We really enjoyed Divots, but in the last year it's deteriorated markedly. Long delays in being served, having food delivered to some of the party and then 10-15 minutes later to the rest, our table being literally forgotten.... Our most recent visit we waited 40 minutes to order drinks. One in our party of 3 was served, but after waiting another while we went to inquire about the remainder and finally got that taken care of... Tables that arrived and seated after us were eating before we even ordered food. A waitperson brought us over a round of drinks, and we thought "thanks! they're being gracious, must be just a bad night", but no! We were billed for those drink we did not even order! Please please please get your act together. read more

Some how we always get ignored. I would love to say it's due to covid, but other tables don't wait. We live in Hood River and don't have a lot of other option especially now... I think a lot of it has to do with management. Food is great, once you get it. read more

This was our first visit. My Vegetable pasta primavera was amazing. I especially liked the bites of artichoke heart. My husband thought his hamburger was the best he had had in a long time. And the view of the mountain was superb. read more

Beautiful view. Slow service. Waitress couldn't think of what teas were available so we didn't get any, she never followed up with the flavors. Good fish but stale cold fries. Two of us ordered fish, one order was much bigger than the other. Not impressed. Will we ever get the bill so we can leave? read more

Oh where to begin... very slow service. It took a long time to get a margarita and the restaurant wasn't that busy. That wasn't the worst... I ordered a New York steak medium rare without mushrooms or sauce since I am allergic to them. Someone else at the table ordered the steak too but instead of the mushroom sauce they asked for blue cheese on it. Their steak came out. They sprinkled a lot of pepper on it and then remembered they asked for no mushrooms. It add blue cheese. They took the plate away and a few minutes later brought out her steak with blue cheese and then my steak came out with the sauce on it with the pepper the person at my table sprinkled on it... that's right.. they tried to pass off her steak to me! Can you believe it. Then I asked them to take it back and I wanted one with no sauce like I asked. It came out pretty well done for my liking, Luke warm and after everyone else had finished eating. When I told the manager about the situations her comment was "well you got it correct right? I am only taking 50% off." I said "then you can keep the steak because there was two bites taken off of it not to mention I said I had an allergy and you tried to serve me the steak from someone else!" After discussing it for some time she finally took the steak off the bill but she did not even care that it is a healthy code violation to serve food from someone else or that there was an allergy concern. It also was hard to swallow that they forced a 20% tip for parties over 6 when they had horrible service. Never eat there!!!! If I could give it a 0 star I would. read more

Great food, the .50 wings are really good, lots of different sauces to dip, we sat outside so as soon as the food arrived so did the (for lack of a better term) "food bees" but ours was the only table that seemed to have them. Super tiny wings on wing night, but still yummy and cheap. Divot fries were amazing and meatloaf was great. The bartender knew how to mix all the right drinks and they had television showing the game we wanted to see. The view out back of Mt. Hood is incredible. This is the restaurant in the golf course, it has breath taking views and the salads are pretty good, but the rest of the stuff, I am not so sure. We were there a few times. Happy hour is pretty cheap, but the items are not very good. We tried the pretzel, it seemed to come from a frozen package. The ahi salad was mediocre and the quesadillas were not very; good, my kids didn't touch them. The coconut shrimp was swimming in some slimy sauce. Another time I went with a girlfriend for dinner and I had a spinach salad with grilled salmon. It was ok, but my salmon was a little overcooked. The drinks are pretty good, though. read more

Have always enjoyed the patio with our dogs. Decided to go the long way home from Redmond to Portland just to enjoy Divots. Arrived and found the patio virtually empty. Picked a shady spot for the dogs. When the hostess came out she stated that we could not have our 2 small dogs on the patio. We told her we had been here with our dogs a half s dozen times this summer and it had never been a problem (we had even called to ck on dog policy the first time). She said the policy has been enforced inconsistently and that we would have to leave. Every waiter we've had there in the past has loved on our dogs and shown pictures of their own pups. We've seen many dogs there before too... Bad management!!! Will not be spending our $100 there any more. read more

We have been to Divot's at least 6 times over the past 18 months and they have never disappointed us. Their outside tables offer the absolute best view of Mt Hood that we know of. It's in your lap, big time. That sets the stage for an inspirational event right from the start and enhances the dining experience 3-fold. The golf course greens are set in the foreground of the sharply pointed peak are reminiscent of of pages from a fairy book. We usually go for their happy hour which runs from 3-6pm. Ceasar Salad, Ahi Tuna, Quesadillas, Mini French Dip and more are all in the $3 range per item. Quite good for the low prices they charge. The service is excellent and beer and wine selection equally as good. Inside the restrooms are very clean and you can browse the pro shop for the latest golf bags, golf shoes, and any other golf related gear you might be looking for. I'm not a golf guy, but it's such an inviting atmosphere I was inclined to hit a bucket of balls (the driving range is less than 50 feet away from the outside patio) after dinner and drinks. I came back to Hood River to visit after having moved to Portland OR for a year. I wanted to have dinner with friends at Divots again. What a disappointment! I ordered what once was my favorite, meat loaf, mashed potatoes, onion rings & asparagus. As usual they were crowded but VERY noisy. When my order arrived, what used to be a very substantial slice of meatloaf was two itty bitty pieces that I could have inhaled !! So, I thought I would go ahead & eat the meal .. one problem, it was cold to boot! When I was finally able to get our servers attention, she promptly removed my plate of food & "nuked" it. The food my guests ordered was very unsatisfactory. The prices were a little higher, but I expected that. I will not return to this restaurant on my next visit. But who knows, by then they might have stopped trying to cut corners with the small portions & employ a new cook. read more

