He also replaced a few wall panels that were pieced together rather than one whole single panel, which makes the wall look much more professionally done. We had a small amount of water dripping from our basement window on 8/2020. Mike came in and said I…read moreneeded to have a trench put in from the window to the back corner of the home and have a sump pump put in to eliminate any future problems. $2,700 dollars later he completed the project and went on his way. We monitored the basement very carefully and saw that no water was dripping in anymore and so the sump pump never went on. Today, 11/2024 we are in the process of a home sale and the buyers inspection company told us that the sump pump was broken and needed to be fixed or replaced before we could sell. I called Mike at Enviropro several times and got no answer. I finally drove 30 minutes to his office address which is actually his house and he came to the door. I explained my situation and showed him my receipt. I told him the home inspector tried it and stated that it looked like the sump pump had never been used, but would not go on when he tested it. This is coming from an unbiased home inspector hired by the people buying our house. Mike said that he was glad that I came to him before going to a plumber, because he stated "HE WOULD MAKE IT RIGHT". He came the next day and came right in, trying the pump and seeing the the inspector was correct. A pump put in by Enviropro and never used, was broken and not working. It was probably flawed from the beginning. Without any discussion Mike went to his truck and got a brand new replacement. I thanked him and asked for a receipt or a statement showing it was replaced to give to the buyers of our house. He completed a receipt and then told me that will be $ 397.50. I WAS STUNNED. I said you never discussed any money when I went to your house, nor did you mention any payment before installing at my house. You acted like it was a bad part and in your words "YOU WOULD MAKE IT RIGHT". I then asked if we could come to a negotiated price and he said no, I need to be paid now. I was very upset at the way he conducted his business and how he misled me until he completed the job, but I paid him the entire amount and asked him to leave my house. He could have been more forthright and then I could have decided whether or not I wanted to use him or get a better price from another company. He acted all along as if he would back up his work and again his words "MAKE IT RIGHT". He is a scam artist and should not be trusted. I thought he would back up his work and honor his word, but instead I got taken by con man. Think long and hard before hiring this company, because you never know what the final result or bill will be until they actually complete the job.

When we were choosing a contractor, Mr. Contractor's Yelp rating gave me some hesitation - especially given the high ratings elsewhere. But when I read the reviews themselves rather than just looking at the overall rating, many of the complaints seemed to involve relatively small jobs. We needed someone for a large, complicated renovation of a very old house, and the experience and capabilities Ken demonstrated seemed much better suited to that kind of project. Having now completed the job, I'm very glad we made that distinction. This was a big project, and our old house threw plenty of surprises at us. Once the demo began, our engineer found that part of the kitchen needed to be structurally rebuilt from the foundation up. That meant coordinating with our architect and structural engineer and substantially expanded the work. Despite that and the many twists and turns that followed, Ken and his crew kept things moving and completed an extraordinary amount of work in just 10 weeks. What really stood out was the crew. These guys were craftsmen who took genuine pride in what they were building. More than once, they spent extra time on something simply to get the finished result just right or recommended enhancements that were not charged. A friend who is a high-end interior designer saw the kitchen afterward and was impressed by the quality of the construction and attention to detail. We also lived in the house throughout the renovation. The crew was friendly and respectful, and they cleaned up the work areas at the end of every day -- something we came to appreciate enormously during 10 weeks of construction. Was every little detail perfect the first time? No. But that's actually part of why I'm comfortable giving Ken five stars. When something wasn't right, he worked to make it right. He and his team stayed engaged through the end of the project, addressed our punch-list items, and have continued to stand behind their work afterward. And we LOVE the result. The kitchen has completely changed the way we live in the house. It has become the place where our family naturally gathers, and it's as comfortable and functional to cook in as it is beautiful. The new bathroom has been equally transformative. At the beginning, I worried that we might be spending too much on the project - and it was significant. But by the end, having seen the amount of work involved and the quality and care that went into it, I felt exactly the opposite: we received very good value for our money. My takeaway is that Ken's particular strength is a substantial, complex project where you need an experienced GC who can keep multiple trades moving, deal with unexpected conditions, solve problems as they arise, and see the whole thing through. Renovating a 130-year-old house isn't easy, and I'd much rather have a contractor who knows how to deal with the inevitable problems and stands behind the finished product. We'd happily hire Ken and Mr. Contractor again.

I decided to hire him to install my kitchen for my full home remodel. I have zero regrets choosing him for the job. He did an excellent job and he did it right. I really liked his quality of work and his work ethic. I decided to ask him for a couple more estimates for other jobs that still need to be completed. I hired him for those jobs also. Sean's work is top notch at a fair price. Sean knows what he is doing without question. He's honest and has a great deal of pride in his work.... and it shows. He fully honored his contracts and didn't skip on completing any of the work I hired him to do. When he was done for the day he made sure he, and his assistant Zack, cleaned up before they left for the day. I've had several contractors in my house since this project started. There's only two that I would highly recommend. Sean is one of them. The other contractor was the electrician. I still have more work that needs to be done in the future. I trust Sean enough to make sure he will be the contractor I'll call when I'm ready to start getting those jobs completed.

Money was exchanged for services and this is a review of my experience with those services. I support FDS Construction as a family owned business. I believe they do good work. I understand the challenges small business owners face with managing projects and we do the best we can. However, as the consumer, when the dust cleared and the work was done, in my opinion, there were gaping holes in quality and service. Unfortunately it felt like the next project took precedence over wrapping up my renovation project. There were unfinished projects that were promised to be rectified, but never were. The worst offense was that a a pre existing gaping space between the basement wall and the great outdoors was not filled in. I ended up going to Ace Hardware to buy foam filler and do it myself. Overall, I was left unsatisfied and really disappointed. The project started out great and lost steam. I thought it was a pretty straightforward basement renovation, so I'm not sure what the issues were. In hindsight, I should've held the final payment until all the "little fixes" were completed. In my industry, it's all in the details, and I expect the same from anyone I work with, especially in the construction. I'm not sure what I could've done differently other than parked myself downstairs all day to keep my eye on the work, which is exactly the opposite what I wanted in hiring a contractor in the first place. In terms of the staff and crew, they were really nice. Timely and super pleasant. Again this is a business and services review, not vengeance or any sort of malice (you know how folks be on Yelp).
