In all sincerity, I had one of my absolute best customer service experiences at DJ's Auto Repair. I really can't recommend this shop highly enough. Here's what happened... I was coming through Little Rock, AR from Austin, TX on a road trip out to D.C. My car broke down about 15 miles east of Little Rock on an incredibly hot summer day. Not knowing anything about this shop, the tow truck dropped me and my car off at DJ's. When I got there around 1pm, stressed out from the breakdown, I immediately received attention and was told they could start working on my car the same afternoon. I told them what happened, that my engine had starting smoking while on the road, and then they told me to relax and that they would figure it out. Here's where it gets good: Don, the owner of the shop, LET ME BORROW HIS PERSONAL TRUCK SO I COULD GO GRAB LUNCH. Sorry for all caps, but really, that's correct and it still amazes me - after arriving and telling them about my situation, I asked if there were any lunch options within walking distance, and then Don handed me his keys and said "just use my truck to go wherever you want in the area while we work on your car". So, I did. After I got back from grabbing lunch in Don's truck - about two hours since first arriving at the shop - they had figured out the problem: a previous mechanic had done a poor job installing the car's water pump, which lead to the engine overheating. The repair would require several hours of labor and it was mid-afternoon, meaning that my car would need to stay overnight... so Don PERSONALLY DROVE ME TO A HOTEL in downtown Little Rock. Seriously... the guy took time out of his day to make sure I got to a hotel that was at least 10-15 miles away from the shop. It was his idea; I didn't ask for the ride, he just offered it to me, without any conditions. And the next day? He PERSONALLY PICKED ME UP FROM MY HOTEL, and DROVE ME BACK TO THE SHOP. Again, totally his idea. When we returned to the shop, they had fixed the problem, and then helped me communicate with the previous mechanic about the faulty part, which ultimately led to me being reimbursed by that previous mechanic. I was in my car that day, driving away, returning to my road trip. I have driven the car approximately 5,000 miles since then, all without issue. These guys helped get me out of a stressful situation, and everyone involved was competent, attentive, friendly, and helped make me feel cared for. And THAT is ultimately what good customer service is: making your clients feel at home doing business with you. These guys knocked it out of the park. my car died late in the day and this shop was the only place nearby that was still open and had the resources able to take my car. towed my car here and their parking was filled with vehicles. multiple tow companies called told me they recommended this shop. the shop said they'll have it diagnosed by the following day, I didn't hear from them near the end of the business day so called and they said they'll have it diagnosed and contact me the following morning, which they did. the estimated price is on the higher side for the average estimated cost. they said they could get my car done by the following day by afternoon. l ended up cancelling additional service. the part for my car already arrived and they had to return it and didn't charge me extra. I ended up just getting a diagnostic with them and they ended up charging me less then estimated. all the employees talked to was very polite and patient. they sent way too many advertising and surveys to both my phone and email after was done with service with them. even after I left reviews and feedback, they kept sending more, feels like continuous spams read more

I highly recommend this auto repair shop, first of all they are courteous and treat everyone with respect, my BMW was repaired within a hour when the dealership quoted 3 hours and about 1,000 dollars, I received a more than reasonable price and my car is now running super smooth. Moving forward I won't be taking my car to anyone else's but DJS!!! read more

Dj auto will not return my car to me. I feel I am not the only one who has been scammed cancelled my credit car payment do not want to pay more money for work undone. I was informed that car was in good running condition after a day and a half. Car stopped on me with same problem I just paid $4,700 to fix. They have around 30 cars on their lot. I feel they keep adding more problems to fixed the car and car owners just give up on getting car fixed. And they charge you $50. for storage a day without letting you know . I told you the water pump leak had already been diagnosed before you took my car in to replace it. Once the extended warranty left me owing more because of your very high price estimate than i would have owed without any warranty coverage at other non preferred shop you would not release car without me paying nearly 200 diagnostic fee. You did nothing to diagnose except pop hood and go yep its a water pump leak. I hope you lose much business as i have told many about what a ripoff your operation is. read more

