I visited the Last Stop Saloon with my father recently, and we had an incredibly disappointing experience due to our bartender, Heather. The poor service started right when we ordered. I asked for a Dos Equis, and Heather looked at me and blankly asked, "What is that?" When I explained it was a Mexican beer, she snapped, "We don't have that." Meanwhile, I could clearly see another patron at the end of the bar drinking a Modelo. I pointed it out and just asked for a Modelo instead, which she finally served. The real issue, however, was a shocking lack of sanitation later in our meal. My dad ordered the Reuben soup, which came with a side of Thousand Island dressing. He enjoyed it, so a few minutes later, I ordered a cup for myself. When Heather brought out my soup, it didn't come with its own dressing. Instead of pouring a fresh side, she reached over, grabbed my dad's used, leftover Thousand Island dressing, pushed it over to me, and said, "Oh, he looks like he didn't touch this. You can go ahead and use it." I was completely stunned and disgusted. Passing used, pre-served food side-dishes between customers is a massive health code violation, regardless of whether we are family or not. If this is how they handle hygiene in plain sight at the bar, I dread to think what is happening back in the kitchen. We will definitely not be returning. read more

Went to The Dalles for some supplies. The hubby wanted to dine at one of our standard places. Thought to try some places different. What a pleasant surprise at the Last Stop Saloon! Great selection of beers, ciders and well drinks. But, the burgers and those "sidewinder" fries were perfect! The wait staff were quick and friendly. We now have a new place to stop! read more

So gone are the days of the local small town spot known to locals as The Vault and now we have newly renovated and rebranded Past Stop Saloon low key still do miss the vault it was a different spot but anyways this place has a very western feel to it plenty if whiskey options and beers on tap I've only ever had their burgers and so far I love it delicious simple the way a burger should be fries curled and crispy delicious burger meat nicely seasoned and staff are very good at service over all the place is a pleasant change to the city and im proud of the owners for the change. Only 4 stars is because the prices are on the high side for food cost $18.00 for burger and fries is a bit much but ill swallow it and enjoy coming back. read more

Ordered The Frenchie and my coworker ordered the Philly cheese steak through door dash. The Frenchie which used to have roast beef but now its a french dip sandwich made with a hamburger patty same with the philly cheesesteak. It was greasy and tasted like old grease wont be back again. A friendly hostess greeted us upon entry & was very attentive throughout our meal! Our waiter offered a sample of draft cider because I was indecisive & it was a very generous sample! We ordered Fried Pickles for an appetizer- long spears coated in delicious crispiness & served with a slightly-but-ever-so-spicy (poblano ranch) dressing! These are a must order! For our entrees we ordered the Pastrami Reuben w/onion rings & Crispy Chicken w/pickle Sandwich & Sidewinder fries. The chicken sandwich was very moist & the breading was crunchy but not too thick! And tons of pickles graced this sandwich!!! The Reuben had so much pastrami- there was no skimping here! Went there for a New Years party 2024-2025 only to be kicked out at 10 pm due to a minor in the party..... understood if not promises unmet, 14 people present at the party, understandable why their business may not survive, been there many times over the past few years, food just being mediocre, nothing impressive rather on the contrary. Just not many choices in The Dalles, the last decent restaurant Baldwin turned into a cash only pizza restaurant. The only reason places like the last place would ever survive , the lack of choice! They will screw up even a simple item such as a steak, poorly choice of supplier and poor quality of meet, then poorly prepared to only resemble a piece of cardboard! We stopped in for an early dinner on the 4th of July. The place wasn't too busy and we were seated right away. There seemed to be two servers for the whole place, but with it being a holiday, I was okay with slower service. The food was amazing! We had loaded sidewinder potatoes for an appetizer, and all of the components were delicious. One of us ordered the Cajun burger. The burger was solid, and the Sriracha mayo was more spicy than I've had before but in a good way. Nothing bad can be said about the sidewinder fries that came with the burger. We wish more places had fries like these. We also ordered the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. The chicken was nice and tender, and the Alfredo sauce was the best I've ever had! You could tell that it's made on site, so yummy. The well drinks were generous, and the Pendleton rum was nice. I always enjoy business or building stories on menus. The history of the building is pretty interesting. I gave them 5 stars, but I feel like 4.75 would be more appropriate because we all ran out of water, and no one checked in to see if we needed more. We we're told (by Zim's staff) that the Last Stop Saloon had a really good mac n cheese, which we were craving. We arrived a little after 9 p.m. and were surprised by live music, Yay!!! The "bartender " noticed us after we finally said "hey" and not before. We ordered our drinks and requested a sample of a local liquor we were curious about. It took 2 more times requesting it from 2 different bartenders over an hour before we recieved it; took a sip that we didn't enjoy but were still charged for a full shot when we had only requested a taste(okay???) We were offered "doubles " on our drinks, but they seemed like a 1 1/4oz and not 2 oz (proof that I can still write this review in a knowledge way after 2 drinks which is not my norm). Even though we kept expressing our desire to order food, we were continually put on "hold" due to the bartenders desire to continue chatting with her friends and co-workers. They eventually took our order, and after 30 minutes, they advised us they didn't have what we requested, so we had to substitute penne or macaroni noodles to fettuccine noodles. It took an additional 30++ minutes (it definitely seemed like way more, but I didn't time it) to get our food. 1 person got an addition to their order that they didn't request, but they chose to accept because they were worried about getting their food in a timely manner. Whoever the owner or GM may be, they should re-asses their staffing for more welcoming and engaging/attentive staff. Wish I had more gossip for them to pay attention to good paying and typically phenomenal tipping customers, but they are obviously not interested in new patrons. (Zim's was an amazing venue with very welcoming & attentive staff). I now understand why the venue was so empty. We are disappointed to know we can't support this local venue. Food is super good by the time we got it. We really enjoyed the live music. Staff, much to be desired. I sadly do not recommend this local venue . read more

