However, having just gotten back from my appointment, I can happily say that I had an AMAZING experience and it was well worth the extra money. Shane started with a consultation, asking what I was looking for and his thoughts on what might fit my lifestyle best. After shampooing/conditioning my hair, making the cut, and styling it, my hair was nearly 6 inches shorter, now resting neatly at my shoulders. Even though I walked in unsure of what I wanted, Shane was able to make my hair look incredible in under an hour while making good conversation. Upon leaving, I received a "goody bag" of business cards, a pen, magnet, and even a 20% off coupon for my next visit! If the smallest of points is left in my hair I will absolutely know it. This is particularly a problem with people with thick hair. CARLEY is one of their star stylists with long thick hair herself - she knows first hand the problems with cutting thick hair, losing your guide and texturing nightmares. She does a great job and has a super sweet personality to go with it. She also does extensions! I have also gone to STEPHANIE quite a lot. Stephanie specializes in curly hair and has always done a wonderful job. I love both of these ladies! I started going to Uniquely You back in about 2003. I was introduced to an awesome lady named Olga, and she is amazing! Her personality is always bubbly even when she is running around like crazy, and her skills are phenomenal. When I first went to see Olga, I had long brown hair, and I was in the "DON"T CUT TOO MUCH OFF," portion of my life. Well we played with some color, and she convinced me to cut off the dead ends. I don't know what type of crazy magic this girl pulled, but by the end of that year I had hair up to my cheek bones that went from boring brown to a platinum paradise. Talk about bombshell. Between the two ladies I have gone to (April is listed in another review...) I never feel more beautiful than when I leave the chair of either one of these two ladies. I tell Olga all the time that she is a hair ninja. She comes up with crazy ideas that I never would have thought of, and I used to go to her and tell her to do whatever she pleased because I KNEW the results would come out fantastic, and what she determined looked awesome, looked much better than any of my plain ol ideas. Olga will tell you if a cut or color isn't right. She is creative, and will ask you if you are sure before any drastic changes. For the amazing work that she does, she should be charging much more than what she does...(but I'm of course, glad that she doesn't.) I moved to NC and I seriously just flew back into town to visit people and managed to squeeze in for an appointment with her. I have gone to a stylist here, but so far none have held a candle to either of my ladies. So to Olga, thank you for making me feel beautiful and for being so amazing at what you do. I made my appointment and was eager to have a new style. I was very specific with Erin (the manager and stylist who was cutting my hair) and showed her what I wanted. However, I ended up to the point of tears due to the horrible hair cut I received. It did not look like what I had asked for, she didn't listen to what I had to say about my hair, and it was an awful experience. She did apologize at the end, but neither the manager (Erin) nor the shop owner, who was there, bothered with anything besides, "I know your not happy with your haircut." Really? Now I'm stuck with an awful haircut until it grows out enough to get the layers blended without losing more length. I definitely do NOT recommend this salon!

Upon arrival in store, I was greeted promptly and given a bottle of water by the owner. Afterwards, my stylist, Kiarra, took great care of me and did a wonderful job on the highlights in my hair! The color was matched perfectly to the reference pic I showed her. She was super gentle and detailed throughout all stages. Also, since I'm a perfectionist she helped me with some touch ups and was very thorough in helping catch any places that needed additional fixing. I love that she was super empathetic and understanding about getting every single hair detail just right until I was satisfied (I've definitely noticed other stylists in the past seeming annoyed about fixing up and redoing an area)! They were also able to accommodate me after work same day and gave me some recommendations on products and extensions! Really loved coming here! Recently I had a negative experience, but the manager at West Chester has truly done everything in her power to fix the stylists mistake. I am so thankful for the amazing customer service I have received since. Long story short, I had a stylist over process my hair to the point at which it was falling out. I was devastated, not only did I have to cut off 5 inches of my hair (Instead of the original plan of 2inches) my hair was fried and breaking close to the root. I immediately requested a refund! So I'm sure your wondering why I've chosen to give this location 4 stars. Well, after my experience, one of the managers called me and not only offered me services to fix the damage at no cost, but also created a care package (at no cost) of the full Oribe haircare line to work on fixing the damage! These products are amazing and very expensive and I was so appreciative that she has taken the time to fix a mistake one of her (former) stylists made. Although I'm devastated that my hair experienced such trauma- I'm also so grateful for the management for working with me constantly to bring my hair back to life.

The next day I received a very nasty and unprofessional text from Fran that was completely uncalled for. I was shocked that someone who relies on clients to have a job would be so unprofessional. I have been a long time client of hers and even gave her the benefit of the doubt back in September when she cut my hair so uneven that several people noticed and I had to return to get it fixed.