Sorry, no amount of good customer service will ever make up for how badly this shop burned me. I spent almost 8000$ here getting my engine "repaired". My car was in and out of this shop for months at a time for a year and a half. No, that's not an exaggeration. I delt with being told I'd be called back in an hour than waiting a week on an constant basis. My car was smashed into by another vehicle while sitting in their parking lot. My car had a family of mice living in it for a few months as I found mouse poop throughout my car and my rear seat belts were chewed up as well. I was nothing but patient, and kind to these people. I even left a five star review after all that because I thought in the end at least my car was fixed. WRONG. I draw the line when I spend almost 8k$ somewhere, and in return I get a rusted out short block with every single bolt through threading destroyed. They made me spend thousands of dollars on a problem they caused, and then I've now spent another 7.5k$ getting it repaired from damage they caused. When I called with photos and evidence from the next shop I got a one sentence reply from the owner of this shop "Non of our parts failed we aren't responsible". This man sent me a text, after spending almost eight grand in expenses so his repairman could destroy my short block telling me to basically eat sh**. This isn't even mentioning the incorrect installation of my steering column and timing belt, and mix matched bolts which I also had to have fixed for another 1.4K. I'm posting all photos provided by Subaru to me when they found all this handiwork from DJ's. If you want an honest business working on your car this is far from it. STAY AWAY read more

I hate to make a post about any company, negatively. but if you have EVER thought about using DJ's in Sherwood, I suggest you take your pick somewhere else. Somewhere they actually care about your vehicle, and somewhere that, when or IF they mess up, they try to fix it. I took my car to DJ's in April to get fixed for the timing cover. I bought the car March 25, 2023 and put it in the shop 1-2 weeks after receiving it. Dj's apparently repaired my oil separator and my timing cover during the 3 week period they had my vehicle. 4 days after I got my car back from Don Jackson, owner of DJ's, and paid $592. (Warranty covered $1700), my car was still leaking oil. so I called DJ's and they offered to relook at it. Mike worked on my vehicle so I assume that's who relooked at my car, I'm not even sure because I was never given names until I complained. Don took me to the back and stated it was my oil pan, that was "nicked" and needed repaired and that he would fix it for another $432!!! Mind you, when the oil pain was taken off for repairs, their was NO damage to it( pictures show the oil pan after repairs-included a crack from being over tightened)-i refused, and had someone else fix it, which was also done wrong at the time of repairs. my car shut down and turned on the oil pressure light, the EPC light came on, and I couldn't do over 40 mph on May 19. so I took my car to Paulie's in NLR, wonderful by the way!!! i then, contacted DJ's and told them what happened after Paul looked at my car. the oil separator was NEVER changed, but I was charged for it. it still had the original VW separator when Paul took it apart. my cam magnets, were corroded and missing. and DJ refused to fix this or even try. he just kept telling me "call our warranty company they'll reimburse you." Which they did not, only $663 of it did they reimburse, or put towards my new parts, when my total fixes at DJ's were over 2K including warranty. Dj refuses to reimburse me what I paid out of pocket and argued with me about how the guy fixing my car would "never do something like this." I will never use DJ's again, and I hope everyone reading this, never does either. I'm not a mechanic, but I'm also not stupid, and I won't be played like it either. I got my car back 2 days ago, again, for another $1000, not including the $663 that DJ's warranty company covered. 4 different things had to be replaced/fixed. including the oil pan, upper timing cover with bracket behind it, resealing of the lower timing cover and replacing the oil separator. my car was COMPLETELY out of oil when I got to Paulies and I had just filled it with oil the previous day. DJ's should've made this right, as a CUSTOMER, and refused. Poor service, poor professionalism, and all around a poor company. I would give 0 stars if possible. read more

