I recently switched from Oil to Propane. They were by far to the least expensive for propane fills, and for installing a new propane tank. I have never had any trouble reaching someone by phone, they've always been prompt and courteous. Plus, like I said very inexpensive for Propane. Often times more than a dollar a gallon cheaper than competitors. I had my new tank installed February 1924, and I'm getting ready to refill the tank again. I've been keeping an eye on the prices and they are still way cheaper. read more

we signed up for automatic delivery of propane. we ran out of propane the day before a snow storm. We called Dixieland and were told that the soonest delivery was in 9 days. They informed us that they never completed the process to signing us up for auto delivery. Dixieland said it was not their problem. Horrible customer service and administration! If you care to risk running empty in a cold snap, this is your best choice for propane delivery. I paid for a delivery then learned they couldn't meet demand and had a 3 plus week lead time. I watched as a couple neighbors got deliveries while my tank sat empty and the house was cold. This is AFTER already ordering and paying for propane a weeks earlier. I called around in desperation and found a delivery at a much better price. Will never go back to Dixie. read more

if I could give them a zero I would!!! after two weeks of back and forth phone call and emails. filling out forms we were told that we are out of their delivery area. very poor communication and not at all knowledgeable staff. should retrain your employees!! I was told because the staff members are new. well not everyone I spoke with was new. Taking time out of my busy schedule to leave you this review. I have had Dixieland for years but always have the same issue. they have a monitor on my tank but they don't monitor them. I have run out of propane without notice. and its going to take over a week before I can get an appointment as I will not let them draw directly from my bank account because they have hit my account 3 times in the same day and when this was pointed out to them I was told I should budget my money better and I wouldn't have been over drafted. they may have cheap gas but their customer service stinks. read more

A Dixie Land Propane truck parked on my sidewalk in Nov 2022, cracking one section of concrete. I was told by the General Manager the age and condition of my sidewalk did not warrant allowing me to file an insurance claim. I am not a customer nor will I EVER buy propane or fuel oil from them. Switched to Dixie land due to cost savings but beware the customer service and response from the company is terrible. Emailed 3 times to ask about delivery without response. Then called and said I was scheduled for auto delivery on a certain day. It's been almost 2 weeks past the date I was told and we are down to 20% propane left. So I contacted them as recommended via the website and still have not had a response. Highly disappointed and would not recommend. read more

I recently had Dixieland Energy bid on a propane replacement for my oil fired 34 year old boiler in my approx. 2400 SF house. I solicited estimates from 5 local contractors. The Dixieland estimate was by far the best and $2500.00 lower than the highest. I have been a practicing home inspector for 30+ years and have seen maybe a thousand hot water systems through the years. My background helped me compare apples to apples. Estimates can vary widely due to just what is being installed and replaced and its hard to judge different proposals with different criteria. I tried to make each estimate be roughly about the same job scope. Dixieland won hands down. The estimator was very knowledgeable and professional. The techs were courteous and very willing to field my many questions. As an inspector, I know these systems pretty well but the techs, especially Ethan, still added quite a bit to my knowledge. The owner's an ass, and other than a propane tank install I've never used their service department. But, I buy both my propane and oil here and they've got the best prices. Their drivers are also great. I never rembember the old guy who drives the tandem's name but he's always great. He typically shows up early in the morning and aleays entertains my 6 year old who hears the truck and runs to squish his nose on the front window. They came out, same day, on the day before Christmas eve last year when I forgot to check the tank until it was too low. Dixieland's got my business. read more

Called and set up an appointment for a quote for a new Furnace and AC unit job of $9,000. Dixie Land canceled the appointment a couple of hours before it started. They asked to reschedule for the next day. Ok, things happen I'll reschedule. Again, a couple of hours before the appointment they cancel and want to reschedule. If they can't come out on a nice day to give a proposal per their schedule, I'm sure all bets are off when the weather gets bad and the phone is ringing off the hook. I don't normally write a review about a place until they've completed their business with me, but I feel like I need too. I purchased heating fuel online through a third party website and received an email stating Dixie Land would be the ones servicing my needs of getting heating oil. I spoke to a lady, which she told me her name, but I can't seem to remember - She answered the phone and not normally the person who handles the online orders. She asked me qualifying questions and asked when I needed the delivery - I said ASAP! She told me Tuesday or Wednesday was available, so I selected Tuesday. She asked how big my tank was and how much there was inside, I replied none and we had no hot water. She said hold on then came back and told me she was able to make the delivery Monday, If we were available! Awesome service - Most people would have been like ok, see you on Tuesday and never thought about the person on the phone. Way to put your Customers first! You guys definitely gained a repeat customer! read more

Since my review helps I want other people to know I had a new heating and ac unit put in around May 2018 and have had nothing but issues as of now it is leaking water around the unit and has damaged my wall. I am all about providing support to a local business but this is a shame. I have called with no return calls and missed work to accommodate their hours. I suffer allergies and can not have standing water or mildew or mold in my home. I have made 3 calls today to get through with no response when it clearly states they are open until 6 pm. this is awful considering they are suppose to be able to be reach for an emergency. Awful. I am very stingy with 5 star reviews. Dixie Land Energy has more than earned one. I live 9 hours away and had a very short window to have fuel delivered to a family members home that requires someone to be there to allow the delivery person in to make a fuel delivery. Dixie Land bent over backwards to help me make that window, and did it with a positive attitude. There are not enough thank you's to give. I highly recommend them if you live in the area, the customer service was stellar. read more

We received HORRIBLE service from Dixie Land Energy. They have no human to answer the phones you have to leave a message and they will call you back (which could be anytime). We ordered 100 gallons of oil and were only given 12 gallons, but charged the full 100. The technician left a note on the door that there was no whistle so he could not fill our tank. NO ONE CALLED US.....just a note on the door the day of a snow storm.....SO we returned home to a tank that wasn't full and a note. My husband spent 30 minutes on the phone with someone who could careless that we wouldn't have enough heat for the snow storm that was occurring and didn't care that we had them deliver oil to us before without a whistle.
