Star - Disappointed by My Experience at Dixie Auto Parts in Athens, AL About 6 weeks ago, I called Dixie Auto Parts looking for a used 42-inch Toro zero-turn mower. A young man told me they had just taken in a 2022 or 2023 trade-in, in decent shape, for $1500-$1800. He took my name and number and said he'd call once the service department looked it over. I followed up multiple times. No update. Eventually, I stopped by in person. After waiting outside in the heat with a 2-year-old while he spent a long time with another customer, he finally walked me out back--half a block behind the building--to look at an old, dilapidated mower that clearly wasn't the one he had described. He said it hadn't even been serviced yet and might be 2 more weeks out--by now it had been a month and a half. When I questioned the discrepancy, he shifted to trying to upsell me a new mower I didn't ask for--never mentioned financing clearly, and I was prepared to pay cash. I left feeling dismissed and strung along. Maybe because I'm a woman. Maybe because I didn't "look like a buyer." But I was serious, polite, and ready to purchase--and I was treated like I didn't matter. Dixie, if you're reading this, I'd still appreciate a proper response--or at least an apology. read more

Purchased a mower from Dixie in late 2023 after shipping issues through Home Depot. Drive belt had issues last Thursday and they came and picked it up within 30 minutes of service call. They replaced the drive belt and replaced and sharpened new blades. First time I turned the mower back on yesterday the blades wouldn't engage. I was concerned my phobia of service shops was materializing with the blades working prior to service but broken afterwards. Especially considering a common mistake in drive belt repair is disconnection or damage to the PTO and/or associated wiring. BUT, they sent out one of their experienced drivers this morning and he fixed it on the spot. No additional cost. Extremely grateful for Tim. Incredible customer service and my trust in the shop is maintained. They will make it right if something goes wrong which is hard to find these days. read more

Have been using Dixie Auto for a lot of years. Bought a Toro Zero Cut Mower, Chain Saw, Blower and other things I just can;t remember. Have always let them repair and service my mower. Have always done a great job. They have always called me to inform me of what the problem is and how much it will cost to have it repaired. Have taken chain saw in a couple of times for repairs and guy there looked at it, adjusted something and it started right up. Both times he did not charge me. I would recommend them (and have) to anyone that needs a new mower, blower, chain saw, tiller, etc. They are good folks to do business with. read more

This is my second experience with Dixie Auto Repairs and Service. After purchasing a new Husqvarna back pack blower last year for $599.00 I took my old Husqvarna back pack blower for service. When I picked it up it never ran properly and the throttle switch was locked in full throttle and you couldn't change it. Repairs were $65 for nothing. They would not fix it. So the 1 year old blower started having issues and is still under warranty. We took it to them to service it. Never got a call until we were told it was ready for pickup. my husband picked it up and was charged $181.62. They say the carburetor needed to be replaced. We were never asked if we wanted the old one cleaned or replaced! now we have almost $800 in a Husqvarna blower, less than two years old, that should have been under warranty! Billing receipt is not itemized so I have no idea what we paid for. never will I ever do business with Dixie Auto parts again. They may know sales but the service department Is a joke and highway robbery. Make Sure you know what your doing before you leave that store! Linda P read more

We left our mower with them over a month ago to fix. It was late on a Friday, they said they would call Monday with a quote. Never got a quote, never got a call. My husband called 2 weeks later to find out what was going on. The employee yelled at him and said "I told you it would be 3 weeks before we fixed it. Has it been 3 weeks?" Completely rude. We still don't have our mower back. Avoid this place at all costs. Awful. read more

Came in to look for a zero turn mower. I came in right before they closed but never felt rushed. The employee spent lots of time explaining the differences. I came back the next day to buy one. Was really happy with the overall service. read more

I recommend finding somewhere else. Lawnmower there for 2 weeks and no repair. Employees are Jekyll and Hyde. Had someone very helpful when I dropped it off and had the complete opposite when I picked it up. Tired of the 2-week wait, I asked for it back. Employee (possibly owner) demanded $20 for "looking at it." When I questioned him about it, he tore up the order form in my face. Returned my lawnmower to me literally in pieces. Not sure about quality of repair, but I am all-around dissatisfied. read more