The people in the pro shop are rude. Everytime I get a tee time the help is rude and gets it wrong. Does anyone smile there? The restaurant seems fine but I tried to schedule many events there but no one will return calls at Divots. I wonder why they even have a phone there. I called and called. Went here for the Mother's Day Brunch buffet. This review concerns only that. Staff was excellent. Brunch was not so awesome. Much of it was basically what appeared to be Safeway Deli food set out as a buffet. Dessert items likely Entenmann's boxed pastries. Sure, there were a few prepared items, but not that much. I've been going to Divots for the past 3 years and sadly the service and food has been declining. Happy hour portions have been getting progressively smaller for the same price. The last time I went, we walked through the door and the waitresses seemed annoyed that more people were coming in. I've decided not to go anymore in hopes that if I wait long enough it'll change for the better. The views are great and the taste of the food is too but I'm not sure that is enough to tolerate the crappy service! read more

Beware. Food is ok, but they employ toxic bartenders. Service is subject to the mood of the server and if you complain or don't tip due to bad service or outright rudeness then they can banish you from the restaurant for no reason. read more

Happy hour was super. Fun choices on tap, good appetizers, and my kids were able to practice golf on the range and practice greens. My wife and I used to love coming to Divots everytime we came through town but the past few experiences were awful. They were understaffed and seemed annoyed that we walked through the door. None of the friendly familiar faces we were used to were there. The bartender was very rude and abrupt with my wife as she was deciding on a glass of wine. She ordered a chicken sandwich and it was RAW in the middle, and the bartender seemed very put out to cook it longer. Very unimpressed........... I have been here 3 times and each time I (nor the other ppl in my group) fid not leave happy. To start I arrived here during a dinner rush... being in the service industry myself I was evlxtremly patient. I and the 4 other people I was with stood next to the cash register for 15 minutes waiting for someone to either seat us or at least acknowledge us... we had MULTIPLE waitresses walk by and stare directly at us... just to quickly look away kind of like a "I'm too busy" again.. it was a dinner rush.... but at least acknowledge our presence... finally I walked up to a waitress as she was bringing back a few trays and asked if we could please be seated. She instructed me to "try and find a table and they would be with me shortly".... try and find a table?... after getting our menus it took another 10 minutes to get our drinks we ordered from the bar menu because we figured it would be faster and ate our DELICIOUS DIVOTS FRIES (which is the only thing saving this review from being 1 star) and then waited for our check.... after ANOTHWR 2O MINUTES i got up went to tge cash register and asked if we could pqy for our meal.... i hot a prompt yes and an apology from im guessing the bartender and was told a waitress would be over with our checks asap. We waited... and waited.... another 10 minutes and finally I got up and handed my check amount to the nearest waitress and left. I am not the type of person to rant and rave and tear a business apart..... but being flat out ignored for 15 minutes as a group is unacceptable. .. dinner rush or not.... and everything else on top if it just sad. read more

Returned for a family birthday dinner. My brother had called and made reservations and upon arrival the hostess actually told us they had given out table away (we were not late for our reservation). We then had to wait a good 15 minutes for them to make us a make shift table by the bar that was dark and cramped for the 5 of us. Despite being right next to the waitress station we sat for more than 20 minutes waiting for our order to be taken and watched guests who had arrived after us get there drinks and orders taken. After getting our food, ( I ordered the Mac and cheese) I found that they had forgotten to put the cheese sauce on and instead I had a large hard blob of Parmesan on top of plain noodles....our waitressed noticed it was wrong and asked if I wanted something else instead, but that it would take too long if I wanted another order of Mac and cheese. I decided against getting anything else and went home and had a sandwich. I'm sad to say that Divot's has gone from a weekly staple in our house to our go to joke about bad service. It's turned into a happy hour for tourists and bad service for locals who want a nice sit down family dinner. This was my last trip to Divots. read more

That said--my son and I stopped by on June 12th and were charged FOUR DOLLARS to split a sandwich after we had ordered drinks and a bowl of soup for him and a cup for me. The food is great, especially the salmon, and reasonably priced. Variety of large salads, which my wife loves. Cocktails are good if you can get them before the food arrives. The reason for the less than enthusiastic review is because service is truly awful. Waitstaff don't cover tables for each other, even for minor requests and seem very irritated by any request. I was lectured by our server for getting out of my seat to ask for silverware (although she never checked in to see if we needed anything). In general, the staff seems too busy and definitely cranky. We have the feeling they all hate their job and care only about the tip, which really ruins the experience. We've gotten our bill when we planning to have dessert; other times it feels like we will never get our check. They have several high school student pouring water, but are not trained or maybe allowed to do anything else. We're giving Divots a rest for the summer and hoping the current crabby waitstaff find new jobs or management figures out a better way to do business, i.e. train employees to be able to help customers, stop understaffing (even though servers want more tables to earn more tips), and hire nicer people, like Melissa who used to work there. read more

Divots is a great place to watch a game at the bar and it has a cozy atmosphere. I've eaten there twice and had the fish and chips and the Bogey burger. Both good, not spectacular but no complaints. My wife ordered mac and cheese with bacon, but neither of us were not too impressed with it, as it lacked flavor. Supposed to be 3 cheese, but tasted like it was mostly mozzarella. Also, the panko bread crumbs all but non-existent. I think if they changed up their cheese combination (hint: gouda is a must for one of the three), they'd have a winner. Also, the bartenders should know what a Sazerac is! To end on a positive, service is excellent, and everyone is pretty friendly there. read more

Maybe we just ordered the wrong things; while looking like a very large portion the fish and chips had at least a 1/2" coat of breading on it with some fish inside. The 'Benito' was veggies, noodles, and choice of meat with a sickly sweet bottled teriyaki sauce drenched in it. The spinach salad with hazelnuts, blue cheese and strawberries was very good.
