I recently had my flooring completely redone by David and his team, and I couldn't be happier with the end result. David quoted me $6,785.00, which included the supply and installation of new waterproof laminate (color: Bethany, ~1400 sq ft house), removal and disposal of the existing carpet and pad, framing the walls with quarter rounds, pulling up and resealing the toilet with a new wax seal, and moving appliances. Dave's quote was about $2,000 cheaper than every other quote I received through Yelp, which made me a bit nervous because as they say, "you get what you pay for!" The deposit was half of the total, and David's team was available to start the project the following Monday. I'm glad I took a leap of faith because David's team was punctual every morning and wrapped up by 5 PM each day. They paid attention to every detail, consistently checking in with me to make sure everything was done to my liking. After the project was done, they removed all the trash and made sure that the place was left clean. Their professionalism and dedication to getting it right made the project seamless. Everything seemed fine at first. The manager came in, discussed the project, and asked what we wanted done. From day one, however, I realized I would need to be present at all times because I quickly lost trust and confidence in the team. They showed up and left whenever they wanted, despite assuring us they could meet the agreed timeline. The workers were unfamiliar with the layout we requested, and the project exceeded the scheduled completion date. What should have taken three days ended up taking a full week, causing me to incur additional out-of-pocket expenses for lodging. I constantly had to direct the workers and monitor their work; otherwise, they would do things incorrectly or not as requested. To make matters worse, the manager later claimed they needed to charge extra for "leveling the floor," which they presented as a major issue across the entire house--when in reality, it was a small area. Furniture was damaged, and dried cement was left on walls and blinds. On the final day, cleanup was assigned to a single worker--an older woman--who physically could not lift heavy trash bags filled with broken tiles or rugs. With no proper help, I stepped in and assisted her using my own cart, even though this should not have been my responsibility. To add insult to injury, while helping, I was rudely told by a driver that I was loading the trailer incorrectly and ordered to redo the work, which I refused. Overall, this was one of the worst experiences I've had with a company. I expressed my dissatisfaction to the manager, who initially said he would reduce the cost, but then tried to increase the price above the original $7,000 agreement, citing the unnecessary "leveling" work. read more

I can't say whether this company is good or bad. But, I can say while looking for someone to do floors I got a call from them and was told they'll be over to do an estimate. They never showed. And never called me back. So, I just went ahead and did the flooring myself. That was always the plan, I just didn't have time. But, whatever, I saved myself a bunch of money. But, when it came to doing stairs, I figured I didn't have the time or experience for that, so once again I called DJ flooring, talked to them, they told me to send a picture and they'd get back to me. I sent a picture. Never heard from them again. So they could easily be the greatest place in the world. But twice they flaked on me and either didn't show up for their scheduled estimate, or didn't call me back after telling me they'd call me back. He's a nice guy, each time we talked, just wasn't reliable. read more

Found a highly recommended general contractor on a local FB group, who was too busy, but recommended Dave Laguna (who, I believe does flooring for this general contractor). Dave showed up on time, gave me a very reasonable estimate, worked with the tenant to schedule the work, showed up with 6 workers on the job day, made a couple "real time" adjustments (added molding throughout), and cleaned up after themselves. I'm a little late on posting this review but it is better late than never. I reached out to several flooring companies to see who would have the best prices and be able to fit the work in within the tight deadline that I had. I wanted to get it done before moving in and I wanted to move in before school started for my daughter in a week. Dave gave me a competitive quote for what seems like a decent product and was able to have some guys out within a day or so to get the pre work done and finished the job that week. There were a few odds and ends that needed to be buttoned up after the job, and it took a little planning back and forth but he ended up sending a few guys out to wrap up a few tiny things at the end. I found Dave through Home Advisors several years ago and had his crew install a laminate flooring in our 400 sq. ft. room addition in Orange County. Dave brought samples and quoted the job and was a few hundred dollars less than the other quotes we had received so we decided to hire him for the job. It was the best decision!! Dave and his crew were punctual, careful, professional and did clean up in such an impressive way that I knew if I did flooring again, I would have Dave and his crew do the job. Several years later, (in July 2020) we moved to Murrieta and wanted to replace the outdated flooring. I dug out my receipt and called Dave and he again quoted us a great price. We found an Italian tile we wanted to use from an OC supplier. Dave picked up the flooring and his crew had the old tile flooring removed and were installing the new floors the next day! They painted and installed the baseboards and we couldn't be happier. Everything looks amazing. In fact, we recommended him to both our daughters who were first time homeowners in San Jacinto and Temecula. I originally hired Dave to pull some tile and replace with matching laminate flooring. He had to push out the start date because his guys were not done on current job. At the conclusion of my job, I asked to have them caulk between flooring and kitchen island as I didn't want quarter rounds. His guy applied very dark brown no where near matching what I had in floor color. Dave brought more caulking that didn't match either. I said I would take care of it. They left a large bubble under the floor in my kitchen that is still there. I removed a closet wall where we are building a living room wall unit and I asked Dave two weeks ago if he could install flooring in the 30' sq ft where the wall was removed. He confirmed on two additional occasions that he would be here Friday, October 2nd. So, I reached out at 9am this morning, when he said he would be here, and he starts with "I meant to call you. I don't have good news. My guys were working in Northern Cal and can't make it". I said "Dave, you agreed to this Friday two weeks ago and confirmed on further communication days. I said I had a painter, baseboards being installed and floating cabinets that needed the floor done first. You assured me it wasn't a problem. Dave never notified me and only informed me once I called him after he was supposed to be at my house. I had to cancel two different contractors who were already on site and push out my schedule because Dave double books and doesn't create pad in his schedule - even when notified other contractors are in line. Wanted to replace my carpet flooring for luxury vinyl flooring. Got several estimates and one from Dave for my stairs and second floor. He was really responsive and was the first person to show up to get measurements. He gave me a quote up front and ended up being the best deal out of the other companies that I got quotes from. Dave was also backed up with great reviews on Yelp and on Angie's List. Dave initially told me it would take approximately 3 days to complete the project. Demoing and installing the new flooring. However, this ended up taking longer than expected due to the manufacturer delaying the shipping materials. I was disappointed, but it was not Dave's fault. Jorge did the demoing and installing. Jorge has been in the business for over 15 years and knew what he was doing. He was quick and paid attention to detail. Make sure to ask for Jorge when having your flooring done. Once the project was complete, there were some scuff marks on the walls, but Dave offered to have the paint corrected. Overall, I was satisfied with the price and work. read more

Then he picked out tile that gave the bathroom extra pizzazz. He showed up on time, did an excellent job, and the entire cost was exactly as quoted. I had DJ Laguna do our flooring throughout our house, using high grade vinyl wood flooring downstairs and the stairs, and carpet on the 2nd story. They used separate crews for the vinyl wood and the carpet and both crews did a fantastic job. The other contractors doing our cabinets and bathrooms were even impressed with their professional quality work, especially the tight angles at the base of the stairs, the molding around the baseboards and the precise cutting up to the edge of the tiled bath tub surround. I didn't need to replace our nice baseboards, as they were very careful not to damage them, and used 1/4 round with calking to complement them. Another contractor gave me a bid that was almost twice the cost as David Laguna's but unnecessarily included replacement of the baseboards as well. We have had nothing but compliments on our new flooring and the cost was highly competitive. I discovered them through word of mouth from two of our neighbors who gladly used them. I strongly recommend them, and would not hesitate to use them again. read more
