I took my 2015 Camaro here to get the air conditioner fixed...the ripped me off on the price the dealer ship was 200 cheaper...then my floor in the car flooded out the day i drove it bc it wasnt checked properly to make sure it was draining. The stabili track popped on when i picked the car up... had to take it to another shop to get my stern wheel recalibrated. I made an appointment to have a simple TOE adjustment on a vehicle that completed a three year restoration. The appointment was not logged into the data base. The individual I dealt with refused to service the truck, I told him the truck will not leave the lot for a test drive etc. He stated that they ate required to test drive every vehicle which is a lie.... considering I have had previously had service work for identical work on another vehicle and no test drives were performed. Cantrell Service Center's lack of professionalism and communication is very disappointing. I had used this mechanic for major car repairs in the past and was planning on continuing to give them my business, however, this latest incident has made it clear that there are much better mechanics in the Little Rock area. I scheduled an appointment with them for Tuesday, July 16th and took my car in promptly at 8 am. Shortly after I had dropped it off, I received a call saying that they had ordered the incorrect parts for my car and that I needed to reschedule my appointment for Monday, July 22. While frustrated, I know that mistakes happen and I patiently accepted the new date and picked up my car again. Come Monday morning, I received a call at 8 am from Dennis asking if I was still bringing my car in today and that they had all the parts in and ready to go. I returned the call as soon as I was able to do so and told Leon that the earliest I would be able to drop the car off was between 2 and 3 pm. I arrived around 2:30 pm and attempted to drop off my car for the rescheduled date and was told that the appointment had been rescheduled yet again to Friday, July 26. I double checked my call log and informed them that I had received absolutely no communication between when Dennis called me at 8 am and when I brought it in at 2:30 pm. Their only response was that they had left me a voicemail and that I needed to come back on Friday. There is no voicemail letting me know that they rescheduled and canceled my appointment. Cantrell Service Center's poor communication and subsequent wasting of my time earns one star. read more

I stopped using this business about a decade and a half ago. This is because: on different occasions, they were told of vehicle issues (e.g. engine hesitating, replace damaged spare tire, etc.), charged for the services, but failed to actually perform the work. The failure to perform the tune-up left me stranded in rural Arkansas, and my boss had to rescue me. Perhaps things have changed, but they totally destroyed any trust. I had my recently purchased used car inspected there with an oil change. They found major problems with the engine that I didn't know about. They were very nice, service is top notch and I felt like they were being honest with me every step of the way. But when they gave me an estimate for repairs I noticed that they were charging me $80/hour for labor. Yikes! That's a lot for me. I feel like they gave great advice and were very helpful and professional, but I think their labor prices are a bit high so I'm going to shop around. read more

I love this place! The folks who work here are nice, patient, and (to the best of my ability to judge), competent. I have been bringing my car and my boyfriend's car here since we moved to Little Rock and have had nothing but positive experiences - including one time they had us go elsewhere (the dealer, ugh) to save US time/money, but themselves lost out on a 'sale.' They always take the time to explain everything and answer any questions that I have. The prices are reasonable and the car is *always* ready on time or early. They have a shuttle for drop offs and pick ups and it has always been ready when they told me it would be ready. Today, when I took my car in for an oil change, I asked if they could remove the substantial amount of tar on my windshield (thanks Highway Department!) and they did so, free of charge. They charged me for the inspection, even though they weren't able to determine what was wrong. They suggested that they MIGHT be able to find the problem if they checked my suspension (for $1100), even though my car should be at least 30,000-50,000 miles away from needing that. They also told me I needed new tires, even though I just had new tires put on exactly 12 months ago. (When I told him that, he backpedaled and said, "Oh, maybe you don't.) On 12/9/2020 I was on a long-distance trip from northwest Ohio returning to Sacramento, California, towing our new travel trailer. The dreaded "check engine" light came on and luckily, CANTRELL SERVICE CENTER was two minutes from the KOA I was spending the night at. At 7AM on 12/10 I arrived at CANTRELL's, the tech checked my tow vehicle and determined the problem was a dirty mass air flow sensor. He cleaned that and one or other things, road checked it and I was on my way to Sacramento two hours later. Fast, excellent service - and HONEST. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND CANTRELL SERVICE CENTER. I was driving back to Houston, Texas from Springfield, Illinois and planned to stop over night in Little Rock because it's about half way. I took my dogs to the park after a long day in the car and when it was time to leave the park my car wouldn't start. Bummer. Fortunately I found an Uber driver that was willing to take me and my four legged friends to the place we were staying for the night. When 7 am rolled around I called Cantrell's and explained my situation - that I was on a long road trip and had planned leave Little Rock that morning. They recommended a towing company and said they'd look at it as soon as they could. I got a call from them around 11 am to tell me they thought it was the ignition coil / distributor and were waiting on parts to confirm that my car would start once those were replaced. They called back just after noon to say my car was fixed and I was back on the road around 1pm. I can think of a lot of ways that this experience could have been slower and more expensive and not too many ways that it could have been faster or cheaper so I'm a happy Yelper once again and would happily use Cantrell's again. P.S. Just in case anyone has this exact problem, the one thing I would do differently if this happened again is to have my car towed at night instead of waiting for morning. Towing companies are very busy during the morning rush hour and it took about 3.5 hours after calling the towing company for my car to reach Cantrell's. read more

