My wife always finds the hidden gems, the best places to eat. Leche de Tigre is amazing, the food, the service, and the ambiance all help create such a unique and delicious experience. The Peruvian menu offers such an elegant taste and beautiful artistry of the owner who I discovered has a Peruvian and Mexican heritage. The place itself was an old home turned into a modern and peaceful restaurant. My wife ordered the ceviche which came with various seafood and sweet potatoes which mixed wonderfully. I ordered the chicken thighs and noodles which is a lovely combination and pays homage to the Chinese influence in Peru. Both dishes were so delicious and left us so satisfied. Our waiter Sean was very knowledgeable in both the menu and the culture, he made our conversation and experience very enjoyable. I would hope everyone that lives in San Antonio tries this place because it's a must.

Peruvian Pisco & Cebichería Some meals are memorable. Some meals are educational. And then there are meals that quietly recalibrate your entire understanding of what a restaurant can be. Leche de Tigre is the latter. From the moment we walked up, we were greeted by two incredibly warm and gracious young women who made us feel immediately welcome and thoughtfully guided us to the perfect spot. That tone, care, intention, and genuine hospitality, never wavered for the rest of the evening. Our server, Alexa, was exceptional. Knowledgeable without being rehearsed, attentive without hovering, and clearly proud of what she was serving. Behind the pisco bar, Sous Chef Santi took the experience even further, sharing the history of Leche de Tigre and the philosophy behind the food. This isn't just cooking, it's storytelling. Sustainability, respect for ingredients, and a deep desire to introduce Peruvian cuisine to people who may be experiencing it for the very first time... and falling in love immediately. We began with the traditional Peruvian corn nuts, which deserve their own warning label: dangerously addictive. For drinks, we ordered a pisco sour--perfectly balanced--and a glass of white wine recommended by Alexa, which paired beautifully with everything that followed. Then came something truly special: pine oysters. Available only briefly each year, these oysters feed on pine-rich algae, which gives them a stunning green hue and an elegant, vegetal depth. They were reminiscent of the famed French fines de claire vertes, briny, mineral, and utterly refined. Rare, intentional, and unforgettable. Next was the ceviche, and I don't use this word lightly: insane. Bright ahi, creamy avocado, and layers of citrus and heat that danced rather than overwhelmed. Every bite was perfectly balanced, fresh, vibrant, and alive. We followed with two skewers: one (name forthcoming) and the Wagyu, which nearly stopped conversation at the table. The marinade, whatever alchemy it came from, was divine. The dipping sauce was excellent, but honestly? I wanted to bathe in whatever the Wagyu had already absorbed. It was that good. Normally, I don't order dessert. But this experience demanded a proper finale, and the cheesecake delivered. Light, elegant, and refreshingly tart, not cloying or overly sweet, ending the meal on a note of restraint and precision. This was not just dinner. It was art, culture, hospitality, and passion, all moving in harmony. Leche de Tigre is a James Beard finalist, featured in the Michelin Guide, and after this experience, I can say without hesitation: It is the best restaurant in Texas. Hands down.

We almost didn't come. We made a reservation but it was a tad too far from the riverwalk but we decided to honor the commitment and we went. Half of our group Ubered and the other half did the 40 minute walk. I've never had Peruvian food before but this was INCREDIBLE. The four or five ceviche dishes have forever ruined what I think ceviche should be. They were all so good - very acidic and flavorful, with the accompanying spices and herbs and leaves. The service was so-so. It was a really busy night and I think they were understaffed. The corn nibblers they give everyone at the start of the meal are addicting. I can't wait for my next trip to San Antonio!

Wow, what a great experience! Had a lovely dinner for 4 on a Tuesday evening. I don't remember what we ordered but I do know everything was absolutely delicious! Each dish was made with fresh ingredients and all the flavors went well together. From fresh ceviche to wagyu beef and all the various seafoods, each dish was amazing. The restaurant was super cute and had a lovely ambiance. Very nice for date night! Service was also top notch. The entire evening was spectacular and memorable. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a unique experience. Be sure to make a reservation!

We went here for our anniversary and I was throughly impressed. They pulled out all the stops in making our night special. They gave us free champagne, shots, dessert, and even took a cute Polaroid picture of us! Incredible service. The food was even better. For appetizers we ordered Choclo frito (pork belly) and Wagyu-x bavette (wagyu skewer). For my main dish I ordered the Lomo Saltado. The meats were all so tender and juicy. The plates and presentation were immaculate. All my dishes were amazing. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with tigers and art. There is an open kitchen where you can watch the food being made. All in all, a superb experience that made us feel great! Highly recommend this restaurant.

We had a lovely time here. The menu is different, so you have to be prepared to try new things. It's also a good spot to go if you are comfortable sharing the dishes. So go with people you like! We had an array of food, cocktails and more! The bluefin tostada and fennel salad were both INCREDIBLE. Our waitress was so nice and helpful and the vibes of the restaurant were great!

