Hands down, my FAVORITE dive bar in all of Nevada County. HUGE lawn (formerly an Olympic sized swimming pool) lots of shade and sunny spots, horse shoe, corn hole, covered deck, shaded deck, daily events such as local live music, trivia, karaoke, burlesque, open mic, annual 3 day music festival (both outdoor and indoor), etc, and host of private events such as weddings. Also, outdoor stage, indoor stage, 2 pool tables (free to play!), lounge area with a couch, tons of tabled seating inside and out, indoor games, outdoor BBQ grill (for special events)....the list goes on!! Super friendly staff and locals that frequent the bar! I've met so many amazing folks and made life long friends here. The owner, Lori, is the most kindest woman and really cares about her customers! This is my go-to bar to visit. Come on by and pay a visit!

Great service and friendly staff. I live about 2 miles away and can't believe we never visited this place over the past 30 years. My grandson brought me here when he turned 21 so he could have his first legal beer with his pops. read more

Stopped in for a quick beer to check out a new place! The owner Adam was manning the bar and was very welcoming and was very social, a great guy! It's a small area quite hidden from the highway, I would say a hidden gem. Somewhere to definitely stop in and see if you're in the area! read more

Great roadhouse! I've only been once, might need to revisit review for upgrade after checking out the live music. The bartender was cool, the bathroom was too clean for a dive bar, and the people were way too friendly also. I don't get all the 1 star reviews. I guess I will be back! read more

The Dew Drop Inn is just a few miles from my house and they seem to have a lot going on there so my wife and I stopped by on our way home for a drink. I am sure this is a fun spot if you are a regular; however, as someone new to the area looking for a place to grab a drink I was severely disappointed and would not recommend it. My wife and I stood waiting to order a drink at the bar cash in hand, for a good 15-20 minutes only to be ignored by the bartender (she did not acknowledge us at all even after looking at us several times.) On the other hand she did not have any issues taking orders from people she obviously knew that came in after us or took orders from other people who were already there and were reordering another drink. Finally we got tired of waiting, feeling uncomfortable standing there, and being ignored so we left. Two thumbs down. If you have not been there before I recommend you keep driving by and go to another bar that actually appreciates new business. read more

This is a five star bar. My favorite. Local watering hole. But they do not carry Hennessy anymore. It broke my heart. I would give it five stars for vibes and location. Great energy. But with out the Hennessy it's just one star. I'm willing to switch to five stars if they get Hennessy lol. I'm not budgin They have Hennessy. 5 stars. The bartenders are amazing. Great Dive bar right down off Hwy 49.. my wife and I go all the time since we live close, but its worth the drive even if you live outside of Auburn. Little dog named Bob cruises around the bar and sits on the stools. Theres a couple pool tables and the one upstairs is free. Get your self out to the Dew Drop! read more

You guys...this place is amazing. It is a quintessential rural, roadhouse bar. No food right now, but they do serve free popcorn! They have a lot of local bands play, which I enjoy. The place has been around FOREVER, and used to have an Olympic size swimming pool in front, which is now just a huge lawn. (Not sure if they ever use the lawn for events, but it's big enough. It's not fancy, but it is fun! read more

Coolest dive bar in Nevada County! We have a full service bar with 10 beers on tap and we currently have a selection of 36 beers, spiked waters, and ciders. Large outdoor area with huge lawn, we have 2 horseshoe pits outside, 2 pool tables that are open, and one of the largest dance floors in the county! Live music every Friday and Saturday night and Sunday afternoon. Karaoke every Tuesday @ 8pm and Trivia every Wednesday @ 7:30 pm. See you there

History

Established in 1900.

Our bar was established in this building in 1941, after a fire in the original building next door. The building was built in 1936 as the pool house for the Olympic size swimming pool, that is now our lawn. The original bar/restaurant/market/gas station is next door was established in the late 1800’s (and is privately owned), as are the small cabins that was was part of the inn.

Bought the bar with my husband Marcus in 4/17, after many years as a paramedic I needed a change and the bar was for sale! My family has been part of the music scene and my grandmother Millie bartended here for years.

They have TVs for distraction, but this isn't a place like BWW or an actual sports-themed bar where you would head to watch a game. Most of the time the TVs are just tuned to some local channel. The crowd tends to the rougher, less hewn corners of the community. Expect the bikers, trimmers, burn-outs, and random winos. Between getting blatantly ignored while standing right in front of the guy and watching how he treated the next customer, the bias here was obvious. If you aren't the right demographic, don't expect decent service.

The CA Cobb salad was about as big as a side plate and hardly any chicken and the hamburger was overcooked and WAY over seasoned. 2 hours from walking in the door to getting served. They tried to make amends by comping our meal..I understand restaurants can run out of food but when you "run out" you serve the people who put their order in 30 minutes before the latecomers are served. The event was good but there is EXTREMELY limited parking. The interior was hot as it didn't seem like the AC was working at first. Bottom line- it's nice to support small businesses but this one needs some serious schooling in restaurant management.

Individuals come to the local watering hole following weddings, dinners, sporting events, etc. which makes this an excellent place for "people watching" and meeting others. Overall the service is quick and friendly for nonalcoholic and alcohol beverages even when not sitting at the bar. The door guy and the bartenders do not mind the conversation and encourage positive energy even when need a moment to sit in silence to watch the world go by. Looking forward to my next visit to Liberal Bull.

New owners are cowardly pieces of shit. Not only did the kick me out as an on site maintenance person slash bartender, I was also banned from the bar for life for no reason at all. This place is amazing! Great owners and staff, very welcoming, the atmosphere is fun and casual, nice hangout. With live music, karaoke, open mic, an outdoor stage and huge lawn area, and open pool tables, something for everyone.