My car completely broke down on Thanksgiving of all days while I was visiting from Austin, TX. I had the car towed to Cantrell Service Center simply because it was close by. I am so glad I did! When I called them the next morning (Friday), I was told by Chuck that they probably wouldn't even be able to look at it until Monday (he was understandably very short handed, with it being Thanksgiving weekend). This was very stressful, as I needed to head back to Texas on Sunday! With it being the holidays, most other shops were closed (although Chuck did provide the phone number to the nearby Dodge dealership. They didn't even answer the phone. And even to this day, they never returned my voice message.), so I told Chuck to just try and get to it as soon as he could, and meanwhile, I made arrangements to take a bus back to Austin. :( I figured I would have to come back and pick up the car next week.... But, at 6:00pm (closing time!) that SAME day, I got a phone call from Chuck! Not only had they looked at the car, but they had already fixed it! I was over the moon. He allowed me to give him my credit card info over the phone (since they were just about to close, and I was about 20 minutes away), and I was able to pick up the car at my convenience later that night. The repair did turn out to be somewhat minor, but it was surprisingly affordable and I was thrilled to have it repaired so quickly on a holiday weekend. I would definitely recommend this shop to people in the Little Rock area. I only wish the shop was in Austin, TX so I could use them more often, if I have any more car trouble! read more

I took my truck here for a couple years for some major work. They replaced most of my front end and timing assembly, and I never had any subsequent problems in the 5 years I kept the truck afterwards. The cost for this work was pretty high, but not too much higher than any other good local shop. One of the technicians rode along with me to diagnose what turned out to be a misfire and gave me all the information I needed to do the work myself. This was either free or cheap enough to forget. They attempted to diagnose an intermittent fault with my starter relay, but were unable to find it. I paid the diagnostic fees for this, which were kind of high for no results. I can't complain too much, as the problem was kind of obscure, but after an automotive electrician found it immediately for cheaper, I was a little miffed. Overall, I was pretty content with the work they did for me. Customer service was good and they explained things to me fairly completely when I asked. read more

I have an 18 year old truck and drive about 5,000 miles a year. I have gone to other high quality auto centers and they have fixed my vechile but at a high cost. I was looking for other auto repair centers and after asking around at work, Cantrell Service Center was recommended. I thought my power steering was going out so, I made an appointment with Cantrell at 7 am the next day. When I arrived I was asked what was needed for my truck and gave them my contact information. They drove me to work using their van service (A Great Service for the working stiffs). A few hours later I received a call from Chuck and he told me the results of their inspection and told me that they could fix it for around $500. The power had gone out in the area for a few hours but was restored around 3 pm that day. I received a call 10 minutes before 5 pm and was told the truck was ready. They sent their van to pick me up from my work. When I arrived Chuck told me that the part they replaced was half the cost they originally quoted me since I had bought the part a few years ago from NAPA which had a warranty on it. Today is my 3rd experience with Cantrell Service Center. I am pleased. The technicians are thorough, knowledgable, and most importantly genuine. My dealership was influencing me to purchase services that weren't necessary, so I chose CSC for my routine oil changes and maintenance. They don't try to upsell, they simply give you the facts and lay out your best options. My only complaint is I wish they had a bigger facility and more employees so I could get in and out faster, but don't we all. read more

