He got it done in under 15 minutes, but since the minimum cost is 1hr if labor, he offered to answer questions and check out other issues that I didn't expect. Prices are standard for trustworthy, quality, union work in the area ($135 min fee just for coming out and 1hr of labor, plus more for parts). Of course you can hire an unlicensed handyman to handle little electrical jobs like replacing an outlet, but if you need something more significant done, I can honestly recommend chilson to do a fair work.

We have had Vertechs relocate light fixtures in our ceiling and walls as well as relocate and add fire detectors. They have serviced our breaker box as well as interior and exterior outlets. Their technicians have always been polite, respectful and informative when explaining the issues they have discovered and how they conducted the repairs. Last week they were at our home as we were having issues with original outlets installed by the builder shutting off and becoming extremely hot. The problem was taken care of the same day I called as the issues were very serious to me. I really like the fact that I am informed of their progress and proximity to my home when they are coming to the house to conduct repairs. I also have 18 foot ceilings in parts of the home as well as in the stairway to the second floor and they are the only company I have found who will come out to change lightbulbs and smoke detector batteries at those ceiling heights. We had Master's ground and check out our outlets in the home we were purchasing, which went fine…read more Fast forward to about 6 months later, we were experiencing a breaker tripping to a couple rooms in the house. I called to check if they had a warranty on their work, and was told someone would come out to take a look. (Mind you, I had to call twice - the first appointment that was set up was somehow overlooked.) When the guy came out, it was determined it "could be" the sump pump, but wasn't likely. He checked the outlet it was plugged into with a circuit tester, which tripped the outlet. We also plugged the sump pump into a different outlet altogether, and the original one was still tripping. So, not the sump pump. I received an invoice for $129 - saying they determined the sump pump was the problem. They did eventually comp the bill for us, but before they did I had to receive a talking to as how "service calls work" and that they can't just send someone out without charging. I know how service calls work. The issue is about integrity and standing behind your work. It seems like they didn't want to put in the effort to figure out the problem, so they blamed it on the sump pump. If your work left a faulty connection/breaker/outlet, it should be fixed.
