Lo-and-behold they could get the part on order from Germany and even drove up to Des Moines with a trailer to pick me up! From there it just got better. The staff went out of their way to accommodate me, helping me store my luggage and giving me a desk to sit at. A couple of employees, upon hearing my story, even offered to let me stay with them! -- and let's be honest here, a Hall sensor is not exactly a big ticket item. When part came in the next morning the BMW tech had it installed and wired by the time I caught a ride from the manager back into town. Now I'm no spring chicken when it comes to bikes and I've dealt with my fair share of good shops. NONE of them come close to the experience I had with VanWall. If you ride bikes, atvs, or scooters do yourself a favor and pay them a visit!

My 16 year old took his dirt bike into Hicklin Power Sports in Grimes to see if they could do some…read morediagnostics on it to see why it wouldn't start. He asked them not to take the bike apart unless they were able to put it back together as part of the diagnostic work. When he went to pick his bike up, the entire motor had been removed and was in parts (the main parts were in a box and then there were 4 large bags of bolts and other small parts also). Hicklin charged him $500 for the diagnostic work and then said it would be another $4000 to put the bike back together. As a result his bike has been sitting unusable in the garage for several months. Hicklin Power Sports completely took advantage of a child and put him in a position where he would be forced to pay $4500 to fix his bike, unless he knew how to fix it himself.