There only seemed to be one server during our visit, but it wasn't too busy, and she kept up very well. It seemed clean enough, and the bathrooms were more than reasonable too. Omg! So glad that the Thai place we had first gone to told us at 8:30p, when we walked in, they were closed, even though their door says 9p. She even check with the cook and he said no. A man in a van in the parking lot where we parked saw us go in and leave. He was surprised about them not taking us but this is where the Last Stop Saloon comes in. He suggested this place which was really about a block from where we were. We went inside and they had a guitarist playing, nice! We got seated right away. Our server rocked! I don't remember a name tag but my receipt says Kristine. She was friendly and great at her job. We got the Fettuccine Alfredo. Yes, at a saloon, we got Italian, risky but guess what? It was delicious. The noodles and Alfredo sauce was great. We also split the Pastrami & Swiss Burger. Our server brought it already split. A great server! I can't say it was out of this world but it was still pretty up there with a 4.5 star. We sat, enjoyed the guitarist, ate some amazing food and had great service. We were hammered coming from a private club, and this place was recommended, because it was actually open after 9PM (places close early in this town, apparently). Decent food. Great people, and nice looking place. I liked everybody's else's meals better than mine; I had some sort of weird interpretation of club sandwich, with bacon jerky and deli ham/turkey. It is so sad to have to give this restaurant only three stars. It's three stars because the food when it does finally get to you is still tasty, cold but tasty. Do not go here if you are in a hurry as it takes almost two hours to get served. Very poor waitstaff manners. They completely walk by your table, don't even offer water. People try to say it's because they are short handed, I understand, but at least the staff you have should make contact with the patrons. I sure hope Todd can get his hands back into this spot before it all goes down hill. read more

We were directed here by the docent at the museum nearby and were super glad! It looks like an ordinary sports bar but don't be put off. It's worth looking for it on a non-descript downtown street. We were met by Jammie (pronounced Jaymee) who had just started her shift. She treated us like family, keeping the beer flowing and recommending food for us. Yes, the clam chowder was terrific! I had a Philly Cheese steak sandwich that I am craving even now. Others in my group raved about the hamburgers and coconut shrimp. Nice job on the remodel and it's great that they support live music but I was there for nearly 1/2 hour before I was offered a menu. Mind you, this was a Tuesday and it was sparsely populated at best. I Ordered a salad that came with a grilled chicken breast. I'm not sure if the thing was under cooked or if it was just the most gristley piece of poultry I've had in a while. I will give it another try because they support live music and the bar tender said they were having a bad day. Well, I did an online order, and the person handling pick-up walked past my order 4 times and told me she didn't have it. Finally noticed the bag of food sitting there, did no apologize, but said she didn't know they put stickers on all orders. The chicken wings are breaded and very salty. We stopped with our family last Saturday and though they were down a server, the woman who served us was cheerful and helpful. We ordered our food and when it came it was really something beyond what we expected. The burgers were really good, the fries were crisp and tasty. We had deep fried pickles and they too were good. One of the kids said her burger was the best she ever had. I had to agree; I won't say best because so many others have been good too. But it is near the top tied with the others. We high recommend it. My wife and son enjoyed the craft beer as well. And had a large selection. We used to stop in Hood River on our way to Portland, but we agreed we'd be stopping in the Dalles instead in the future. read more

Asparagus was bland and limp and Caesar salad was drowned in dressing. Prices could have been better in representation of food quality. Presentation was nice but stars are for service only.
