This summer I turned it back on again, it ran for a couple days and started leaking again and I thought, huh, this is weird. So instead of calling for a service fee, it is the weekend I went online, went to YouTube,and saw how to take the thing apart. I noticed that the drain tube for the condenser was not hooked up to the drain PAN. So every time it was working, the water wasn't going anywhere, except for down the front of our wall. Anyway, long story short, I'm sure it was just to skip over, but if your unit is dripping, take it apart and make sure that the back of the drip PAN is hooked into the condenser water line probably using wrong terminology.

I called Renaud and they picked up on the first ring. A service tech (Gary) showed up at our house in Kalama within 45 minutes. He diagnosed the problem within a few minutes: a blown 3 amp fuse in the furnace blower section (in the garage) caused by a frayed wire in the bottom of the condenser unit (outside the house). He took the lid off of the condenser unit, climbed inside, repaired the damaged wire; all while it was raining. He replaced the fuse, and we were back online in less than 30 minutes. The service call and work was less than $300 and we were very pleased with Gary's professionalism and expertise. The price was affordable and we're grateful to Renaud.

He got it done in under 15 minutes, but since the minimum cost is 1hr if labor, he offered to answer questions and check out other issues that I didn't expect. Prices are standard for trustworthy, quality, union work in the area ($135 min fee just for coming out and 1hr of labor, plus more for parts). Of course you can hire an unlicensed handyman to handle little electrical jobs like replacing an outlet, but if you need something more significant done, I can honestly recommend chilson to do a fair work.

They fixed an aging air conditioner and fairly recently replaced my gas furnace and air conditioner. It was 29 degrees the day of service and I offered to postpone the service. They came anyway. They came a year later to do a courtesy check on the furnace and decided to wait for the check on the air conditioner when it would be more obvious that it was working as it should. Before they installed the new equipment I had asked if they would install an automatic cutoff device on the gas in case of an earthquake. They said they don't usually do that and I was okay with that. Then they called and said they had found the device and would be happy to install it. Recently I noticed that I had a lot of cold air coming in the cabinet above the stove microwave. I had had my roof replaced by Evergreen Renovations and Roofing and suspected that they hadn't hooked up the ducting and vent correctly. I had called the roofer and was told it wasn't their responsibility to hook it up but they would do it as a courtesy if the ducting was flexible. Western Heating and Cooling shared my thought that if you unhook somethinbg, you should reattach it. I didn't know who to call but I asked Western Heating and Cooling if they could check it out. While the roofer showed me a photo of a rigid ducting, the HVAC people showed me a photo of the ducting with a large hole in it. Once again, the weather wasn't ideal for them coming out. It was supposed to get to 102 degrees and I was concerned about their safety in my attic. They still came out, fixed the problem and even did some nice work inside the house around the duct in the cabinet above the microwave. I was thrilled. I asked if that job was something they would usually do and was told that, no, it wasn't. but they would do what need to be done to help me. They are polite and thoughtful about my property and keep me updated as to when they are going to arrive and, unless, there is a problem on the road, they have been prompt. I have recommended Western Heating and Cooling to many people and would highly recommend it to anyone needing their services.
