as I don't have to experience the treatment I received at the other location. I'd give the Maple and Lahser location no stars if I could and I'll give the location off of Telegraph 4 stars until further notice. read more

I went to Diva Nail because of the close location to my house. The last time I had a shellac - which is suppose to last 2-3 weeks. After 7 days the shellac peeled from two of my fingers. I went in to show them and the person barely looked at me. She kept organizing her things and said to me "cuticle grow too fast". She turned away and left me standing. I will definitely never go there again. I love this place! I moved from NYC to Birmingham and was thrilled to find this place on my first try. Cammie and her staff are lovely. My husband and I went twice a month for 1.5 years and from the first visit, Cammie remembered our names and stories. I never once had a bad experience here, the color selection for shellac is the best I have ever seen, and I always enjoyed my visits. We have since moved to LA and I am sad to say that I have yet to find a place that compares. Pretty good for a nail salon in the Detroit metro to beat out the shops in both NYC and LA, but in my experience they have! read more

Diva Nails is one of the places you should avoid while in the Southeastern Michigan. Especially the Maple and Lasher location. This place that only serves for local gossip and prejudice of people. Very disappointed with my experience. The nail tech (young man) rushed me out. I made an appointment and he rushed my manicure pedicure just because he had another appointment. I came back to the place after a good experience the first time, with the extra steps they did, but he missed the steps and charged me the same price. I complained to the store manager, Kim and she just said he did what he needed to do. Without any kind of persuasion for me to return. Needless to say I will not be coming back. If I had a choice to give this place ZERO stars I would! I stopped coming to this place years ago and now I remember why. I was limited on time and couldn't drive to the place I usually go so I had to settle for Diva and I wish I would have taken the extra 15 minutes to drive to my normal place. I went back to show the manager - petite, skinny girl - she was downright defensive and rude and started blaming me telling me my nails were so short that I shouldn't expect a good result. I was merely going to ask her if she thought it was because I used OPI's new line of shellac colors! Wow! I won't be ever going back and have told the concierge at the Townsend to stop sending guests there (like me) because they are unprofessional and rude. I'm sad after several months of satisfied visits every 2 weeks to post this review. I usually see Jimmy for my pink and white nails and pedicures, and his work is flawless. If this review was for Jimmy, I'd give 5 stars. Unfortunately, I received very unsatisfactory service from another manicurist during my last visit for a backfill. It was late, I was the last one in the salon, and I didn't realize the service was substandard until I got home. Specifically, there were swirls of white acrylic in the base of 4 of my nails where they hadn't been scraped clean before the pink overlay, and the gel topcoat was bubbled/lumpy. I went back the next day to have it taken care of and was basically informed it was my fault because I've filled my nails too many times without getting a new set put on (I've had acrylics for years and never had any issues like this, and I've only filled this set 4 times). The manicurist was really angry when I expressed disappointment with the solution they offered (painting over the pink part of my nails with pink polish that still showed the spots) and told me if I wanted nails with no lines or spots, I should get a full set every time I come. What?! I wouldn't have any nail beds left if I did that! Bottom line is, I'm happy to pay $40 plus 20% tip every time for a fill if the service and finished product are nice. By mishandling this situation, Diva has lost a reliable customer. read more

WORST EXPERIENCE IN A NAIL SALON EVER. ATTEMPTING TO STEAL MY CREDIT CARD. I have been coming to this salon (Maple and Lahser Diva Nails) for over 4 years and I've almost always been happy with my mani or pedi. Today however, I had the worst experience and 100% will never go back!!!!! After paying with a card, I asked for change for cash also for her tip, but when she came back with my change and I signed the receipt, she never gave me my credit card back. She was talking to me and keeping me distracted so I wouldn't notice until after I had left. When I called asking if my card was there, Jack was extremely rude, didn't even take time to look for it, and believe the manicurist when she told him she "saw me put it into my purse". I knew my card was at the salon, so I returned and went to the station, looked on the ground, the chair, in baskets, and it wasn't there. I was complaining to the managers, who didn't seem to care my card was missing, when I said out loud I was going to cancel my card. Right after I said this, the manicurist who did my nails "found the card on the ground" when it wasn't there when I checked, and a woman told me she grabbed it out of her drawer. I am extremely disappointed in this salon, and will be telling all my friends not to come back here. I highly recommend Bloomfield Nails on Woodward as a great alternative to theft from Diva Nails. read more

This is the most unprofessional nail salon I've been to. I came in for a pedicure. The lady working on my pedicure didn't even ask me how short to cut them, unlike a normal salon. When she finished them, I looked at my toes and the toes one foot were shorter than the other. She literally cut them into stubs. When I told her, she tried to add more polish to the nails that were already stubs. I told the lady that I was very unhappy so she called over her manager, Lilly. Lilly is the most unpleasant woman I have met. I told her I was unhappy with my toenails and she was yelling at me that the lady cut them short on accident. She acted like giving me a $5 discount was giving me the world. You dont cut nails short "on accident", especially if your a "professional". Lilly is more concerned about her $20,000 watch than her customers. I would never recommend anyone to go this salon. The owner is extremely rude and does not deserve your business. read more

I will NEVER return to this salon. The owner Lily and her husband Jack were disgustingly rude to my daughter, her friend and me. The girls told them what they wanted, mani/pedi, but they only painted the nails. No big deal really but my daughter was upset. Upon paying I mentioned to Jack the girls were a little disappointed because they wanted the full treatment. I told the salon what they wanted on the phone when I called and they told me to come in 15-20 minutes. I notified them when the girls were there. I use the same place and tip $30-40 each visit. I wrote it on the walk in sheet what they wanted and my daughter told them. Jack was very upset when I said they were not happy. I said it's fine, I just wanted you to know. He then turned Lily and she started yelling in the salon about how she doesn't "knee ow mahnee" and we are just "a prabem". The salon was full and silent. I even knew people there. My daughter's father had just past and I was taking her and her friend to take her mind off things and for a special treat. I spoke to a few people about the experience after. Apparently we are not alone, Lily has done this to other people. She told my friend that she didn't need her money either and that nobody liked her. She told another friend of mine she messes up her appointments and doesn't need her money either. I think it's something to think about before you give them your business because you never know when they might nah knee it. read more
