My experience with DJ Connection was less than ideal, to say the least. 1) We did not get to meet, talk to, or know anything about or DJ until the day of our wedding. All of the calls we had were with sales people, essentially. In these calls, they would also get information wrong as far as the vibe we wanted and songs we wanted to be played - as if they were reading notes from a different wedding. 2) We were asked what "energy level" we wanted our DJ to have. We said we wanted someone upbeat and who would be able to "read the room" and get everyone hyped throughout the event. This 100% did not happen. Our DJ (who never officially introduced himself, so we didn't even know his name) looked like he wanted to be anywhere but at the wedding. His energy level was about a 2 out of 10. 3) This is the biggest flaw - the grand entrance and first dance song. The DJ was supposed to cue us into the venue for our grand entrance by announcing us as a couple. Instead, he said nothing. It was super awkward because we had no cue as to when we were supposed to enter. Then, he plays the wrong song for our first dance. It was the wrong tempo and vibe, as well. After about 15 seconds, we loudly whispered to him that it was the incorrect song. He ended up playing the right song, but this moment was completely ruined and mortifying. 4) While we provided song lists for the cocktail hour and dinner, a lot of the same songs were played for both. But, the reception playlist was completely in line with what we gave them. I would not recommend DJ Connection to any bride. The price is alluring, but it really seems like a toss up as to what kind of DJ you will end up with. read more

Myself and event planner had to remind him or ask and even then still didn't announce what we asked. Worst experience ever. I even grabbed the mic to announce and guide my crowd. Ryan with DJCONNECTIONS tried to bribe me with $150 refund to sign a contact saying I couldn't complain. I have the email I can forward. I don't want your CHUMP CHANGE, you were out of contract and didn't provide me with what was quoted and paid. See you in small claims. Venue. Myself. Guest and event planner do not recommend. Everyone should use this DJ service in the Rocky Mountain region! I had the best experience and can't say enough about my DJ and the wedding day itself. I contacted this company VERY early in the planning process since I was planning from Louisiana at the time. I was able to get a huge discount by booking early and it really helped make a DJ affordable. I had reservations that the playlist may not be mixed well or something with the price i paid, but i held to my contract. The folks at the office were EXTREMELY energetic and like to act as comic relief in the planning process. They do an initial event interview with you over the phone and record notes about what you want the event experience to feel like. It was a long conversation but well worth it. The month or so before you work on their website to make adjustment to the preloaded event itinerary and add "must-play" and "do not play" songs. It's very user friendly and was a great way for us to have a record of the ceremonial and reception songs. On the week of the event, the company office checks in to make sure everything is in order on both ends. I did not know who my DJ was until this point and did not get to meet him until the day-of. In the end, I got Andrew and he was phenomenal. He was rolling with the punches that we swung due to changes in plans according to weather. He was energetic and engaging with our guests. We recently had our wedding April 23 and it was everything we'd ever asked for. Our DJ was in constant communication with us, he would find us in times of need and play the music we suggested. We especially appreciated the adaptability due to family members wanting their time to shine, our dj always asked permission and made sure my husband or I were ok with the changes. I hate thinking back on my wedding and remembering how terrible the dj was. He didn't play requested songs and completely went off script, he had the music so loud people had to stay outside and even left early because of it (I asked 4 times to turn it down myself, others did as well throughout the night), he obliterated very simple names during introductions even after being corrected, he kept coming to our table to ask us what was going to happen next even though there was a schedule that they wanted us to make for him. Overall a terrible experience I wouldn't want anyone else to go through. Everyone came from out of state that we hadn't seen in years and couldn't even talk to them without screaming in their ear. The guy was rude about everything and had an obvious attitude. He wanted a nightclub vibe after we asked for a classy reception vibe. The company said that they were going to review the recording of the night and get back with us but there's no way that they will be able to hear anything with the loud nightclub vibe going on and maybe he knew that. The scheduling process was so smooth and honestly made us feel like they genuinely cared because of all the detailed questions they asked. The vibe you want is definitely in their options! This was the best decision to go with DJ Connection. I was a little worried at first because I didn't meet my DJ months and months prior - but they have it down. The DJ we got the day of was fantastic, personable, and clearly cared that we had an amazing night. He even went so far as to bring my husband and I a cocktail at dinnertime. He was able to read the crowd, play music accordingly and was flexible with last minute changes in the schedule. Every time I looked over at him, he seemed to be smiling (through his mask). Overall DJ Connection was super easy to work with, they have such a large