These guys are GREAT! We were driving cross-country in our 2016 Range Rover. Right outside of Little Rock our check engine light came on and went into restricted power mode. We limped along to find a place to stay. That night after a quick search through my warranty company, I found DJ's. They got us in first thing the next morning. Pulled codes and told us the issue. They cleared it and rechecked. All ways good. We asked what we owe and they said, "Nothing!" I was like "What!?" Now that is Southern hospitality. I took my truck in with a specific vibration in the rear end. A friend with the same truck told me to have the rear and differential housing cleaned out and filled back up with oil. I took it to these guys and asked to have that done. They performed a wild goose chase and charged me $450 for doing it. They claimed they did what I asked but another shop says it's clear they never did after two trips there asking them to do it. Another shop was able to do what I asked and it fixed the problem right up. The guys at DJs still weren't ever able to feel the vibration. This might not be a flattering review but they quite literally asked for it. read more

DJ's was one of the most professional businesses of this type that you could ever bring your car to. First off, they were swamped with work the week I called so I had to call back the next week, but they were helpful w making a scheduled drop off time for my car using their preferred towing service. The car took about 3.5 working days to get fixed but it works great now. Price was about what I expected. They even helped me w a second issue without appointment. They have a text service that keeps you up to date. It isn't the best but I've never seen anything like that anywhere else. Really cool. The owner and servicemen were very polite and helpful everytime I called or came by. I would 100% use them again. They even offered to drop or pick me up if needed. This is the only mechanic I can trust around here. They are way cheaper than the dealership and better too. Ever since I bought my pickup truck it's made a clunky noise and bringing it to the dealership mechanic they never fixed it. Finally it clunked itself to death. I brought it to DJ and they took the whole engine apart and put it back together for $4k. Now the truck doesn't clunk at all. This facility failed to successfully repair an air conditioning system on a 2017 Toyota Sienna. After breaking a part, the car was finally delivered two days after they promised delivery. Tried again about 8 months ago to have them perform a simple vehicle inspection per the checklist I provided them. They promised completion by the end of the business day, but after calling them to check at about 4 PM, they admitted the car hadn't even been in the shop yet. I told them skip it and we picked the car up later and had a more reputable shop execute the checklist. This shop is very small and has a miniscule parking lot that is absolutely choked with vehicles. I think they over-promise and under-deliver. Do not recommend. read more

I was traveling from St. Louis to Little Rock for a week of work and my Tahoe's transmission started acting up. I found a dealer along the way and they did a minimal job of looking at it. Fortunately I made it to Little Rock but all the dealerships were unable to get me in or couldn't fix it for at least a week. I looked up shops and found DJ's and called. DJ was wonderful and willing to get me in the morning after I arrived. They even covered the uber rides to and from my hotel! Sadly, I needed a new transmission. They ordered a transmission and they finished it in two days!! Amazing!!! They are very reasonably priced and provided excellent customer service!! A fantastic full service mechanic! HORRIBLE experience-DO NOT GO HERE AS YOU MAY BE SCAMMED. The only positive I can find is that the owner is nice and accommodating, and seemed to have a good rapport with other customers who came in-thank you D.J. However, unfortunately I found out the hard way that your shop is apparently actively looking out to scam people. Yes, scam people... I wish I was kidding. I came here in desperate straits (this is a pseudonym if that wasn't clear) from out of town needing urgent car repairs, and had to wait almost the entire working day, from around 9:30 am to after 5 pm, to finally speak to a mechanic, as my car was at the very bottom of the shop's huge waiting line. This mechanic finally sat down with me and gave me a laundry list of "necessary" repairs totaling something over $7,000, including a new transmission and clutch and things I knew I clearly did not need and none of which addressed the actual problem I had brought my car in for. I then had to pay over $110 (again, I can't remember the exact amount) for an inspection fee just to get my car out of this shop's clutches and to someplace else where I would not get ripped off. This mechanic accused me of taking poor care of my car and was adamant in claiming that I needed all of said repairs, or else I would not be able to make it the remaining 7 hours of my journey... needless to say, he was wrong. Once I made it to a more reputable dealership, I learned that I did not need a new transmission, or any of the other repairs he suggested. So in short, both a complete misdiagnosis and extreme overcharge. Yikes. I do not relish writing such a negative review, but I fully believe that what happened to me was a BLATANT scam job and a bold attempt to prey on someone from out of town who was in a bad spot. I'm not sure whose fault this was, or if D.J. himself was aware of what his employees were doing, but honestly, does it matter? I'm still fuming about my treatment here, including the smug attitude of the mechanic with whom I primarily talked. Perhaps locals have had better experiences with D.J.'s auto shop, but for someone who came here desperate and in a very vulnerable situation, I was absolutely 100% taken advantage of. My experience here, while limited, makes me suggest that you avoid this place at all costs if you are not already familiar with them. This guy David that works here is probably one of the nicest guys you'll meet. He was in a truck accident and still came in to work because they were short-handed. They always put the customer first! My wife has been raving about them for quite some time now, so I figured I'd check it out to see what the big deal is. My A/C valve needed to be drained. My dealership said it'd take 2hrs and it'd be $200 including diagnostics. DJ's did it in less than 30min for free. They really are great people. read more

