Our HVAC system (heater) stopped working on the day after Christmas (a Friday). I called different HVAC companies and nobody picked up the phone. I called Renaud and they picked up on the first ring. A service tech (Gary) showed up at our house in Kalama within 45 minutes. He diagnosed the problem within a few minutes: a blown 3 amp fuse in the furnace blower section (in the garage) caused by a frayed wire in the bottom of the condenser unit (outside the house). He took the lid off of the condenser unit, climbed inside, repaired the damaged wire; all while it was raining. He replaced the fuse, and we were back online in less than 30 minutes. The service call and work was less than $300 and we were very pleased with Gary's professionalism and expertise. The price was affordable and we're grateful to Renaud. read more

Just had my TRANE electronic air cleaner replaced with a new one by RENAUD Electric. They sent Mike Doan (tech) to do the job. Gotta say, I was VERY IMPRESSED! A somewhat difficult removal of the old unit took some extra effort, but he nevertheless had what it took to overcome the problem.The installation part was a breeze and went well. The final result was a better install than the original because of his attention to detail. Shout out to RENAUD ELECTRIC for having Mike on the payroll. I will definitely be a RENAUD customer! Portable generator - Renaud has communication issues. But everyone there is very nice to deal with. And they are responsive to issues once you have their attention. I had previously written a review before the company started addressing several issues. They have since been dealt with. But I am unable to find the review. Therefore this updated version. (I sent a draft of this review to two contacts at Renaud 10 days ago, giving them an opportunity to respond before I posted it. I have not heard back.) We purchased a Generac generator from Renaud Electric and felt that we got good service and a fair price, so when we were in the market for a heat pump we signed on with them again. The results have been very disappointing. The technicians who installed our system had not worked on that model before and were unable to complete the job - leaving us without air conditioning on a very hot day and night, before the supervisor came out and fixed it. I had to argue with the supervisor in order to get him to insulate drainage tubing from the condensate pump - which I knew would freeze without insulation, halting the system on the coldest days when it was needed most. The installers damaged the soffit of our house. They promised that a contractor would come fix it, but apparently that was not communicated to the right people until I called. And the system failed inspection by the city (though, to be fair, the fix was easy once they came out to do it). I had the sense that, had I paid for the job before everything was done, they wouldn't have fixed the problems. That's not the worst of it, though. Our heat pump failed on a Saturday during the storm of January, 2024, on an extremely cold day. I called the emergency number for Renaud. When I reached the technician and asked if he could come out, he just laughed - explaining that Renaud is based in Longview, Washington, and there was no way he could drive here during the storm. (That was true - but I thought that they would have techs based in Portland, given that they seem to do a lot of business in Portland.) I pleaded with him to help with troubleshooting over the phone, and he did come up with a solution, switching from the heat pump to "emergency heat" (the backup gas furnace). That worked, fortunately. It took over a week to get a technician out to look at what went wrong. During that week, I tried the heat pump again and it seemed to work, but we clearly needed some troubleshooting. Technicians were scheduled but called last minute to say they'd be 1-2 hours late, at times when we couldn't wait around. Finally, we made a 9 AM appointment, figuring the first appointment of the day would be on time. He arrived around 10:15 AM. He said the problem was the thermostat. According to him, there was a service bulletin sent by the manufacturer to everyone who owned a system, telling us about an adjustment we needed to make in the thermostat. Since we hadn't done that, he'd have to charge us for the visit. The charge: $298, for a system less than a year old with a 7-year warrantee. I checked with the manufacturer. They do not send service bulletins to homeowners, only to the dealer - who is then responsible for notifying customers. And it's not clear that there was ever a service bulletin about the thermostat, anyway. Bottom line: If you live in Longview, this company may provide good service. If you live in Portland, don't count on it. And beware their charges. read more

The manager, Gary, called and said that since I was promised a new filter for my mini split that they were going to order me a new filter to replace the one that was broken. I'm glad that they are going to show integrity as a business and replace the broken filter. This can help earn my trust back. read more

Good lord. Do not use this company. They came for a service call, tech seemed quite confused about the refrigerant so I tried to get more info about it from the other service company who had done prior work. This apparently hurt his feelings? His communication about the issue was poor. He said he'd write a bid and send it to me. He packed up and left, but also left the system entirely shut down. I called to ask them to come back and leave the system as it was so I could use the the house fan at least. Kimber Lioni's, office staff, must have been told something by the tech about me calling their competitor, trying to help, because she was incredibly rude. She got mad at me for trying to help and blamed me for the tech leaving my house worse than he found it. Her attitude was awful, Country, and she then decided to cover her ass with the owner Buck Allen. Who was also rude, discourteous and essentially a death knell for that company. He could have solved the issue with ease and aplomb. Instead he was underhanded and a jerk. They also charge more than their competitors (who actually know what to do.) DONT USE THIS COMPANY. I'm sure they'll chime in here with some BS "reasoning" like they do with all their complaints (and there are lots) Edit to respond to your comment : your tech did not explain anything about the furnace or coils ice. He said the issue wasn't up in the attic. He did mention that the coolant needed to be repaired and refilled. However, he took my attempt to get further info to help as me having an issue with him. He then left without doing the right thing. He also didn't intentionally leave the system down. He blew the fuse when he jump started the condenser outside and then didn't ensure he left the system as he found it. Then he went back to the shop and complained about the experience. The shop scheduler Kimber then attacked me. For asking for them to fix what they broke. And then the owner attacked me because his staff let their hurt feelings taint their work. This could very well have been clarified by the tech had he been a professional adult. The lies and garbage behavior of this team is just that. The also tried to tell me that the tech intended to leave the system off. He made numerous attempts to explain why I had to be wrong and his tech was right. When it was apparent the tech had lied. Absolutely terrible customer service and ownership. You all should be ashamed. Maybe talk to your tech Gary about the conversation he had with my wife when he had to come back to fix his mistake. Or how he told other tech with him that he hadn't touched the unit outside, which he then had to admit he had. Thankfully your older and more professional tech was able to get him to fix it. Only when he was confronted about it by us did he finally get it that we had no issue with him, UNTIL he failed to do his job properly, and his complaints. Kimber should know better than to let a tech's complaints flavor her work. You can dislike your customer, but you can't treat them this way. You should have a team conversation about this and get your facts straight. Do the right thing. read more