I 100% recommend this place. I'm definitely going back. At first I thought it was going to be one of those spots that social media hypes up, and then when you get there it's nothing like people made it seem. But this one definitely exceeded my expectations. The food was amazing. We got the scallops and some kind of noodle or chicken dish, I can't remember. The scallops came on the shell, and I thought it was a tostada at first, so I ended up trying to eat the shell. That was pretty funny. The drinks were really good, not super strong but solid. The décor and seating arrangements were nice, and to top it off the staff was friendly.

Made a last minute decision to come here for dinner and I'm glad I did! The inside of Leche De Tigre has tropical boho vibes. Very fun. I ordered the Amazonico ceviche, fennel salad, wagyu skewer, and Crema Volteada for dessert. All of the dishes were great but the ceviche really stole the show! Fresh fish and it paired nicely with the crispy chifle. Overall, the food is a little bit on the pricier side given the portions but a great spot for special occasions or date night!

Loved our experience here. Waiter was super helpful and went over the entire menu with us. Highly recommend the yellowfin ceviche, the wagu skewers, and the fried chicken noodle dish. The little corn appetizer was also so addicting. All of the flavors were delicious. If you're drinking, grab a pisco sour to start and a pistachio martini for dessert!

Amazing Michelin restaurant in San Antonio! Never thought I say that. The servers are so very kind and gracious. The food is just divine. Authentic flavors abound! If you go ask to sit in the greenhouse which is really cool. The Tempranillo wine was light but tasty. Not too dry. Great ambiance and vibe. Will definitely come back!

Amazing cebiches. All the ingredients are fresh and when assembled into the respective dishes they are mindblowing. Not only is the food so dang delicious each plate is a beautiful work of art. Everything I've tried has been a happy experience. They have indoor and outdoor seating options. My favorite place to sit is at the cebiche bar so I can watch the chefs at work. They service is always attentive and friendly. Leche de Tigre is a Michelin Guide restaurant, recognized as a "Recommended" restaurant in the first-ever Texas Michelin Guide.

Leche de Tigre completely blew us away! We sat at the bar, which turned out to be the best seat in the house, watching the chefs plate everything right in front of us was an experience all on its own. We started with the Cebiche Criollo, a perfectly balanced with fresh fish, shrimp, octopus, and crispy calamari... every bite had that citrusy kick you want from good ceviche. The Tiraditos Tataki was light and bright, with yellowfin that melted in your mouth, but it does have a spicy kick. Then came the anticucheria skewers... the Wagyu-X bavette was insanely tender with the chimichurri and huancaína sauce, and the scallops were just as incredible, topped with a touch of parmesan and chalaca that tied everything together. Dessert didn't disappoint either. The Crema Volteada with cherimoya and berries was silky and not too sweet, way better than flan, and the Pie de Maracuyá might just be one of my new favorites... tart, creamy, citrus/passion fruit flavors, and perfectly finished with a berry compote. Almost like a key lime pie! Everything was unbelievably fresh, portioned just right for sharing, and priced fairly for the quality and experience. The ambiance is low lighting and definitely more adult friendly. Didn't see any children. Perfect for a romantic date night or girls dinner. The manager (possibly the owner) even stopped by to check on us, which says a lot about the care they put into this place. We already booked another reservation.... that's how good it was.

Another first time try. Highly recommend making dinner reservations. Very busy. Service was great. I had the Tallarin/Fried Chicken thighs, vegetables, crema de ajíes. It was fabulous! The flavor just drips with each bite. Chicken was perfectly fried and crispy. The sauce had a very soft spiciness to it that was fantastic.

We were seated right away but it was about 15 mins before someone came to our table to greet us and provide water. Once we ordered the waiter was very attentive. She provided us a palette cleanser (the spoons) which tasted like a lemon spice. It was really nice but had a kick at the end. We also ordered the probiotic appetizer which was gut healthy fermented veg. I wasn't a big fan of it, but my friend loved it. We also ordered the cilantro coconut guacamole and corn tortillas. This was very interesting! I've never had fruit in my guacamole. I loved it. And the corn tortillas were fresh and homemade. Next, I ordered a saffron date golden milk. They offer this hot or chilled. I got the chilled version. This is to die for if I could drink this every day I would. It is very comforting and as you drinking it, you get this like warmth all over. The spices are very balanced and it comes with oat milk so it's creamy. For the meal I order the akaushi beef tacos. Which was Barbacoa over a cashew cream trust with fermented, cabbage, and cilantro. It also comes with a side of salsa. These tacos were very filling and delicious. The flavors pair up so well. I did add some of the gauc to it for a more creamer taste. Overall, the food experience was a 10 out of 10. I am gluten-free and the whole restaurant is 100% gluten-free! They have vegetarian options and from what I could see also dairy free. If you're trying to expand your taste buds, this is definitely a place to try. The only thing I didn't like was the chairs lol the edge of it was so uncomfortable because it was putting pressure into my legs my friend said the same thing with her chair.

