I went over my budget because I wanted the best quality I could get and thats what Buttermore promised me. Instead my now wife hasn't had the ring a year yet and 4 diamonds have fallen out. 5 months after I purchased it a diamond fell out so I sent it back paid my own shipping and they fixed. Two weeks later the same diamond fell out again only a few weeks before our wedding! I wasn't happy the first time but hey things happens, but the same diamond falling out again 2 weeks later. Buttermores reimbursed me for the second time I shipped it up to them to fix, but refused to reimburse me for the first time saying that "it wasn't their fault I moved out of town". That may be true it's not their fault I moved, but it is their fault their product was not quality and no one should have to pay shipping for a faulty product. A month and a half later, a different diamond fell out so I called again, and not only did they try to say it must be something my wife is doing to the ring they were very rude on the phone. Before I had a chance to ship it back, another bigger diamond fell out as well. At this point Buttermore told me they need to ship it out and get the whole ring remounted which is admitting they provided me with a faulty product which they still would not verbally admit or pay for any of the shipping. They said it would take two weeks to remount the ring and they had it almost two months. They never called to inform me about the status of the ring, after a month and a half of waiting, I called them. One of the phone calls I made to check in on the ring, since they weren't keeping me updated, they snapped at me saying "we don't know" and refused to find out, that I would just have to wait. Buttermore Customer Service is horrendous. I am extremely disappointed and regret my decision to purchase my wife's ring there. They do not communicate, speak kindly to, or take care of their customers. I will not buy anything from Buttermores from here on out and neither will my family who all still lives in the Mid-Ohio Valley and has purchased from them before. My wife should not have had to be without her engagement ring for 3 out of the 10 months of me giving it to her.

The lady who assisted me treated me like I wasn't worth her time and informed me that "priority is given to their 'real' customers" so she couldn't commit to when my ring could get resized. Further, when I asked if there was a jeweler on staff who could look at one of my rings to give me an opinion on the stone, she said, "Well I'm not going to get Mr. Buttermore out of the back just for that." She looked at it herself, gave me a grim assessment, casually insulted me, and then recommended that I go to another jeweler whilst casually insulting them as well. As much as I like to support local businesses, I won't be back. The people at several jewelers in the mall were infinitely more helpful and professional... including the girl at the pop up kiosk.

Marietta has a deep history connected to the Ohio river and throughout the year there are many festivals that bring people in for a good time. I'm here in a quiet period and to me the downtown seems architecturally interesting and economically challenging. The Schafer Leather Store has been around since 1867 and sells a wide variety of leather goods and gifts. In particular, they have a huge selection of Kicker boots and Cowboy hats. I stopped in yesterday and was warmly welcomed by couple who owns the place and amused by a street guy who wandered in and complained that he couldn't get any credit here! It's a very nice shop and I got to peak in back where the do a lot of leather-related work themselves. We also chatted about some of his cattle work and the Iowa State Fair that we separately attended last year. I'd like to come back if I happen by this way again.

We had very specific requirements as to what we wanted; his biggest concern was finding firm, well-built sofa's, and mine was finding the right fabric and color for our living room. What made the process so agonizing is every store we went in, we were "jumped on" before the front door even closed behind us. I definitely do not mind being greeted or asked if I can be helped but these furniture salesmen were relentless. Even after saying we know what we want and if we need help we will ask, we are followed around the store like a couple of criminals. Every time we stopped to look at a sofa, the salesman would swoop in and bombard us with information we didn't want or need. It's very annoying and it makes the entire looking-around process impossible. Some people may not be put off by this type of salesmanship but I certainly am. We honestly couldn't take more than 10 minutes of being stalked like animals at each of these stores. We were in Marietta one day for lunch and I brought up the idea of furniture shopping while we were in town. We decided to give Wieser & Cawley a try because we had never been there before. We didn't know what to expect. After walking through the front door, we immediately noticed a difference. Not only was the showroom beautiful, but the staff didn't hound us. They didn't ignore us either. We were greeted with smiles, welcoming hello's, and we were told to have a look around and not be afraid to ask questions. Finally! We were finally able to take our time, look around, try out sofa's, and discuss our thoughts and opinions privately between ourselves. After strolling through the store for an hour narrowing down our choices we decided to ask for assisstance. The associate that helped us was wonderful. She was knowledgeable, attentive, and very friendly. She helped us further narrow our choices by showing us available finishes and fabrics for those specific sofas we liked. After we finally decided on one, she told us that that particular sofa was available in a variety of styles. It was a custom sofa where we could choose the type of arms, seat cushions, back cushions, legs, fabric for the sofa, two fabrics for pillows, and wood finish for the legs. She then informed us that if we were to go on the manufacturer's website we could build a virtual representation of our exact choices so we could see exactly what our sofa and pillows would look like. For another hour she helped us choose some fabrics and showed us different leg styles. Since there were hundreds of fabrics to choose from, we decided to go home and try out the website. The associate wrote down the name and code number for every fabric we were looking at for the sofa fabric and pillow fabrics so that we could specifically see how those fabrics would look. Anyways, we went back to Wieser & Cawley the next day and ordered our sofas. The associate told us that 8-10 weeks was the norm for delivery but receiving them sooner or even later was a possibility. We received our sofas 5 weeks later and they are BEAUTIFUL! Thank You Wieser & Cawley. I have recommened your services to family and friends.
