He inspected the entire attic.: the new HAVAC system, but all other Dixie systems installed by Dixie, as I had asked some additional questions. His inspection was so thorough, and he explained everything to me in terms that I could understand. He even came armed with filters, which he installed for me while he was at it. I have been a DIxie Care customer since moving here, and I have been very pleased with the service. The best part is that all of the technicians seem to know a little bit about each others area, which is helpful in coming up with a solution. Cant give zero stars, but would. Had a shower ball valve piece break and so the running water couldnt be cut off. Techs show up and dont even take the handle appart to diagnose the issue. They instantly wrote me 3 quotes ranging from a "miscellaneous" for 1000 to the "we fix showers not walls" for 1900 and charged the company for 2 hours of labor when they were here 20 minutes tops. The service manager was contacted immediately following their departure. He stated he was driving and would look up the account when he arrived at his destination and would call me back. I indeed did not recieve a call back. Today, he called back at mid morning to not only point the finger at us but have the audacity to ask for my next plumbers quote to "stay competitive." If you want to stay competitive, you have to do the job first. Will NEVER call Dixie and will make an effort to let many know that they are over-charging frauds. I don't ever write reviews but this one is warranted. I contacted Dixie Electric and Plumbing to fix a broke faucet valve. The technician, Dewayne, came out and wanted to charge $544 to replace a $7.99 valve. I have repaired these in the past and it would take a beginner DIYer 30 min to replace. The technician told my tenant that the piece had to be special ordered and that it would take a couple of days to come in. The part is sold at Lowes for $7.99. Not only did the technician lie to my tenant and try to get over on me; I compare what he was trying to do to me to attempted robbery. I would understand if the technician had to use specialty tool and deep plumbing knowledge, but the only required tools are a hex key, crescent wrench, and a phillips head screwdriver. Once I contacted Dixie and told them not to complete the work due to the extreme overcharge, it was escalated to Eddie and he waived all charges and offered to do the work for $169 (which is still extremely high for the amount of work). At least they made it right by waiving the $69 call out fee. Glad there are other plumbing companies in the River Region. read more

I had a stoppage and was told quoted over the phone of a price of $169, but when I got the final bill for unstopping the line, which still didn't take out the bushes in the line, I was beyond mad. The two service techs were very professional. They identified the problem quickly and installed a GFCI outlet. They scored a 5 stars on promptness, professionalism, knowledge and service. The pricing seemed a little high though for the 30 minutes they spent. Because I was a first time customer, the $69.00 service fee was waived since work was done. That was enticing when I first called but later realized this was simply offset in the work fee. The work charge came out to $156.00 plus a TFS fee of $14.75 (no idea what a TFS fee is) for a total of $170.75. Assuming drive time of 30 minutes and onsite work of 30 minutes, that hour should have billed out at $75.00 to $100.00. read more

I have no issues with the quality of work. The two guys from Home Pro (Dixie must have subcontracted them). They were professional and did a super job. It took them three hours to put in a dryer vent which vented on the roof. That is about the right time. Didn't have to remove cabinets or tear up unnecessary drywall. Super job. Her is my issue: $2200 hundred bucks for a three hour job. I get it that no one likes to do this type of small job, so a lot of contractors jack up the prices. read more

The prices/estimates are outrageous. I thought I'd struck gold when I found someone to service my area. Turns out, they are GOLD. I had Dixie Plumbing come out for a clogged toilet. I paid $69 for them to come out and confirm it was indeed clogged. The estimate to unclog was almost $600.00, and this was with the discount for enrolling in a membership program. The technician said it was because they had to use a camera. I've been in my home for 12 years. This clogging issue has been a constant for me. Every couple years, I encounter this issue. I've had the pipes "jetted" out several times. Never before has a plumber attempted to charge even half this amount. The highest I've ever paid was $250. I immediately called another plumber from another area and discussed this estimate. He agreed that this was absurd, regardless of a camera. I suggest you think twice before using Dixie Plumbing or enrolling in their program. read more

It didn't matter though because we thought their quote of $2,000 to replace a builders grade 50 gallon electric hot water heater was high so we got another quote and low and behold we had our hot water heater replaced for $1100. We were out the $170 Dixie charged us to come look at heater on a Sunday but who cares when we saved basically 100%. Dixie Electric, Plumbing and Air, did an excellent job on our home. We needed some electrical work done on our new home, vanity light in bathroom, kitchen light installed over the sink and a new outlet in our guest bed room. The electricians were very professional, they did an amazing job and cleaned up everything before leaving. I would highly recommend them for work. On the downside, I signed up for their maintenance program, which, don't get me wrong, is an excellent idea and plan, but they refuse to allow us to send the monthly payment. They want to be able to access our account instead of us being able to send the payment to them. I not sure what the deal is but they are adamant that you CAN'T set up your own payment to them with their address information. It seems ridiculous given the amount of bank fraud, identity theft and scam artists around that they will not let you set up the payment to be cut every month to you. I was initially told we could do this then called back and said that I could not set this up. Yet, I was told over the phone that someone else was allowed to do this for the very reason I spoke of, which is to not ALLOW an outside entity to dip into our bank account once a month. I wanted to give them 5 stars but because of this ludicrous policy on payment of the plan I give them 3 stars. read more

If she hadn't called my husband with a payment question, they would have replaced an entire unit that turned out to have a small leak that the second company easily found and charged $900 for repair. I contacted Dixie last week to have our tankless water heater looked at and they were not very helpful at all. A technician came out and could not fix the problem. He explained to us that the whole unit would have to be taken back to their shop to troubleshoot the issue. He told us that the best option was to buy a new tankless and that Dixie could provide one for $5000. I was not paying that much, so I called a different company. The new company came out the very next day and fixed the tankless for $350. Dixie is a rip off! They do not have skilled technicians to troubleshoot issues. We submitted an email request to them around 7:30am because our air had gone out. They called us back around 7:40 and Travis was at our house before 8:30. Carolyn (who I spoke with on the phone) was very polite and told us exactly what to expect. The technician, Travis, was very professional and found the problem quickly. Their prices were very reasonable (we've had a lot of problems throughout the years and have used a lot of different companies) and they told us how much it would be before the work was started. They then wanted to charge us ANOTHER $400 to put a camera down the pipe, and luckily we went to another company at this time.. Other company wanted half the price to camera scope and worked well with us to fix the problem completely for under $500.
