He was wonderful, very knowledgable, shot me straight, and was super laid back and easy to work with. I agreed to a new roof installation, as mine was broaching the 20 year marker, and I knew there were issues starting to arise. The financing was really remarkable, warranties bar none, roof itself was Tier 3, and Paul called his supervisor while with me, to welcome me to the "Home Genius Family." All in all, I felt impressed, and confident I made a sound choice. The night before the install, Tom, the project manager, contacted me. He informed me of the time the roofers would arrive, and cautioned that while I was told it was a 5 hour job, it might take longer cuz the weather was not the best. I totally understood, and the day of the install, the roofers were on time and worked till about 230pm. I had left for a minute, but Tom had told me that progress photos would be sent because he was going to be stopping by. When the roofers left, they ended up trapping the roof because they were unable to finish on time. Tom called me that evening, apologized, and stated the weather was a bulk of the reason, and if the weather continued to be shabby the following day, they may have to hold off, but assured me he would text in the AM to let me know. He also stated he had come by while I was out, twice, and took progress photos. I never received them after we disconnected, which leads me to believe he may not have actually come out, as he did state while we talked he was feeling under the weather. The following day came and went and I did not receive any communication, and no one arrived. I ended up texting Tom @ 10pm because I could hear hail in the pipe connecting to my water heater, since all I had was a tarp for a roof, lol. He responded "absolutely, it will be done tomorrow, and I'll be doing my final walk through with you tomorrow (this was promised in the agreement, that the project manager would do a finally walk through and inspection)." The next day came, and by 10am, still no roofers. I messaged Tom and got a vague "they will be getting it done today!" I work from home, was training a new coworker, and reached out to Tom again for a more stable time frame, so I could adjust around the noise. He said "I'm hoping 12-1." They ended up showing up at 11am. The roofers were very kind, but from Honduras and did not speak any English. Which isn't a big deal, but for communication, especially with no project manager on site, it was a bit rough at times. One gent had a translator on his phone, so he'd show me the English translation, which was helpful. Another thing that was a bit...weird, was there was no Porta Pot set up outside, so once one of the roofers asked to use the restroom, the others fell in line and on both days, I had knocks on the door continuously, asking to use the rest room. I wasn't too concerned, but thought it was a bit unprofessional, since most construction jobs on homes, a toilet is provided by the company for the workers, to alleviate discomfort on either end. At the end of the 2nd day, the roof was installed, and the gents all rotated in to use the restroom before they left. When my daughter went to use the bathroom a while later, she yelled at me to come and look, and the sink stopper was jammed into the drain, with a sludge of dirty water in the sink. I attempted to use the metal rod under the sink to dislodge the stopper, but it was jammed. I contacted Tom (who I still had not met or seen) he texted back and said he was 2.5 hours away, but could swing by and fix it later in the evening. He mentioned the metal bar under the sink and I let him know I knew what it was for, but the workers had jammed it in pretty good and the lever was not working. He did state the company would pay for any repairs, which was good. I did eventually get it dislodged, and Tom stated he would be by the next AM to do a fly over the house with a drone, and the final walk through. Suffice to say, he never contacted me, and the final walk through was never completed. I still don't know who Tom is, lol, but the roof does look great, and the warranties cover it till the cows come home, so even if the job was shoddy, I'm covered. The lack of communication from the project manager, and the language barrier with the roofers made for a not so shiny experience, but, overall, I'm satisfied that my home has been fortified.

The project manager made several attempts to replace it himself and ended up replacing by putting on a 4" cap for a 6" vent pipe. After that, the PM and Shell in general will not answer my phone calls. I'm hope the roof was installed correctly since it is proven I will not be able to get Shell to fix any problems with their work.

Says he's local (Sharpsburg) but is based out of Ohio including crew. Says they themselves would do job. First day goid. Second day, no call, but owner and 1 crew member showed up late and explained that cew is "sick", meanwhile I have half my roof off. Promised not to worry, they will take goid care of me. 2 guys on roof for a few hours then said they'd be back. Went to get ladder, etc. No one came back/called. Owner then said he was going away for 3 weeks and rest of cree not coming back because of serious personal issues. That was a tuesday. No call/no show til Saturday when I hear 4 guys outside. Bob Romea hired 2nd rate sub team that did property damage, mails everywhete. Garbage etc. They worked a few hours. Said they were "too cold". Left without explanation. By 12/24, I call another roofer to step in. Bob Romea (3,000 miles away) insists his sub team can and will complete the job. I wanted to hire another roofing company because their work was so deficient in every way and just eat the $5k I gave him. He absolutely refused said he sue me. Then it's raining/snowing in my attic where all my electrical is. Positively raining at night in a dark attic you could see it, on electrical/wood/insulation etc. Did damage to my bricks. Tried to oaint flashing instead of replace it as contracted. He threatened to sue me if I bailed and went to another roofer. Roofer examined and wrote report on so many defiviencies. Every lawyer I contacted said to sue him. All that I wanted was a quality job which I said from beginning. Turns out, F rating by BBB. 3 unresolved complaints. He wrote a statement that if rood didn't pass inspection, he would rip it out and start over. Mailed me statement then denied then said he couldn't find anyone to inspect roof. He tried to make so many corrections but job is horrible. Another consultant wrote another report, deficient. Took 6 weeks to complete a 2 day job. He yelled at me the whole time. I almost had a nervous breakdown. Got cited by City of PGH, no permit. It was hell. Swore this never hapoened before, but had serious xomplaints against him. I filed a complaint against his insuranxe company for all of the property damage. They "lost" it. Still haven't hears. I documented everything. Took pics. Can prove everything I say. Worst part was hiw he treated and yelled at me when I was so stressed out. Only goid guy was Chris, but he got pulled from jon so second rate sub crew could finish. Still problems with roof, no inspection, etc. Now he refuses my calls even though I paid him the entire amount. I regret hiring him. They did absulute crap work and never completed contract. I would rate a negative number if I could. My experience was horrendous with Bob Romea Roofing Middle Street Sharpsburg pa. What good is his warranty if he wont take my calls. Stopped trying months ago. Stay away!!

The flashing around the edge of the roof blew off-some is lifting up due to lack of screws and only half of our gutter brackets are on; *(the rest are laying IN the gutter) We called and left a message for them to come and check this warrantied roof out. No response. Today we called and were told we needed to provide our contract. I have this at home in our files so I responded-can you please pull this up on your end? We were told they dont keep this kind of record?? WTH? IM ASSUMING THEY PAY BUSINESS TAXES??? I was able to pull up the paid receipts in my email: $11,412 and $5187 We shared those but were told that if there was an issue with damage from wind; etc....they wont help with that.