database, their customer service was superb, and they were flexible with having to change our wedding date due to COVID (unlike other vendors). I found DJ Connection right before I got engaged as I did some pre-wedding planning. DJ Connection is a DJ service filled with energetic customer service reps and a DJ to match every different personality type. I liked the personalized experience through my planning with them. DJ Connection uses an online portal to pick and choose your wedding playlist and must have songs. I really liked being able to log in, choose the songs I want and add them to the list. A week before your wedding, they call to go over each song and make sure they have your timeline down. The DJ showed up to the wedding on time, very professional and set up quick. The only issue I had was the girl on the phone during my 1 week to go check in ensured me that she would download the correct version of my walking down the aisle song and when I went to walk down the aisle, she had downloaded the rock version. My DJ had to quickly act on his feet and play the right version because I told him I was not walking down the aisle to rock. He did an excellent job and had the right song in about 45 seconds. I wish they would've played more pump up music I felt like sometimes it was a little slow.. read more

Let me start by saying the Evan from DJ Connection did a nice job with our wedding, and things overall went smoothly. There were no major audio issues, and Evan followed the list of songs I had provided for each portion of the wedding, which was great. DJ Connection was unfortunately probably the most stressful vendor to deal with. Through the process, you deal exclusively with the corporate office, and not with your actual DJ which is 90% of the problem. The corporate office gathers all the information and is supposed to relay everything to the DJ, but I think a lot gets lost in translation. Their online song system is reminiscent of Kazaa or Napster - with clunky search features. It also didn't have a lot of the Indie music we were looking for (Bon Iver, Gregory Alan Isakov), and even though the company had no issue finding and playing that music, it then required a lot of extra communication to make sure that they played the music we couldn't input into the online system, which was a headache. I ended up typing up and emailing a list of songs to the DJ before the wedding and scratching the online system all together since it was making things too complicated. Like most corporate offices, they are hard to reach outside of business hours. With my schedule, that made things very challenging. They also didn't seem to respond to most of my emails personally, and despite multiple voicemails and direct emails, I would often get automated emails we bullet lists of items that we needed to get done (ignoring the fact that I had called to discuss several of them). Further, when we asked to speak to our actual day-of DJ before the wedding, the corporate office tried to make that happen, but it was a huge challenge Ultimately, we chatted with Evan, but they were unable to guarantee a phone call or help orchestrate that, and when we pushed back a little they claimed their hands were tied and it was their policy to not give out the DJ's contact information to us. I'm glad we did, because it seemed like Evan had not been provided with a lot of the details we discussed regarding the musical performers at our ceremony and a few other details. And despite discussing no-lapel-mikes several times, on the day of, our officiant was wearing a lapel mike, leaving me and my groom to scramble for a hand held mike when it came time to read off our vows. Like I said, overall the day was great and Evan did a nice job. I think the problem is really in the work flow that DJ connection uses, and it would have been much less of a headache if we had just worked with one DJ all along - the DJ who would be actually there on the day of our wedding. I'd recommend going with an independent DJ instead of a big company. read more

I met a DJ Connection rep at a bridal show and was immediately drawn to their quirky sense of humor and agreeable pricing. I was excited for our wedding as we had been meeting over the phone with people from DJ Connection and were able to update our "Special Request" songs as needed. We weren't able to meet our DJ until the day of the wedding despite a couple of requests beforehand. During dinner he played country music, which was a firm "do not play" during our initial meetings. When we confronted him about it he changed it to a generic Frank Sinatra "Love" inspired playlist. There were a few fumbles with playing a few songs and genres on our Do Not Play list, and us not feeling like he played enough of our Must Play songs. Our DJ was incredibly professional, attentive, and friendly. Despite more than a couple missteps, the general group of guests seemed like they were having a blast. Music was one of the most important things to us on our wedding day. We wanted to have a fun party atmosphere, and I think our DJ missed the mark. Update: Manager Mike got in touch with us on 11/14 and we discussed all of our setbacks and what we liked and disliked. He was very attentive and seemed very apologetic. Being able to talk to him definitely set us at ease. We have a good friend using DJC in January, and we look forward to seeing how they perform in the future. read more

