When I bought the building it was managed by liberty property management. Lights were duck taped to the wall. Holes in the walls. Crumbling walls from moisture. Garbage from the 1990s was still in the basement. Rental stamps must be purchased every year in Hammond. The stamps were not purchased since before 2019. The property was very dirty and run down. The whole staff dodges any calls I make because I have an issue with the sale. They said they had good tenants in the building but I ended up evicting one for squatting and they caused 20k worth of damaged and had 4 unknown people living in the house. One of them threatened my life in front of Hammond police. I have it all on video. When I took possession of the property they immediately reduced their commission from 10% to 8.5%. I didn't even have to think twice about passing on their offer. All this company does is collect owners money and does zero Maintence. Fire extinguishers expired before 2019, there were cheaters on most of the outlets so they appeared grounded to pass inspection dead/no batteries in the fire detectors and they lied about the roof saying it was in excellent condition when I just had to pay 24K to replace it. Even the basement floods. I have nothing good to say about this company. I strongly suggest you avoid doing any business with them.

I discovered a basement that wasn't on the lease that had dead and alive cats in it. There were mice and roaches the blinds were broken and my water heater went out so me and my baby had to stay with family because we had no hot water for 3 days. I moved in to my unit march of last year and was told my deposit wasn't coming back in the full amount because I terminated it early. I was told my lease was up at the end of march when I asked about my money and I stated that technically that's a 13month lease not a 12 month lease and Cindy was the one that looked at my lease and told me my renewal information and everything then later tried to lie and say we never spoke about my notice and stated the property doesn't keep track of when tenants leases are up. It was a very long…read moreprocess for us, 8 months of sorting out neighborhoods and homes until the perfect home was found! We were new to Northwest Indiana, but Mr. Nathan Reeder helped us select an ideal city for us to consider during our home search. Mr Reeder is very knowledgeable, patient and friendly and advocates for his customers 100% through the real estate buying experience. He and the rest of his family own and operate this real estate company, so their heart and souls are invested in every business relationship they join. Since home buying can be very stressful and new to many, Mr. Reeder helped us remove some of those frustrations by giving us quality referrals for other services, including an excellent mortgage broker and home inspector. Communication was always prompt, professional and best suited to meet our busy schedules. I can tell you that many realtors out there are very superficial, fake, or pushy when it comes to closing a deal, but like a true professional that Nathan Reeder is, he made almost every other realtor out there pale in comparison to his business ethic and knowledge; we were always confident in his abilities to help us find a great home! Because of his excellent business, we will refer family and friends wishing to become part of the Northwest Indiana community to Reeder Realty!

Our thought process was to rent a property in the area for a year or so while we worked to save and put a down payment on a home we would purchase. I found a really nice little house located in Lake Station Indiana, and decided to call the advertisement. I spoke with Kelly Randall who told me about the property at which point my daughter and I made arrangements to take a drive and take a look. We decided we wanted it- and I let Kelly know that we needed to move on the 15th of February 2015. We went through her credit/background check process and were approved. At which point we decided to enter into a lease agreement on February 14th after having provided Kelly with $1800 of our hard earned money. When it was all said and done imagine my surprise when I received a text from Kelly asking me when I would want to move in as the property wouldn't be ready for another week! My husband and I took a drive to Lake Station to inspect the property on the day our lease was to commence February 14th, Kelly was NOT at the property but instead there were a bunch of workers whom we did not know. When she showed up my husband was livid - to the point he could not even speak. She went on to tell us how we could move "big ticket" items in and provide us with the keys- there was NO WAY that I was going to move my personal property into a home where there are workers coming in and out. The property was NOT livable and a filthy mess! Every day after that I was in communication with her to only have her tell me that more and more work was going to need to be done.. and how they would be finished almost a week after my lease started. There was a clause in the lease stating that if the landlord failed to provide us possession within 5 calendar days that we could expect a full refund of all money paid. On the fifth day I contacted Kelly to let her know that we wanted take advantage of our right to void the lease as the property was not ready for us to move in. She stated to me on the phone (recorded call at work) that this would not be an issue as she had an overwhelming response and she would talk to the property owner and give us a call back. We waited over twenty four hours to hear back from her, but prior to that as you can imagine the property was promptly re-listed. Since then she refuses to answer calls, emails, texts. We just came back from the Lake Station police department to make them aware of the situation- furthermore she is practicing business in Munster Indiana WITHOUT a proper business license. DO NOT LOOSE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY she is a con-artist and it is my thought now that she intended to defraud me, knowing I had to be out of my current residence, causing me to loose money and have to pay to stay longer, and low and behold as of now she is unresponsive, but still has our money. We have no where to live. She willfully entered into a lease agreement for a property that was not move in ready and charged me rent while she was in there doing work! I have now been to the police station, contacted the Indiana attorney general, BBB, among other agencies. Buyer beware!