BEWARE!! THEY JUNKED MY CAR!! They have been ripping ppl off for 43 years. They short circuited the computer module of my Acura. I took it for an alternator replacement ($600) 2 days later my car dies again. Took it back to them and they charged me another $500 to disconnect the Bluetooth system from car, they kept the car for 8 days and gave it back to me without fixing they just Broke more!! NOW i have a list of things not working : my turn signals, door locks, A/C, key fab, windshield wipers, radio and the door warning system does NOT work anymore. Now they want another $450 to pretend to fix what they broke!!! I took it somewhere. After a 3hr diagnosis said the computer module is burned out due to Improper car diagnosis and repair! I went in for an oil change, but I also needed a motor mount. I did get that done; however, I thought the labor cost was a bit high. They usually do good work, and will try to get you in and out promptly. I will continue to use them, because they are a good overall auto service. read more

We had broken down on a cross country trip 40 miles east of Little Rock on I-40 with a severe oil leak and ended up being towed to DJ's after a search on google and yelp on New Year's Eve. They diagnosed the problem by about 2pm and said they could have it fixed by end of day, even though it was a pretty major job and approaching a holiday. I had a very random dilemma... my license plate screws had rusted onto my car and subsequently broke off (with half the screw still in the hole) when I tried to remove it. I contacted DJs and the helped me out! The repair was taking longer than anticipated so they got me a ride home before my daughter and husband woke up from their naps! They fixed the license plate, were extremely friendly, and showed fantastic customer service! I will be certainly using them on the future and sending other military families their way! read more

Don and David are the people to go to when you have issues with your car. My old Taurus overheated and I had no clue what to do. I brought the car to them, and decided to wait on the couch. They kept me updated in-and-out despite being busy all the time with all the other customers, most of whom they know by name. David even offered his car for me to go for lunch during lunchtime, which I heartily appreciate. After fixing the car, they actually took it out to the Highway to make sure the issues were truly fixed. I've never seen mechanics who are so responsible! Horrible! I brought in upgraded calipers that I got as a Christmas present for the front of my Grand Cherokee. The owner called me a thief for not buying his calipers at a 50% markup and told me to leave. So I got in my Jeep (the one with the Marine Corps Combat Veteran license plate) and left. Horrible car repair experience. Beware fellow military members and veterans, this business prays off of your hard earned income and they don't stop until they siphen every last penny from you. It all started when I left my wife's SUV with this company to have the back transmission repaired with a cost estimate repair of $1,200. My wife's vehicle was down in the shop for 2 months waiting in their shop to receive the proper parts to fix it....the car was still not fixed and I was tasked for a military deployment which took me away from home for the next 4 1/2 months. During this time frame DJ's said they had tried to contact my wife about additional costs that would increase my repair bill to over $3,000. They did not contact my wife, this was a complete lie, because the number they said they had tried to call was my phone number and my phone was with me during my military deployment. DJ's will quote you one price and charge you an all together different one, a true batch and switch car repair tactic. This company is a complete scam and is in business to rip off average consumers. Please do yourself a favor and keep your car as far way from this company and their corrupt business practices. read more
