Our thought process was to rent a property in the area for a year or so while we worked to save and put a down payment on a home we would purchase. I found a really nice little house located in Lake Station Indiana, and decided to call the advertisement. I spoke with Kelly Randall who told me about the property at which point my daughter and I made arrangements to take a drive and take a look. We decided we wanted it- and I let Kelly know that we needed to move on the 15th of February 2015. We went through her credit/background check process and were approved. At which point we decided to enter into a lease agreement on February 14th after having provided Kelly with $1800 of our hard earned money. When it was all said and done imagine my surprise when I received a text from Kelly asking me when I would want to move in as the property wouldn't be ready for another week! My husband and I took a drive to Lake Station to inspect the property on the day our lease was to commence February 14th, Kelly was NOT at the property but instead there were a bunch of workers whom we did not know. When she showed up my husband was livid - to the point he could not even speak. She went on to tell us how we could move "big ticket" items in and provide us with the keys- there was NO WAY that I was going to move my personal property into a home where there are workers coming in and out. The property was NOT livable and a filthy mess! Every day after that I was in communication with her to only have her tell me that more and more work was going to need to be done.. and how they would be finished almost a week after my lease started. There was a clause in the lease stating that if the landlord failed to provide us possession within 5 calendar days that we could expect a full refund of all money paid. On the fifth day I contacted Kelly to let her know that we wanted take advantage of our right to void the lease as the property was not ready for us to move in. She stated to me on the phone (recorded call at work) that this would not be an issue as she had an overwhelming response and she would talk to the property owner and give us a call back. We waited over twenty four hours to hear back from her, but prior to that as you can imagine the property was promptly re-listed. Since then she refuses to answer calls, emails, texts. We just came back from the Lake Station police department to make them aware of the situation- furthermore she is practicing business in Munster Indiana WITHOUT a proper business license. DO NOT LOOSE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY she is a con-artist and it is my thought now that she intended to defraud me, knowing I had to be out of my current residence, causing me to loose money and have to pay to stay longer, and low and behold as of now she is unresponsive, but still has our money. We have no where to live. She willfully entered into a lease agreement for a property that was not move in ready and charged me rent while she was in there doing work! I have now been to the police station, contacted the Indiana attorney general, BBB, among other agencies. Buyer beware!

It soon became apparent why she has so few properties she handled. In addition, she openly mocked residents with any questions or concerns. Run from this agent -- she is unprofessional and rude.

I had luck with Coldwell Banker agents in different markets so I decided to start with the closest office they had to my desired home location. After reading profiles for several agents, I decided on Donna. I'm very glad that I did. It was great to have such an experienced and dedicated person working on my behalf to help identify potential homes, assess and compare homes and then help me close the best deal I could. With her guidance, I am convinced that I paid less for the house then I would have if left to my own devices; both in the final purchase price and the conditions put on the closing following the inspection. Donna is sharp, fair and has a solid understanding of market value. She was always prompt in getting back to me, had an excellent understanding of what I was looking for in a house and is a genuinely good person. I would highly recommend Donna Zisoff.

Liberty Property Management - These stickers were all over the property. I wouldn't trust this company to manage my dumpsters.

When I bought the building it was managed by liberty property management. Lights were duck taped to the wall. Holes in the walls. Crumbling walls from moisture. Garbage from the 1990s was still in the basement. Rental stamps must be purchased every year in Hammond. The stamps were not purchased since before 2019. The property was very dirty and run down. The whole staff dodges any calls I make because I have an issue with the sale. They said they had good tenants in the building but I ended up evicting one for squatting and they caused 20k worth of damaged and had 4 unknown people living in the house. One of them threatened my life in front of Hammond police. I have it all on video. When I took possession of the property they immediately reduced their commission from 10% to 8.5%. I didn't even have to think twice about passing on their offer. All this company does is collect owners money and does zero Maintence. Fire extinguishers expired before 2019, there were cheaters on most of the outlets so they appeared grounded to pass inspection dead/no batteries in the fire detectors and they lied about the roof saying it was in excellent condition when I just had to pay 24K to replace it. Even the basement floods. I have nothing good to say about this company. I strongly suggest you avoid doing any business with them.

We first used this place back in 2021, while still living in Naperville Illinois. The agent at the time Kathy Schroeder was personable and our home was sold rather quickly. Yet, this is where the problems started. An agreed to time to move out which was the usual 30 days. Ok, well the new owners needed to move in two weeks sooner. Mccolly INSISTED we abide by this as we were looking for homes in Indiana already. We went through the Schererville office and found a home in an area. The location of our home was behind a corn field and a supposed flood plain. The realtor, Mary Embry with Mccolly and our realtor stated that no one is allowed too behind us. Late in 2020 the property was sold. Talking to neighbors and the Town of Schererville everyone knew of the sale. Red flag # 2. Then I had the pleasure of speaking with the seller after the sale and I inquired regarding the property. He related the Mccolly advised him not to say anything so that the home could be sold! Red flag #3! Now we are looking for purchasing another home since our family has downsized. Going through Mccolly again! Why? I guess I did not learn. Totally understand about being outbid on homes. I get it. Where the problem begins again, our realtor found us a home in Crown Point with another Mccolly agency, Michael Borowiec. This guy had a prospective home on the market for 9 months. We looked at the house. Liked it, bid on it, looked at it again, and he withheld information that the owners were never interested. Red flag# 4. Next we moved on and our agent found another home we liked. We signed the papers with our bid amount. Everything was accepted. Closing set up; home inspection set up. Then apparently the Mccolly Agent Alan Harrell represented the sellers, stated they want to back out of the contract. Our realtor sales lady said we needed to follow that with no specific reason. Overall, Mccolly Real Estate cannot be trusted. We have heard nothing but lies, misleading information and have a habit of NOT disclosing information to buyers! A DEFINITE firm to avoid. If I could give zero stars I would. Maybe Mccolly should have their license revoked in Indiana!

He got in front of his client to make the offers, even though mine was highest, he called his friend to ask if he wanted to counter. The seller was astounded he didn't offer me the same. He's highly unethical & made sure he got the listing agent fee, and the sellers fee. For this reason I will not use McColly. Totally unethical
