This school is K-8, and tends to attract and serve those families who have children with special needs. Scholarship programs are available as well for families who qualify. A new principal this year is working hard with the school and community to ensure that SJCS becomes more in tune with the community and has done a lot of work to give the school a face lift over the summer. Parent involvement is high and activities are provided after school and on weekends, both for students and parents. The teachers are very helpful and keep in contact. I've never had an easier time communicating with my son's teachers. The school really emphasizes responsibility and accountability. My parents were at the school at least once a week attempting to address and resolve these issues, but despite repeated reports, the bullying never meaningfully improved. I often felt that maintaining the school's reputation mattered more than addressing what was happening to me as a student. This experience had a lasting impact on my mental health and ultimately led to my removal from the school on the advice of medical professionals. I'm sharing this so parents and students understand that official labels don't always reflect individual experiences, and I do not want anyone to go through the same experience I did.

The teachers and staff here have been great to us and our daughter, she has made some new friends and is learning to socialize with other children. The pricing is great, a little below average pricing for preschools in the area. I guess my only gripe is the preschool meets 8am til 12pm; I would rather school start at 7:30 and go all day so it didn't interfere with my work schedule. But I do understand that's how most preschools are and we are lucky and happy to have found St. Timothy's.

During Covid a lot of kids got into the school (it's lottery admission) that probably didn't need to be there. And some parents don't understand that the school is designed for smarter kids, it won't make them smart. The new Board of Directors and administrators are working hard in helping students find the right schools personal scenarios because this school isn't the right fit for everyone. Unfortunately as a public school, they can't arbitrarily dismiss students like a private can. But if students make good choices and apply themselves, this school offers all they could ever need. Every year there are a few graduate with associates from either CofC or Trident.
