When I was on the hunt for the perfect vendors for our wedding, I went through a huge list of DJs. I had gone through so many profiles of DJ's and they were all starting to sound the same, and yet no one perfectly fit the bill for what we were looking for. Where do I begin on how grateful my husband and I that we found DJ Tessa was our DJ for our wedding?! DJ Tessa was the perfect fit for our wedding and we wouldn't have it any other way! She was cool, calm and collected from the very beginning (which was all the way back in April of 2020 as we were a COVID postponement). When we started our search, it was important for my wife and I to find an inclusive female DJ who was used to multi-cultural weddings, since we included Filipino-Chinese traditions like a tea ceremony and money dance during our reception. Tessa listened to what we needed, asked for any song requests that we wanted at the beginning and then somehow managed to blow our minds with an incredible set with songs edited down to the second and songs we completely forgot to request! Tessa was the DJ/emcee for my friends' wedding last weekend and she was great! Music is such a big part of making a wedding reception fun and high-energy, and Tessa did a fantastic job. My husband and I had been to countless weddings and by the time it was our turn, we were set on the things we wanted and the things that we could do without: music was key to our special day and was one of the things that we refused to compromise for - we wanted specific songs and wanted someone who would really carry the musical layout for the entire night! You've been to your share of weddings where the music fizzles, guests don't dance, and you're left awkwardly checking your watch/phone, waiting for the perfect moment to leave. We were committed to NOT letting our wedding be that type of wedding. I came across Tessa at one of my 13 (!) venue visits and although we ended up booking a different venue, I remembered the awesome mix she played, how she was legit in the sense that she was mixing onsite, and mostly, she was into the music herself. We exchanged smiles at that venue visit and I got a great, warm vibe from her - I remembered that and the music when the time game for me to interview my own list of wedding DJ options. Tessa made that process painless and was refreshing in the midst of other DJ's who didn't seem to be able to execute the vibe we wanted. As if this weren't enough, Tessa also provided light mc'ing through our event and really kept the event flowing. All of my guests, 133 days later, are still fondly remembering how awesome our wedding was and Tessa was a HUGE part of its success. When you've been together a long time (14 years!) and then finally get engaged, life affords you some ability to really make your special day everything you want. My husband and I got married earlier this year and waited months to have a larger banquet reception. We didn't plan on hiring a DJ or having any dancing initially, but after a little consideration, we decided to at least look into it. After doing a little comparison shopping, we decided to go with Tessa because of our first impression of her: professional, super nice, and flexible/adaptable to our tastes. As our budget was nearing our cap before we researched DJs, she was understanding and willing to work with us on her fees, and we ended up at a happy place. We didn't offer a lot of direction early on (great clients, right?) and we were still working out details of our program up to the last day, but she took it all in stride. She helped MC part of the evening with my brother, and even brought a couple of lights when I told her that we didn't have any dance-specific lighting. The bulk of the evening was taken up by the 10-course banquet and her selection of background music worked perfectly- not too soothing as to put everyone to sleep, but not so raucous as to be jarring. The dance portion of the evening was a lot of fun. Tessa kept everyone willing to dance on the floor for the rest of the night! From beginning to end, Tessa was courteous, professional, easy-to-work-with, and on-the-ball. I would definitely recommend her for any occasion! DJ Tessa is professional, on top of things, and super fun. We had her do light MC and DJ our wedding. I am 1000% satisfied with her. She was quick to listen to our requests, took the time to get to know us, and followed up in timely manner. She is super duper and I love her to pieces. When it was show time, she delivered on queue, was very clear and concise in directing our guests, and got the jams on. I highly recommend her for any event. DJ Tessa is such an awesome pro. We really wanted to hire a DJ that understood our musical taste and we were so lucky to find her! We have an eclectic musical palate (80's/90's alternative/goth/punk etc.). She really listened to us and took into consideration the feeling we wanted to convey for the wedding and reception. She did a great job combining what we wanted, and added some well known tunes that appealed to all tastes in the crowd.
