We purchased a new central A/C unit 10 months ago. The condenser stopped working in the middle of the summer and had to be replaced. It has stopped working again during an extreme cold snap. The outdoor temps are low 30s and will be 22° tonight. The "answering service" has sent the info to the office twice now and no one has called me back. For reference, today is Sunday. Do not expect any after hours or emergency service from this business. The previous owners would be horrified at this pathetic customer service! DO NOT recommend this business unless you like sweating to death with no A/C or your home hovering at 50° on a weekend in January. read more

I called Clark Heating and Air because my AC wasn't cooling. They came out same day and diagnosed the problem. Because it was low on freon, it was kicking off the fan each time it would come on. I found Clark's prices for freon to be outrageous. Was it because I was an older lady by myself and he thought I didn't know any better? I don't know, but I own several rentals and know what freon costs. Anyway, I shut him down and told him to do nothing, paid the basic service fee and sent him on his way. I called Allen's Heating and Air, they came same day, added same amount of freon as Clark's was recommending. Even with paying a second service fee plus the freon, my bill from Allen's Heating and Air was literally half what Clark was going to charge. We had a clog in the main sewer line at our house. It was late on Saturday afternoon and Clark's noted they had after hours service. We did get to talk to someone promptly and they told us we'd be charged $150 IF we did not have a clean out and they wouldn't be able to help further....$150 plus additional if they could access the cleanout to clear the clog. The technician came out told us there was no clean out and he could do nothing further. Unknown to me at the time, he destroyed my landscape beds in the process of trying to locate the clean out. He pulled out and left pine straw all over the grass, dug multiple holes he didn't bother to refill. On Sunday, I had another company come out and they found the clean out in under 5 minutes and had the clog cleared and were finished in less than an hour. They also noted they were shocked at the condition that Clark's left the landscaping. Our yard was "yard of the month" this month. It now looks anything but. I called Monday to have my $150 refunded....they have now noted it has been refunded, but I also had to call 3 times to get this resolved. When I told them about the state of the yard that I have pictures of, it was just "Oh, well I'm sorry." Don't waste your time or money using Clark's. They did seem to care about lack of professionalism or aptitude of their staff. read more

Don't walk run away from this business. Charged me $500 to replace a home kitchen garbage disposal. They charged $90 just to come to the house and give me a price, then the job was extra! Minus the cost of the disposal itself, the 30 minute job was $350. This means the labor for the job was $700 an hour! read more

I am a retired senior citizen and I have done business with Clark for many years. I also pay monthly for a Clark Club membership. When my water heater failed and started leaking to flood my house; I couldn't get anyone but Clark to come and cap off the water line and I surely appreciate that. I then called my home warranty provider and they said no one would take the job and to get the work done and then provide a detailed work order/receipt to them for reimbursement. Although I knew Clark was estimating an overly high price, it was cold weather, and I had no hot water. I have no complaints with Clark's work but when I requested a detailed, itemized bill to provide to the home warranty company I was ignored. So, of course, this lets the home warranty company off the hook. I am very disappointed that Mr. Clark did not feel the need to assist a senior citizen lady living alone by simply providing an itemized receipt, despite my numerous calls and emails requesting it. read more

Make sure to get their promise in writing with a signature! There is no honest technicians anymore. He says he will not charge a service call if the problem occurs again but when he comes, he charges and he will argue that you have nothing in writing to prove his promise otherwise. read more

Clark's replaced our AC and heating unit 5+years ago with a 10 year part and labor warrantee. We were out of town recently and when we returned our AC was not working. Called Clark's at around 4 P.M. and ask if someone could check it out in the morning (not an emergency since the overnight temp. were in the low 60s. They 2-3 employees worked most of the day replacing almost everything in my unit. No charge. Two weeks later again my AC was not working properly. The problem was the line from the AC to attic had a hole in it from a nail during my roof replacement. This was not replaced (not part of contract) when AC was installed. The roof contractor replaced the line. Clark's recharged my system and still no charge. Another thing that really impressed me about their customer service is they provided me with a portable AC until the contractor could fix the line (over a week). I have never received such wonderful customer service who made a bad situation not so bad. They live up to their moto "how can I make you smile". read more

I just want to share my experience today with Clark Heating & AC. At approx 4:15 p.m. today, I noticed our AC system upstairs was not working. The temp was 99 degrees. My husband immediately got on the phone and called them. A technician showed up in approx 30 min and found that a contact was broken and fixed it. What great customer service!
