The co-owner Keri, helped me with a large blanket I was working on where a stitch had fallen off several rows behind where I was working on straight needles. She spent a good deal of time pulling out several rows to correct & then put me in circular needles-which she just gave me to finish my blanket. She went above & beyond to help me, was kind, generous with her time incredibly helpful and provided excellent instructions to help prevent my mishap from happening again! This is the only knitting store I will ever go to in Port Townsend!!! Thanks again Keri!

This is just a tiny slip of a shop that sells authentic native American objects and art. It's a sort of place that's fun and small enough to allow you to examine everything they have. To boot, the owners, Gary and his wife Hannah are wonderful people. If you have the time and you're there, when Gary is manning the store, he will share knowledge and history of the Lakota Tribe. I love going in here! Last time I purchased a Lakota warrior breast plate made by Gary himself. It's just beautiful.

A creative space? All of the above and also stationery, jewelry, accessories, art materials, books, and more. This shop is owned by two sisters and opened in November 2022. They host workshops in a small back room. There are so many lovely things to see. I can't wait to go back again. When I visited in October the windows were hung with marigold paper chains and mannequins dressed in vintage Halloween masks. It was an unexpected surprise on my day trip into town. I only came away with some hand dyed silk ribbons and washi tape, but so many fresh ideas as well.

I was able to speak a bit with one of the owners, Catherine, and she was just lovely, and so so knowledgeable about the artists they represent and the items they sell. Who knew Seattle had such amazing little fabric shops tucked away in its neighborhoods?? Not me --…read moreI have sadly been relying on places like etsy for my fashion fabrics for wayyy too long. No longer! I dropped in two weeks ago and was floored by the selection of silks, linens, shirting cottons, wools, and knits. Are you looking for a Calvin Klein wool? Silk duponi? French cotton? Italian shirting cotton? She has it. If you're looking for a sequined knit, a sheer crepe de chine, a lightweight wool crepe... she also has it. Frankly I'm amazed at the size and quality of her selection, especially for the small size of the storefront. The owner has all the long 60" rolls of silk and linen up against one wall, which makes for a beautiful display and shopping experience. You can get a sense of the scale of the pattern as well as the weight, and drape of the fabric without ever having to make a scene unrolling and clumsily holding up a bolt of fabric. I found a beautiful silk that was patterned with the NY city skyline, and have been dreaming of it ever since. My first visit, I found a beautiful patterned french cotton remnant that I sewed into a beautiful apron for my cousin...unlike most quilting cottons, it's the kind of patterned cotton that doesn't have a discernible repeat, and it has thrilled each and every one of my friends who has come over and seen it on my sewing table. My next visit I brought a friend, and she found a beautiful textured black nettle fabric from Nepal that will make an amazing statement skirt -- it has a subtle gold sheen to it and looks just like something you'd find at Anthropologie. Even better, it was only $8/yard. That's right, in addition to stocking high end $40/yd fabrics, the shop has a lot of amazing options for those on a budget, too. The owner has even thoughtfully packaged "made boxes" where you can buy a prepacked box of fabric and notions that you will need to take one of the beginner classes at Made. What a great way to introduce someone to sewing -- now they don't need to worry about picking the wrong fabric type or yardage for their project! Additionally, the owner is super thoughtful. I found a snakeskin print that I liked that I thought might work for a Halloween costume, if it came in green. The owner called the manufacturer for me, determined that it didn't, and remembered to tell me so on my next visit in. She even offered to keep an eye open for me on her next trip to the LA fashion district. Ladies and gentlemen, you CANNOT beat that service!

The male owner of the shop was very hostile to me and my friend as soon as we walked in. In…read morecontrast, he was very welcoming to the other white customers that entered the store. He was watching us almost obsessively the entire time we were there and seemed annoyed when I asked to see something that was in the case. After taking a look, I decided against purchasing the item that I was looking at, as the ring was too small for me. I thanked him for getting it out of the case and he accused me of stealing. It is important to note that he required me to come to the front of the store to try them on, which is understandable. However, he did not ask the white women who wished to look at earrings only mere minutes before me. I calmly explained to him that I had not and emptied my pockets onto the counter and told him he was welcome to look through my small purse. He insisted that I stole one of the rings even after I politely showed him everything inside my purse. No sort of an apology was given and I promptly left, as racist establishments do not deserve my business. I would highly recommend to avoid this place if you are a minority, unless you want to be accused of stealing!