I was very disappointed with Cantrell Service Center. Though this was only my second time to take a vehicle to them -- the first repair simply being a new tire and rim -- I will never return. I recently bought a used 2004 Chevy Blazer. Previous owner said the Fuel Pump had been replaced yet I started having some issues with Fuel and Power to the engine. I towed my vehicle to CSC. Received a call within 24 hours from Chuck stating that the Fuel Pump was measuring 10 PSI below what it was supposed to -- though no further checks regarding clogging or improper seating were done -- and that the Radiator Housing was also damaged. I was quoted a price of over $1,000 for the repair and a diagnostic fee -- that was conveniently never mentioned -- of $91. I returned the next day with my father-in-law, who is understandably more knowledgeable than I am about cars. My father-in-law asked Chuck some questions regarding his Fuel Pump pricing that I would like to break down here: 2004 Chevy Blazer Fuel Pump: $300~ *3 HOUR* Labor Fee: $300~ Chuck's pricing regarding a 2004 Chevy Blazer Fuel Pump was a blatant lie. Stating over $300 -- I can not remember the exact number -- for a Fuel Pump. I was quoted at a local competitor below half the price at $121. Furthermore, Chuck told me it would take over 3 hours for his team to replace my Fuel Pump. I was also quoted a price over $300 for labor. I will assume the diagnostic fee is the hourly fee (about $90 an hour). 3 hours of work at 90 dollars an hour would run $270. I am unaware how Chuck came to these numbers but I can assume it's safe to say he was ripping me off because of my lack of knowledge of cars. I was able to take my car to the local competitor and have it repaired there. CSC was correct about the Radiator Housing, however, they were completely incorrect about the Fuel Pump. Apparently when the Fuel Pump was installed the Gas Canister was not seated correctly and therefore, the Fuel Pump could not consistently pump fuel out of the Gas Canister. Instead of even checking the most basic stuff, CSC wants to replace the whole thing and charge out the ass. I will never return here and I will ensure other locals from Maumelle and North Little Rock know the shady business they are conducting. read more

After much searching on the websites of National Auto Resalers, without success, I located a beautiful 2011 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited on Autotrader.com. The car had all of the amenities sought by our daughter, was perfect for our needs and had just been received by the Dealer as a trade-in. Given it's age, apparent condition, amenities and color, I suspected that it would sell very quickly. Unfortunately, it was in Little Rock and we live in Texas and my husband insisted on an inspection by an independent mechanic before purchasing the car. I called a representative at Angie's List and explained my dilemna. She provided the names and telephone numbers of 2 Auto Service Centers near the Dealership, having all "A" Ratings on Angie's List and numerous glowing reviews. Chuck, at Cantrell's took my call and arranged for a service appointment the following morning, in spite of their full calendar. Although he was unable to accomodate my appointment that afternoon (understandably so, given that it was already midday when I called), he contacted another Service Center that he endorsed as reputable to see if they could accomodate a same day appointment. They too were booked for the day, so we agreed to proceed as originally planned. Chuck called me upon arrival of the car and after the pre-purchase inspection, advising of results over the telephone followed by a written report. He would not accept payment until after the service was performed. Within an hour, the car passed inspection readily and we arranged for purchase. The entire process (from initial conversation with Chuck to purchase) took 24-hours in spite of the fact that we required independent inspection and live in another state. My husband flew to Little Rock the following morning and purchased the car with confidence that it was as mechanically sound as it was attractive. I endorse Cantrell Service Center and Chuck in particular as professional, friendly, curteous and EXTREMELY service oriented. He was willng to work "outside of the box" to satisfy a customer, regardless of how unusual/inconvenient the request. I have never had such a pleasant car purchase experience. read more
