Of course I was going to write this anyways, mostly to brag about what a fun time I had! My friend invited me to Eco-System, a co-working space where they did a demonstration and video recording of this fantastic corporate trivia tool. The emcees were energetic, and at first I was like, "Oh god, I hate cheesy games," but I totally got into it. There were three rounds of various questions. They were creative and well-written... more critical thinking than needing to know random facts. I'm not that great at trivia but was still able to answer a good number of questions. And best of all, there's "Smartass Responses!" Basically if you KNOW you don't know the answer to something, you can type a smartass answer, and if it gets a laugh from the audience, you get a silly prize. Just the engagement of all different knowledge levels is impressive. There wasn't a dull moment, and even though we were only allowed to use one person's Smartphone, all the mechanics worked out well. I hope to find a purpose for hiring The Big Quiz Thing. Fortunately and unfortunately I work remotely, so I can't exactly organize a corporate team-building event. I just want to have this experience all over again. So glad my friend invited me, and I would highly recommend them!

His questions are thoughtful, fun, and just challenging enough to make a competition out of things. The planning process was very smooth, and Kenneth was incredibly responsive throughout the process. Ava and Cristina were our two hosts who came onsite, and they were great! Set up and clean up we're super fast, and the whole event flowed really nicely. They even let us finish the puzzles even though the timer ran out before the first team figured it all out. The escape room itself was challenging, and encouraged us to collaborate as a team. Would highly recommend BreakoutIQ!

I didn't know how they would bring the escape room to us but it was perfect. We were going to do an offsite with a location based one but timing and location wasn't working for us so I thought I'd try breakout IQ. I'm so glad I did! It is a true test of team building and communication. The facilitation at the start was great. It really spoke to what I wanted my staff and me to get out of it. And the debrief was on par as well. It fit in nicely with the theme of our day long retreat. Besides fun it was educational on an individual and group level. All of the hosts I have played with have been fun and engaging. I love that the event ultimately supports local bars and restaurants. That's what it's all about! The experience is completely free. I suppose you could even skip ordering anything at all at some locations and simply play the trivia game and leave. I love that the questions and categories are so mixed and there is such a wide variety throughout the evening. Games typically start at 7:30 PM, with check-in starting at 7 PM. I have not been to any location that has different start times. DJ Trivia is the perfect mid-week activity. It gives me something to look forward to during the work week, and I love that I can play with a small group of friends or invite the whole crew. While I may not be a trivia whiz, it's still a great time, and I am thrilled that this organization exists and brings awesome trivia games to Northern Nevada. I would love to see even more games in the Carson/Minden area.

So when I moved back to Reno 5 years ago, it was quite disappointing to find out that there was no Geeks Who Drink trivia anywhere in town. Enter DJ Trivia! We first experienced it at Midtown Wine Bar last year and had a total blast, even though we were far from winning! Since then, we've popped around to different places and played with different hosts. The absolute best has been Elgin, or Mr. e. He is funny and kind and knows how to keep your attention! He's also great with the music/song clues. We will specifically go to either Revision Brewery on a Thursday night or Shim's Surplus Supplies on a Sunday just because he's the host! The thing about trivia is everyone has some useless knowledge just sitting in their noggins. Whether you're the biggest nerd or think you know nothing, theres a good chance you'll enjoy trivia!
