The food is delicious and homemade. The pork roast is especially scrumptious. This restaurant is a must try if you are in the San Antonio area. Chef Waldo and his wife, Josie, are a wonderful couple and treat you like you are family. I am in the military and have been all over the world and the service I received here is the best ever!! Chef Waldo and his wife cook all the dishes with love. Great job!!!

The venue is very pleasant. We were the only ones speaking English during our visit. The Spanish I was hearing was not a local dialect. I feel like the other patrons were probably from Peru, although one man sounded Columbian. Anyway... we knew we were in for a treat. We ended up having a four course meal. The first course was a delicious (and huge) tamal wrapped in banana leaves. The masa was thick, very moist, and tasted like it was made with a very delicious broth. That was followed by anticuchos which are grilled slices of beef heart. They came with some slices of roasted potato. I thought they were seasoned really well, but my son thought they were too salty. For our main course, we both had cau cau (Peruvian beef tripe stew) served with a small bowl of white rice. It was very delicious. The trip was cooked perfectly- not chewy, but not gelatinous. For dessert, we each had an alfador (Peruvian short bread cookies filled with a layer of Dulce de Leche and topped with powdered sugar). They were sheer perfection! The shortbread was as soft and flaky as my Mother's. We each drank a Chicha Morado. It was a sweet purple drink with cinnamon in it. I loved it. We only came in contact with two of the staff. They were both super helpful and very pleasant.

It's been years since I last had it and went to some restaurant on Blanco and West Ave but it didn't remain in business for long. I ordered pollo a la brasa with black beans and green rice and a glass of Inka Kola, a yellow soda with a sweet, bubble gum taste. The chicken was very good and arrived with 3 salsas. For dessert, I ordered 2 alfajores to go. For those who don't know they are just the Peruvian answer to Oreo cookies and Pepperidge Farm Milano cookies but so much better than those. Dulce de leche between 2 thick and crumbly shortbread cookies. I would recommend putting them in the fridge before consuming instead of eating them at room temperature. Next time I come here I might try either the lomo saltado or some of their appetizers.

Note, you can ask to add salmon, chicken, or chicken sausage to anything We started with the Cilantro Coconut Guacamole, which was such a unique combo with blackberries and mesquite tortillas. We also started out by trying their soup of the day which was a Brazilian recipe and it was SO good. Fresh, comforting, and full of flavor. As far as entrees we ordered the Spice Route Beets were vibrant and flavorful. We added salmon on the side. We also ordered the Pharm Kitchari (with chicken sausage added) was wholesome and well balanced. Oh and the vanilla bean mesquite latte is sooo darn delicious. I had two and still want more. Smooth, slightly smoky, and not too sweet. If you want food that tastes clean, fresh, and delicious, this spot is a must.

I ordered a dish with French fries, thick-cut steak, vegetables, and a flavorful sauce served over everything. It was absolutely delicious and honestly exceeded my expectations. I've had a similar dish in New York before, so being able to enjoy it again in San Antonio with such authentic flavors was a real treat. We dined in, and my party had a wonderful conversation with the staff. The service was exceptional and went above and beyond what we could have asked for. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I look forward to dining here again soon.

I know I'll especially be ordering more of the empanadas and fried Yucca may be my newest favorite side dish. I'm glad I gave it a try.

I came on a Wednesday evening and enjoyed a quiet dinner with my friend. The service was impeccable and the food came out quick. There's a small parking lot on the side of the hotel or you can find free street parking behind the building or along Navarro. Just a little on the saltier end but I ate it all! *Pescado Zarandeado (grilled red fish): 4/5 *Fall Back to You: Bourbon drink. Very tasty. Not too sour or sweet. I will definitely be coming back.
