Called service technician he said tow truck driver never dropped off keys. Once again called tow truck dispatcher she said she would call pettyjohns . We drove to Bethany, MO from where we live North of Lineville, Iowa to say we were on our way. Cody the technician said they found the car in lot. The tow truck driver had told me when he picked up car that the office would email receipt to me Monday. I told him I needed receipt to turn into insurance company for reimbursement. Monday called dispatcher said, "would email receipt in 15 minutes." Waited when no response drove to there office in Lamoni, Iowa picked up receipt. Their customer service is terrible. No competition. 5 stars is not enough! Google should change their rating system so that we can properly rate top tier businesses such as Big 12 Towing. To be completely honest, I'm not sure there are enough stars in the galaxy to reflect the level of service, professionalism and compassion I received. You might be thinking "calm down Justin, there's no way a towing company deserves these kind of accolades." To which I would say you can just shut the heck up, because they deserve every bit of this and more! I made multiple calls looking for a company that could get me & my car 2 hours back to Omaha. I was shopping around because times are tough and who doesn't want to save some money. Most answered and the quotes were around the same price but no one seemed right. One in particular, Crow Tow or Blow Tow, could not have cared less. They were the stereotypical nasty tow company. Luckily next on the list was Big 12 Towing. The voice that answered instantly caught me off guard. It was warm, engaging, and within about thirty seconds I could tell Wayne actually cared about my situation. My stress level dropped immediately. Wayne was thoughtful, informative and most of all, willing and ready to go. I instantly felt my day was getting better. He quoted me the lowest of all the groups and wasn't pushy. He didn't feed me some doomsday scenario that made me feel I needed to act now. He simply noted when I'm ready, they would be too. Even though I was value shopping, I believe had BTT quoted me more than the others, I still would have went with Wayne and his crew just based on the overall feeling -- and this was just the phone call! What came next blew me away. I went to the agreed upon meet up & saw the flatbed truck with the Big 12 logos on the doors. First impression was this crew is on point & you can tell they care about their equipment. They easily passed the eye test. The driver enthusiastically waved me into the passenger door and I was greeted by T.J. He was an extension of the good vibes I felt on the phone. Warm. Inviting. Caring. When I learned they were father / son, it all made sense. T.J. made me feel so welcome I had almost forgot why we were in his truck driving back to Omaha. Also shout out to the truck. The interior was clean, comfortable, smelled nice & was extremely organized. T.J. had all the chargers I needed, gave me a lower back lumbar cushion and insisted if I was tired after the long day, that I should nap & he wouldn't have cared or been offended. I'm not gonna lie, when getting quotes, there was a part of me thinking about how I would be spending a couple hours with this person so hopefully they wouldn't disappoint. Again, BTT shattered expectations. Normally I'd spend that two-hour ride obsessing over everything that just happened. Instead, I was relaxed, laughing, & honestly having a good time. Looking back, none of what happened that day was normal. I was stranded in the middle of Iowa, needed a vehicle hauled across state lines, & somehow ended up spending two hours laughing & swapping stories with a guy I had just met who felt like family, or a brother from another at the very least. That's not what most people expect when they think of a towing company. Wayne, TJ, & the rest of the crew at Big 12 Towing didn't just move a vehicle. They completely changed my perspective on an industry that doesn't always have the best reputation. They treated me like family, took incredible care of my vehicle, charged me less than anyone else I spoke with, & somehow made one of the worst days I've had in a while feel a whole lot better. So yes, this review is long. But when someone exceeds your expectations this much, they earn every word. If you're in Des Moines or the surrounding area & need a tow, stop searching. The broken fuel pump meant that you had to completely remove the fuel tank on this very large van. Most shops were unwilling to even take it at all. East Side stepped up and agreed not only to take the van but to get it done the next morning. The young man they sent with the tow truck was quick and professional. We got a cab and headed to the hotel. East Side got to work on the van and were partically done by time we got there the next day. They completed the work quickly and professionally. Their charge was more then reasonable and we were on our way home by lunch. I cannot thank East Side enough for how they were willing to step up and help us out.