AWFUL. they cleaned/recharged and ruined our a/c unit. YEAH, YEAH...finally have time FINALLY to address issue. THEY SUCK!!! Oh, they know what they're doing, they set you up for failure. I unfortunately chose Renaud Electric as my living room had lost power. I was told it would be an after hour charge, which I anticipated as I needed power in my living room. The technician arrived at 3:30, he was wearing a mask which was pulled down below his nose. I explained what had happened to Tom, he checked the breaker box and realized that a breaker had flipped and I was trying to reset the incorrect breaker. He also checked the current of one outlet. Today I received a bill for $192 for a technician to be at my home for 15 minutes with his mask below his nose in the midst of a pandemic. I don't have a problem paying the bill, what I have a problem with is the fact this company would think it's okay to charge anybody $192 for 15 minutes of work. It was also noted on the bill Tom told me not to overload the circuit, which he did not. I can't recommend Renaud Electric because I find billing an astronomical amount of money for 15 minutes of work is dishonest and it would lead me to believe they likely do this to others who are on a very fixed income such as the elderly. read more

If there was a rating lower than a one star, I would give it. If you are forced to use this company for emergency services, buyer beware. My mother is elderly and on a fixed income. She cared for my father for the last ten years of his life, due to dementia, and wanted him to have air conditioning. After his death a few years ago, she began to have problems with her thermostat. It was thirty years old, so she called Renaud and asked if they could replace it with a digital one. The worker came and had the thermostat replaced within ten minutes. My mother had been outside and when she came in to see if he was done a few minutes later, she found him in her bedroom. When she asked him what he was doing in her room, he said he was, "Checking the air flow from the vent." She received a bill for $1,000!!!! I am not making this up. We negotiated the price down to $500, but I can install a thermostat and had I been there and known, I would have done that. Who takes advantage of the elderly like that??? read more

I can't recommend this business. Apart from the office staff either not talking to each other or being thoroughly confused, the work that was done for me wasn't great. 1. The electrician who came out to install a new outlet for my garbage disposal broke the baseboard under my dishwasher. 2.The VP of Renaud offered to discount my invoice, which I accepted. 3. Problems and misunderstandings then happened regarding the amount of the discount. This required numerous emails and phone calls. 4. Once the amount was agreed on, I sent a check. It wasn't cashed for over a month and I didn't know that the check wasn't at Renaud until I got a "past due" bill. 5. I called the next day and told them that if they got the check (I even gave them the check number) not to cash it because I was sending them a second check. 6. Guess what? They cashed it anyway. They received the second check but didn't tell me that they were going to send it back to me until I called the office AGAIN. 6.More phone calls. When I physically went to their office to pick up the second check, they had no idea where it was. A manager finally found it on a desk somewhere. 7.I wrote to the VP to explain my unhappiness with the service and communication and have not heard back from him. Renaud just finished putting in a standby electric generator at my house. I am totally satisfied with the work they did and how they treated me. Everyone can be really nice when things go well, but you really find out about people's character when you see how they react to things that go wrong. Through a miscommunication that wasn't really anyone's fault, Renaud installed a generator at my house that was much louder than I expected. When I talked to them about the problem, they worked with me and replaced the loud generator with a quieter one, and only charged me for the difference in price. Not only does Renaud do great, high-quality work, but you can TRUST them. read more

I had used Renaud for all of my electric and heat pump issues for personal and rental homes but no longer. The electric issue was relatively an easy fix but billing time was very excessive. Made me wish I was there to make them accountable for the work done. I asked for them to check the heat pump thermostat in the same room but they did not and said that required another technician. The technician went to the wrong address then they sent me a bill for that as well. The Heat pump issue turned out to be an electrical issue with the switch. They could have handled that. The Heat Pump competitor I called was much more timely, provided better customer service and a much more reasonable price. Renaud is more interested in billing than providing good service for a reasonable price. read more

I had them come out to diagnose a problem at our rental home. The technician (Bill) quoted me over the phone $1500 to repair it and flat out said he didn't even think it would work after that. He then said basically everything is shot (furnace/heat pump) and to get a new unit would cost $7000. I let him know my husband was out of town for work and normally handles these things but since he's not home I had to. I felt like he took advantage of me because I have no knowledge about these things. I called other companies and was treated with respect! We got the problem fixed for $300 and everything works great! They took the time to break down what was wrong and how to fix it. I have been using Renaud for years but again they had always dealt with my husband. I refused to pay the $99 diagnostic fee since it was clearly WRONG. They mailed the bill/quote for repair to the rental home instead of our house. When I called to let them know how I felt the guy, named Buck, I believe, was RUDE. He didn't care what I had to say and basically shamed the companies who helped us. He doesn't have good customer service skills and said he will pursue getting the money from us because what they quoted as was valid....NEVER doing business with them again. They don't even care. Also, they denied coming out for the past few years to even service it at all. Yet I have cleared checks and receipts I use for write offs.....STAY AWAY read more
