Worked with DJ JP for our celebration wedding as we had our COVID wedding with just family members a year ago. John was the most accommodating of all our vendors and I am thankful for that in itself as it was very busy time through the planning process. He made all the requested revisions to the contract we asked for with no issues and was very prompt. On the day of, he showed up on-time, with all the equipment asked for and set up everything as planned. He made sure he came over to me during final checks so everything was to our liking. I hired DJ JP for my wedding this past weekend due to all of the great reviews on Yelp. DJ JP is a nice guy, but I was very disappointed with his services. He was very accommodating by editing one of my music files for my first dance and also brought all of his equipment, which I truly appreciate, but I'm not really sure what happened on the wedding day. He played the wrong song in the beginning of the ceremony. My processional songs are instrumentals, but he was playing songs with vocals. I was really upset because I went over it with him beforehand through emails/texts, wrote down the song titles/timestamps (as seen in the photo I attached), sent the song files directly to him, etc. I also personally sent over my reception playlist on a Google Drive, and he played songs that I didn't add like "Gangnam Style", which is a completely different genre of music from the songs I wanted playing during the dancing time (hip hop), and I wrote to play "Humble" for the garter toss, and he played it for a bit and then switched over to some football song, which I never asked for. He came up to me during the cocktail hour and apologized, which I appreciate, but said he was nervous which was the reason for the errors during the ceremony. I booked DJ JP for a wedding a couple weeks ago and he was amazing. My now wife and I had gone to a wedding he DJ'd 1-2 years prior and asked if he was willing to do ours too. We liked working with him because: 1. He was easy to work with. When you're juggling a handful of vendors you really want someone that knows what he's doing and knows what has to be done. When we first met, he gave us a breakdown of what we need and when, and answered all questions we had promptly through our planing phase. 2. His package was all inclusive of everything we could possibly need in regards to sound/audio. Our venue had separate fees for renting out microphones, speakers, lights, etc. which was really adding up. Our DJ brought them all. There was even an option for an overhead light display that we jumped on as well that really made our reception feel special. Everything looked very professional. For the ceremony, he even had a clip on mic for our officiant so that he wouldn't have to awkwardly hold a mic! 3. He made our reception sound amazing. He requested a playlist from us some time before the wedding, and having never made one, it took my wife and I quite some time to put together a list that even we thought was pretty lackluster. We gave him freedom in regards to what to play, but noted that a couple songs were important. He made sure that the songs we wanted were all in and took out a lot of the songs that weren't really great for the reception. Daniel CY & DJ JP are fantastic! I have searched various DJ/MC combo in SoCal who can also speak Korean. Daniel was very kind from the beginning when I met him in the intro call. His game ideas are so diverse and fun. He understands the audience well and tailors what's needed for the reception. We were planning our wedding during Covid, and he was so thoughtful for price consideration, etc. DJ John has been a huge help for our wedding. He arrived 3-4 hours earlier than the ceremony, focused on setting up and reading the overall ambiance of our wedding fast, and competently equipped himself. His selections of choices were great; we got a lot of compliments for the songs. We were very fortunate to have found MC Daniel and DJ JP and yelp and booked them for our wedding couple weeks back! We were going to have many older Korean guests, so we were looking for a bilingual MC who would be able to communicate and connect with guests in English and Korean. We chose to reach out to MC Daniel due to the positive reviews from past clients, and I am very happy with his service and performance before and during our wedding. While we had a day-of-coordinator, MC Daniel also walked us through a suggested timeline before the wedding and provided great advice and perspective on the timing of certain reception activities. Additionally, MC Daniel was able to suggest fun activities and games that would be fun for us and the guests! On the day of, MC Daniel was able to smoothly transition from one activity to another without awkward silences, and after the wedding, so many of our guests told us that they loved having a bilingual mc and thought he was great! Although I did not communicate with DJ JP as much as MC Daniel, we really enjoyed the music he played during our reception! We sent some requests for last songs, cake cutting song, etc, but otherwise DJ JP did a great job playing music that fit the mood and had the younger guests dancing. I've been to a lot of weddings and my number one pet peeve is when the dj is terrible. You know who they are - the ones who play a song from beginning to end, the ones who stick to their preferred genre, the ones who don't take song requests i.e. the ones who can't read the room. I was not about to have a dj who played songs from her iTunes and left her area unattended to go hang out with the bartender while the guests awkwardly shuffled around techno music (true story). A friend of mine used DJ JP for his wedding and highly recommended him. I messaged the business on Yelp and MC Daniel replied very promptly. He answered any and all questions I had regarding DJ services and rates (highly competitive!!) and then connected me to DJ JP so I could make my decision. Once I chose to have DJ JP (John), he was always very prompt in his communication with me regarding what he needed and when and what he provided. I had a list of song requests and a very strict do not play list that he accepted with good humor. I also really appreciated the fact that he never plays the "dirty" version of songs - my wedding had a lot of young children and church members in attendance so that was a no no. On the day of, I could not be more pleased with the music. It was to my taste and from how my guests were dancing, to their taste as well. I hired MC Daniel for my wedding without knowing anything about his style, performance or execution...but went along with him by his amazing rates and other referrals. Now I've gone to many weddings, but I am going to tout that he is probably