After being constantly pestered to review them on Yelp, I'm giving 5 stars to The Big Quiz Thing. Just kidding about being pestered. Of course I was going to write this anyways, mostly to brag about what a fun time I had! My friend invited me to Eco-System, a co-working space where they did a demonstration and video recording of this fantastic corporate trivia tool. The emcees were energetic, and at first I was like, "Oh god, I hate cheesy games," but I totally got into it. There were three rounds of various questions. They were creative and well-written... more critical thinking than needing to know random facts. I'm not that great at trivia but was still able to answer a good number of questions. And best of all, there's "Smartass Responses!" Basically if you KNOW you don't know the answer to something, you can type a smartass answer, and if it gets a laugh from the audience, you get a silly prize. Just the engagement of all different knowledge levels is impressive. There wasn't a dull moment, and even though we were only allowed to use one person's Smartphone, all the mechanics worked out well. I hope to find a purpose for hiring The Big Quiz Thing. Fortunately and unfortunately I work remotely, so I can't exactly organize a corporate team-building event. I just want to have this experience all over again. We just celebrate our daughter's bat mitzvah (via Zoom of course) and in lieu of an in-person shindig opted to sponsor a TBQT event instead. We had more than 25 teams participate -- about 100 people -- spread across the country. Noah was our quizmaster and spent significant time with our daughter prior to the event to focus the game on her. Of course, the questions were hard enough that even she missed some of the answers. We had The Big Quiz Thing host a trivia night for our very competitive team at our company kick off. They were super easy to work with, very clear with their AV requirements and even went to do an independent site visit so that they were able to set up very quickly and easily on the day. I've had the pleasure of attending many BQT events since 2004, when I moved to NYC. I was sad to say goodbye to Manhattan and Noah's wit and encyclopedic knowledge of useless facts, so imagine my delight when he switched coasts! Having him here in San Francisco has been an absolute delight. When I describe BQT to someone who isn't familiar with it, I always mention how inventive the trivia rounds are. My favorite is probably the audio round, when Noah plays clips from different songs, and there is always a theme connecting them. The movie clip rounds are a blast, too. Noah recently did a trivia show at my kids' school, and everyone there agreed that it was the most fun they'd had in a long time! BQT is just as fun with kid-friendly material as it is with stuff for grown-ups. I love BQT so much. read more

We hired BQT for our son's bar mitzvah, and it was excellent! Noah and team made lemonade (great fun!) out of lemons (quarantine), customized a 60-min trivia session for about 40 ppl over Zoom, and were a big hit for our son and guests (ages 5-75!). The questions were clever, Noah was very engaging, and the show ran smoothly. Throughout the process, he and Jennifer were responsive and worked with us to make sure it was a success. Noah even incorporated some special cameo videos we sourced. While in-person would've been great, I'd trust BQT for engaging a crowd live or virtual. Highly recommended! read more

We used The Big Quiz Thing for a small corporate event. The process was simple and Jennifer was great to work with to get this planned as well as Diana, our Quiz Master! I was a bit worried as most of the reviews I had read seemed to be for large groups; our group was only 20 people. BQT makes fun, engaging offsites easy and cost effective. getting the event organized was a snap, the contract was short and common sense, Noah and team were flexible with my requests - and, most importantly, my team LOVED the trivia & friendly competition. The trivia is hard, but not impossible and the presentation is fun and engaging. The quizmaster moves things along so that it never drags and gives away fun and ridiculous prizes throughout. I've been a regular at Big Quiz Thing in Boston (where we were fortunate enough to have a monthly public engagement that drew a couple hundred people every time), and if you're expecting normal bar trivia, you're really not expecting what BQT really is. This is for people who care at least as much about the trivia as the bar. It's a lot like -- and has the production values of -- a televised game show. The categories and questions are really clever, well-researched, and fun. Many of the categories include audio, visual, or video cues -- the multimedia makes for a much more engaging and entertaining experience. Most trivia tends to be things you either know or you don't, but Noah's questions often require an extra level of deciphering, or include the kind of context clues where you find yourself figuring it out, learning the new fact, and then catch yourself laughing as you write it down. BQT also tends to draw a fun, outgoing, geeky crowd. I've made some permanent friends that I met just because I or they needed an extra person on their team. I never had a chance to attend a customized version of the show, but Noah occasionally shared stories of questions he made for corporate / birthday party / etc, and I feel fairly confident recommending them to anyone looking for private services as well. Noah is a really dynamic host/emcee. read more

We worked with The Big Quiz Thing for an event for the pre-launch of a product. Noah went above and beyond writing content that was really concentrated on the message we needed to get across to our customers. The hosts, Noah and Eric (we did the event twice, 1x in Orlando and 1x in Vegas), were AMAZING. I can't say enough about how accommodating they were, how great their stage presence was, and how well the orchestrated the event. On all fronts, I was blown away. The biggest testament, was when customers came up, asked questions about the content and we witness conversation around tables across people who had never met before. When people were leaving, multiple times customers asked us, since when is your company so fun? This was exactly what we needed as a company. I would HIGHLY recommend that you work with this very skilled team for any customer facing event (I'm sure they'd be SO fun as an employee event also, but I was truly amazed at their customer facing skills).