Couldn't ask for a better meal to close a not so good week. I feel a great meal, with great company can lift your spirits. Man I needed it. Where do we begin. The Inca Cola was awesome. We don't normally drink soda, but the very sweet older gentleman taking our order recommended it. Even the diet one was great. There were other drinks available, and they will even bring you samples if you're not sure! We had Chaufe de Pollo, Bistec a lo pobre, and Tallarin verde. Each plate, even the simple ones, was simply well executed. I will start with the Tallarin Verde. The meat was tender, and the pasta was cooked al dente. It's not quite Italian pesto, and leans a bit more to chimichuri. Not a bad thing, but it worked so well! The beef was slightly under seasoned. Just a tad. The chaufa de pollo, is labeled as fried rice. You think like chinsese fried rice. Yes and no. Just like the amazing fried rice at Himalaya, it's different enough to be appreciated. It had a more toasted flavor, and not as greasy. Great flavor too. It's great when mixed with the surprising star of the meal. The aji verde sauce. We had to order more three times. It's semi sweet and cooling, but with a kick that builds up. Mixed with the rice, and on top of all the meals, leveled up all the dishes. Not ashamed to say we bought some of the sauce to take home. The last dish was just a simple dish executed to perfection. The egg was just right, and cut the yolk on the steak and wow! Can't say it any better. None of us are fans of fried plantain, but we loved it here. I don't know what they did different, here it was the best we've had. The fries were better than normal. The gripes, because no place is perfect... The plain white rice they served on the bistec a lo pobre, was just plain white rice. I mean it added nothing to the dish. Also the bistec again was a bit under seasoned as well. We can't wait to come back and try more dishes! Def recommend!

Upon arriving, we were welcomed by the Chef Waldito with open arms, amazing energy and you can tell he absolutely LOVES what he does! The restaurant is small but cozy with accolades all over the wall. He explained the menu, the buffet and said he would make anything to order but recommended the buffet. How could you not have a smile on your face when someone talks straight from the heart about making food for his customers?!? We opted for the buffet which was all you can eat and his homemade tea for only $12!! He says he only makes enough money to cover the rent because feeding people was his love language. This touched us! You can get either one or both soups. He served a seafood soup and a chicken noodle soup. The soups was very flavorful and warm. He also serves bread with it as well. The chicken noodle soup was on point! It was flavorful, the noodles were cooked well and wasnt mushy. He will serve you the buffet. It had roasted chicken, then a chicken stew with Caribbean vegetables (plantains, yucca, etc), yucca, black or red beans and either white or rice with gandules. Being that my husband is from the islands, we know flavor! Unfortunately, the beans and the stew had little to no flavor, not even salt. Additionally, the beans were burnt. The arroz con gandules was odd. It lacked flavor and I'm not sure how you can get mushy but underdone rice. The stew tasted like it was just watered down. He graciously made fresh fried Maduros which were great and fried pork as well. The tea that came with it was very good! I'd definitely order a pitcher of it! It had a lot of fruit and floral notes for a tea! Unfortunately, the food missed the mark for us. We couldn't even finish it, let alone even eat half. We were so disappointed because you can tell he absolutely loves and lives off of his love for cooking. I don't know if my husband and I were off on our taste buds that day. I gave this a three star because Chef Waldito was such a pleasure to be around. He made it worth while and I don't want his restaurant to fail. My friends wanted to share their favorite restaurant with me and I'm so glad they ordered because I can't figure out most of the menu. If you ask them, they will definitely make recommendations on their daily specials. Lunch buffet is easy- dinner is a little harder :-) Hole-in-the-walls are the best. And for good reason. They are usually started from scratch with sweat, blood and tears. You can taste the passion in their dishes. Waldo and his wife started off as a catering business and just expanded into a restaurant a year ago and are going strong. It's definitely a two person show so be patient and go when it's slow...you'll get to spend time with him and maybe he'll share his stories with you. I got a groupon for this place and tried going no less than six times, but they were never open and had the worst customer service possible- I'd call and they'd tell me they'd be open the next day, but I'd drive up DURING THEIR POSTED HOURS, and they were closed. When I called back, they always blamed their catering business and how they had events on weekends that would take precedence. Well, maybe your regulars don't mind driving up to a closed restaurant, but I sure do. Like I said, called and came by repeatedly in a three month span, and never once was I apologized to or helped in any way- there was always an excuse. From those who have actually had the food, it sounds delicious. I just wish this place were run like a business and not like someone's pet project.