the smoothest, most natural MC I ever witnessed, and I am not just fluffing him up because he was my MC either. I felt he just made the reception flow so efficiently and there was not a minute wasted. We were able to fit all the games, cake cutting, photos, and dancing, while even leaving time to spare for our after party in the hotel room. Why I initially chose them out of all the other MC's and DJ's out there: - I watched the sample videos they posted on their website and loved it - Our guests are primarily asian. We wanted an MC who could kind of relate to this group of guests. - One of the reviews mentioned that their wedding had a lot of their christian church members attending, and that DJ JP kept the music clean and PG for them. Our wedding had a good amount of parents, church family, and kids. We needed that PG music haha. PRE-WEDDING: - They're very responsive to communication. I never had a question go unanswered. - MC Daniel took the time to call us and talk about what activities we want to do for the wedding. He had GREAT suggestions and made my wedding planning so much easier. - DJ JP also had an extensive list of song suggestions for everything - walking down the aisle, grand entrance, first dance, etc. He also asked about what songs/genre of music we preferred to personalize the music to our taste. - Closer to the wedding date, MC Daniel took time to look at our wedding itinerary to provide suggestions, comments, etc. WEDDING: - Both during and after the wedding, our guests RAVED about the MC and DJ without us asking. I think that alone speaks for itself. - MC Daniel is naturally outgoing and hilarious. This review is for DJ JP. We were introduced to DJ JP through an acquaintance. He was absolutely fantastic!!! This isn't some guy with a macbook hitting play buttons. He came fully equipped! I was so stupid and didn't even realize I didn't have a microphone. Thank goodness he had couple to spare at a moment's notice. DJ JP was absolutely pleasant to work with. He fully took on my playlist and any request I had for him. But of course, I made another stupid mistake of not thinking of a playlist for the guests' entrance, cocktail hour, and all the other in between times. DJ JP was a professional. He played all the right songs appropriate for each phase of the wedding. Even during the garter toss, he played some sexy music, which riled up the crowd like no other. lol. Long story short, he knows what's up. He knows what to do at a wedding. All my guests loved his song selection during the dance time. Let me just start off by explaining that we had some good friends in the wedding industry, a lot of friends recently married, and a really good idea of what we wanted our wedding to be like. In fact, nearly all of our vendors were hired based on direct referrals from our close friends and family. Music/Entertainment was the only main service we did not have a direct referral for and had to search for ourselves. As you can imagine, your DJ and MC can either make or break your wedding. They set the tone, the music, and the whole vibe of the night! We were a bit nervous and searched the internet for a good fit for our wedding. My wife did most of the wedding planning, but she did task me with choosing and hiring the DJ/MC. After some research, we agreed that MC CY (Dan) had the style and vibe we were looking for. As our wedding day approached, we had a video conference with CY to touch base and review the wedding timeline. What impressed me the most was that although CY has his own great ideas and plans in mind, he was very open to hear out what we wanted. We encountered some other wedding vendors that were less flexible and only cared about their own ideas. CY was definitely not like that. My wifey and I can be a bit picky and particular, and these guys definitely accommodated our requests. So this is a package deal and along with MC Dan, we also had the pleasure of working with DJ JP who was fantastic as well. JP provided the music for our ceremony and reception. We were able to make playlists and song requests online ahead of time, which was convenient. Both MC Dan and DJ JP definitely brought the party! We had picked a couple of games to play ahead of time, and Dan got the crowd going and kept it super fun! Everyone was laughing, having a great time, and participating in the games! I would love to leave an amazing yelp review for these two. They were the heroes to my wedding. My wedding with my lovely husband was March 16, 2018 at a complete DIY wedding. Because of all the little things we wanted to present to our guest at the wedding, we had to make sure everything ran smoothly. MC Daniel knew what we wanted to do and went over our schedule for our ceremony over and over again to make sure it was exactly what we wanted. He knew what I was concerned about and gave me recommendations and advised us on what to do. The day of the event... my goodness.... I was extremely stressed out because my wedding coordinator was not doing her job and MC Daniel knew. He saw how much I was stressing out and took charge to run the reception smoothly. At the end, all of my guests had such a great time and they did not see how bad everything was running behinds the scenes. As I stated earlier, I have been a few wedding where the bride and groom had booked DJ JP as their DJ and for a good reason. He has a great ear and intuition for choosing the right music with the right lyrics to set the atmosphere. When he is behind the DJ mixer and he's spinning the music, it's like a smooth and exciting musical journey you go on each catered to the wedding couple. It seems as if he is able to put the wedding couple's personality and love into song. Each wedding event I went to with him as the DJ, it was completely different from the other. You never get the feeling that you heard this before. With each musical set, it done in a way that is very personalized for the couple for that particular moment. I don't know how else to explain it. I know that for each wedding, the couple has a play list but boy when DJ JP puts his touch to them and executes those songs, it is with perfect timing and it imprints a special memory on the heart even if I heard those songs a million times before. I used DJ JP for multiple weddings and the most recent one at my friend's wedding two weekends ago! Once again he delivered what he promised and the people (well, my people) stayed till close of the night partying and dancing it away. DJ JP I must say is definitely a crowd pleaser and knows to read the crowd and plays the right music at the right time. His genres are diverse from Asian Pop, American Hip Hop, Pop, and Latin Pop, super versatile and even accommodating to the guests when requesting songs.