I didn't have a wedding planner but they helped me organize the flow of the day through our 3+ calls in the months before the wedding. Super professional company that knew what they were doing. Had amazing suggestions for us as we were going through our planning but also were very supportive of helping some of the more original and unique ideas of ours become a reality. The Office Staff is friendly and helpful. Sometimes its very noisy in the background which to me isn't professional. The online portal is a ok. Love the hold music!! I really do think they need to rethink the finalizer appointment schedules. They need to be more flexible to the clients. The DJ they sent me however ruined my wedding. He was rude and very unprofessional. I wouldn't be surprised if they fired the guy. Music was way to loud, DJ played the wrong song for the 1st dance, messed up our balloon drop, hit shuffle and disappeared for 45mins to make a phone call. He didn't follow the timeline. Keep interrupting me to ask me what to do next. This guy was a total Jack Wagon. I have a call into the managers to address this issue but so far I haven't gotten a response... The DJ was awful, didnt introduce himself from the start, didnt play any music during cocktail hour until someone reminded him to because he was too busy on his phone, pronounced my MILs name completely wrong, introduced my husband and I using my name and MY FATHERS NAME, played shout as the 3rd song (who does that?), played weezer "say it aint so" while people were dancing and completely cleared the dance floor, played music I specifically said I didnt want played, when told he was doing a bad job he told me there was nothing he could do because he only had a binder of songs to choose from and couldn't find better songs because the binder was hard to go through (who is using binders in 2021? why are we not using playlists), never used the mic and never MCed the wedding (besides announcing us completely wrong), when told to put certain songs on he said "the bride told me no request" when I never said that and when we asked to take over (yes we asked to TAKE OVER HIS JOB because he was so bad) he said his aux cord was broken and we couldnt play the playlist I spent 3 hours making (I sent them this playlist 10 days in advance and they clearly just ignored it). Thank god my bridesmaid took the time to go through this stupid binder and wrote a list of songs for the DJ to play the rest of the night. if it wasnt for her the entire night would have been ruined. The big red flag you should take from them is they dont tell you your DJ until the day of the wedding. I knew this was a risk but I read reviews on the knot and they were very misleading. It is not worth the risk or the savings (since they were cheap in price). DO NOT BOOK THEM. DJ connections has done nothing to make up for this situation. I am so beyond disappointed with them and give a huge warning to NOT use them. read more

George was great and though he was being inundated with requests, he gave us his colleague Tod, who was fantastic. The music selection was broad and we had everyone--Boomers, Millennials and kids--out on the dance floor. Tod was the perfect DJ, he sensed the group, kept a low personal profile, but seemed to play just the right songs at the right time. He even seemed to be having fun himself with our choices. Of all my wedding vendors, DJ Connection is the one I regret. If music is a top priority to you as it was to us, I suggest you put some effort into your DJ search, meet with people when you can, explore your options & consider your budget. I didn't think DJ-ing an event would be difficult enough to justify high cost but apparently I was wrong. I met DJ Connection at a booth at a wedding show. The guy I talked to was outgoing & friendly. The package they were offering sounded awesome - full event, ceremony & reception, equipment - including speakers, lapel microphones for the ceremony & regular microphones for speeches - all for $840. I still believe this is an AMAZING deal! Their website was easy enough to use; I could list all the songs I wanted for my ceremony & then request all the songs for dinner & reception. They called me to set up times to discuss my playlist & overall 'feel' of the wedding. Any time I messaged them through the website, I was responded to within hours. All good things. The downfall of this company is that they convey being personable but aren't really at all. The reason for this is that YOU DO NOT MEET YOUR DJ UNTIL THE DAY OF. Even worse, I had asked about this upfront, wanting to know who my DJ would be in the first meeting with this company. They reassured me that even though I couldn't find out who my DJ was until about a month or two before the wedding, I would get to know him/her with enough time to feel that he/she understood our music taste, what was important to us on our wedding day & what we expected from our DJ. This never happened. I talked to an assortment of friendly staff from the company, discussed all my songs & the do not playlist & timeline of everything. Then SOME DUDE showed up on the wedding day whom I had never met. Why waste all that time talking to people who are not your DJ? The dude was not great as a general MC for the evening. He had to ask my coordinator what to say, when things were happening, etc. This should have been discussed before that day. If you've done lots of weddings, maybe you know some things that will come up that day - like how to announce tables to go get food from the buffet. Also, they do this photo trick where they call everyone out onto the dance floor to take a picture. It's just a play to get people dancing. Wow - you must think people are stupid.... I did not want to do this. I would dance, my husband would dance. Our guests would dance - we knew that! DJ Connection asked me - again over the phone, not my actual DJ - if I wanted to do this. I said no. Of course it happened anyways. I had to quickly explain to my photographer what was going on. Then people proceeded to tell her where to go to get the best shot. Jeez. DJ didn't play the cake cutting song or the last song of the evening. To top it off, this dude played our first dance song as the LIVE VERSION. The husband & I did some improve to our dance to the slower version. It was funny to us, but I also wanted to kick my DJ in the head. read more

The DJ who played at our wedding, Devin, was incredible. He really went above and beyond the duties of playing music by periodically checking if my husband and I needed anything, being conscientious of the timing of the wedding and name pronunciations, and just being a great guy! The weeks and days leading up to the wedding, DJ Connection contacted us to go over the details and their website made everything super easy. In addition to DJ services, they said they were experts in wedding planning. We also used them as referrals for other vendors for the event. The day of the wedding, Taylor was on the same page with us and everything went off without issue. Not only did the microphone cut in and out during our entire ceremony, but our special requests and announcements were completely ignored. Not surprising this all went wrong, you can't even talk to your DJ before your event which is such a terrible way to run a business like this. They direct you to their web portal which looks like it was created in 1980, then set you up with a random employee to talk about your event details that they do not share with the DJ. We found DJ Connection at a bridal show and they seemed very professional and legit. We booked with them 9 months our from our event date, which was our wedding. You get your own website to fill out songs you want played and not played, how you want your bridal party announced, what time you want everything to happen which seemed nice so they have a schedule to follow. You don't find out who your dj will be until a week before your wedding and you don't meet them until the day of your event or in my case my wedding. Everything went wrong with the dj from the very beginning. He was very unprofessional. The microphones didn't work for our ceremony so no one could hear us. My wedding planner and owners of the venue told him to check the microphones 3 times before it started and he said they were good to go. He announced my bridal party into the reception by the wrong names when all he had to do was read them off the paper we provided with the correct names on it. He announced my husband and I into the reception and then after we had sat down he told everyone to please stand because the bride and groom were about to make their grand entrance. Didn't play any of the right songs we had picked out for certain times like the song we wanted played when we walked in, or the song we wanted played when we were cutting the cake, etc. He was supposed to call out different table numbers to be released to go get dinner and he didn't call all the tables to be released so we had a ton of people waiting around to eat because they were waiting for their table to be called. He didn't play any of the songs we put on our playlist that we were told would be played. He knew how to clear the dance floor though. He kept playing the same songs over and over. We played the shoe game and he messed that up. He asked us the same questions over and over and over. He didn't run the show like you would assume a dj would. He kept coming over to me and asking me when he should move on to the next thing when he had the schedule I had already made up with a timeline of when I wanted things to happen. He kept leaving to go outside and finally I(the bride) saw him outside smoking weed and other guests of mine saw him too. So no wonder it seemed like he had no idea what he was doing because he was high the whole time. Since my wedding I have been trying to get ahold of someone to talk to about my experience with their dj and no one will give us the time of day to call us back. I have called and left messages. My mom has called and they told her someone would get back with her and no one has. Would 100% recommend NOT USING DJ Connection and spending your money elsewhere. THE ONE VENDOR WE REGRET BOOKING FOR OUR DAUGHTERS WEDDING!! We gave them in advanced a full playlist of what we wanted them to play. On the day of the wedding, the DJ showed up late! My Husband had to end up picking up the DJ and his equipment and bringing him up to the venue! Once he got there and set up all of his equipment. He kept having issues with his equipment! Once he finally got it working correctly he only played a few songs from our playlist the whole night. The rest of the music he kept playing was horrible! We'd go ask him to play our playlist or other songs and he'd just ignore us!! We called the company on Monday to complain about everything and to get reimbursed for not giving us what we agreed upon and we had a signed contract! The manager we spoke to on the phone was very unprofessional! He refused to even apologize for his employee. He said his employee did his job and performed his service! Then he tried lying to us telling us that he only received 5 song from our playlist. When I called him out on that and told him who we had spoke to at his office to make sure they did get our email about the playlist, then he changed his story and said, oh yes, we did have your whole playlist and his employee played it for us! We hired DJ Connection for our daughter's wedding at Spruce Mountain Ranch in Larkspur, Colorado in August. Michael showed up early, set up & was ready to go...very professional. He did an amazing job! The wedding was outside & it was windy, but the sound system was great. He moved inside for the reception & set the tone for the reception without being intrusive or over the top. We even got comments from other service people telling us that Michael was the best they had seen. We were so appreciative of the job he did & will cherish the memories forever. read more
