DJ Chris was fantastic for our daugther's Bat Mitzvah. He went above and beyond throughout our planning and the night of the event. During planning phase, Chris took the time to meet us personally to review our plan and ideas for the evening and was always available when we had questions during the planning. The night of the event he was great! Super attentive to helping make announcements and such, got the crowd going on the dance floor when we were ready and wasn't shy about encouraging the group to participate in some traditional songs. His overall song choice was great, knowing what to play, when, to keep people dancing and such. We booked DNA Entertainment for our wedding at the Perry House in August 2015. They were a preferred vendor, and we were excited to check out their reviews online. They were very easy to work with, and we were able to set up an appointment several months before the wedding to go over package options with our DJ. We ended up choosing the DJ that we met with, John, and he was very communicative throughout the whole process. Music was really important to us as it really does set the mood for the entire event, and we were so pleased with everything. We had asked our guests if they had any song requests, so I had created a document with songs that we definitely wanted played during the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. John was super responsive and willing to go with some of our outside of the box ideas (We did a mashup of two songs for our first dance). DNA did a wonderful job at our wedding in August. They were very easy to work with through e-mail, met our DJ the week of the wedding, and they did a great job. We had DNA do the music for our July 2013 wedding. They were one of the two required DJs for our reception venue, The Perry House, and since I was really passionate about the music being perfect, I was concerned. I shouldn't have been. Jason was our DJ, and he and I had long conversations about exactly what music should be played. I sent him a list of 4 hours of music that he made the PERFECT playlist out of. Also, we had our ceremony at another location, and DNA did TWO locations for less money than other DJs would do just one. They were amazing, personable, and a ton of fun! read more

The morning after our wedding we are pleased to have had Mario dj and mc our special day. He was very hands on with personalization of songs requested and special dances. He made sure to check with my husband and I before transitioning into the next phase of the reception. Last minute we decided to change up some of the dances and toast arrangements and he was more than happy to accommodate the changes. He made sure to check on everyone and see if there was anything he could do. I found out later he even asked if he could help set up the catering tables. He used names of our bridal party instead of referring to them by their role in the wedding. There was a good variety of music and culturally diverse to accommodate our two families joining as one. Considering our wedding was a pretty last minute event, it seemed to not be a problem with the short notice. We live in Sacramento and got married in Monterey. There was a checklist of options and questionnaire to complete to make it easy to plan the music portion. I would definitely recommend DNA (Mario specifically) if you're needing a great dj in the Monterey area. read more

DNA was awesome! From the moment that we contacted them about our wedding we have had excellent service. Anthony has always responded to my emails and calls immediately, any time I had questions he answered them. We felt that the pricing was appropriate for all of the services they provided. Once we began working with Darion we experienced the exact same service. It is quite refreshing to find a company that holds their services to high standards these days. We were making changes to the music literally up to the last day and we always got the same answer "no problem". On our wedding day I didn't have time to worry about whether the DJ was going do a good job or not and everything they did leading up to the day gave me that confidence that we would have no problems. I did not worry once about the DJ. The ceremony ran smoothly and without a flaw, it was beautiful. At the reception we had to make changes to our introductions and thank goodness Darion came to us to make sure it was correct or I would have never realized the errors until it had been too late. I really appreciated his attentiveness through the entire reception. He interacted well with the guests and accommodated their song requests. We have only received compliments on the entire event and I felt that besides our wedding coordinator, Darion was a very large part of that success. Jon Belmont made my reception in Carmel, CA perfect. From his timing with our bridal party song to the last dance, it was a night to remember. Every time I looked at the dance floor, it was filled with my family and friends dancing and laughing. I don't think we made his job particularly easy - we gave him a lot of input on the types of music/songs we didn't want to have for the reception, but we didn't have strong feelings about exactly what we wanted him to play. We recently got married in Monterey and DNA Entertainment was provided our DJ and some equipment for a slide show. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They promised a DJ and LIGHTING for our event, then delayed and delayed sending us a contract, on average took 3-4 days to even return an email or a phone call making an event coordinator FRANTIC then tried to slip in a different DJ than had been promised, and double booked and gave the DJ promised to us, and booked him to another gig, last minute. THEN presumed to be 'no big deal' all our DJ's are great, after he insisted this was 'THE GUY" to make our night - and then completely CANCELLED US, probably because no one wanted to work for him, last minute. Without even the courtesy of a phone call ---- but rather uncourageously by email, again, days delayed --- leaving our event without lighting or music only three days to spare. GOOD OLD IPOD and nice speakers, saved the day. And, since we do have resources and we are a professional organization, when I called our local community of DJ's who were all unfortunately booked, they apologized for the unprofessionalism of DNA, but stated, THEY ARE KNOWN FOR DOING THIS TO OTHERS, all over town --- taking higher paying clients and bumping out or cancelling the smaller events last minute. ITS GREEDY AND UNPROFESSIONAL, and all we could think of is WHAT IF -- WE ARE A TEARFUL BRIDE COUNTING on this lighting and music to create the memory of a lifetime? THEN having them dump the wedding last minute, leaving a bride beyond panic? For this reason, I am compelled to do my best to warn anyone out there - DO NOT USE Anthony from DNA for anything! I am the third professional event planner who said they experienced the same! NO GO on these guys, plenty of resources out there, willing, reliable and professional. Make a better choice and leave this one alone. read more

DNA Entertainment and our DJ Evan Parker were wonderful to work with. They were professional and responsive the whole way through. Evan did an amazing job DJ'ing our wedding. We were so happy with how the music turned out - everything was perfectly cued, perfect volume and perfect flow. It was hands down the best DJ'ing we have experienced at a wedding! We got so many compliments on the music and how professional it was. The only music we had pre-chosen were our important songs and some pre-ceremony songs, and he did a great job of filling the dinner and cocktail hour with music that had a similar feel and was perfect for the ambience. For the dancing portion of the evening, we had been worried that our guests weren't really going to be too into dancing, but he kept everyone dancing the entire time because every song he put on was one of those "I HAVE to dance to this" kinds of songs. Our guests really had a great time! Evan was also great as the MC and with giving reminders to guests about making sure to take home a favor and some other things. He had great energy! I think it took such an amazing, outstanding, absolutely PERFECT occurrence for me to write my first Yelp review. Alas, it has happened and nonetheless for my wedding last weekend in Big Sur. Jason from DNA was unbelievable. Seriously, he was the most professional, cool, easy to deal with person I could have imagined. Not only were we talking like we were friends leading up to the wedding, but his DJ skills actually stole the show for our wedding reception. Jason and I went back and forth on the playlist a few times and he absolutely nailed it. I had more people than I can count come up to me that night and the next day to tell me how awesome he was. And this from a group of people who are very picky with their music. The mixing was flawless, timing perfect and he read the crowd perfectly. I honestly didn't know how perfect a DJ would be for my wedding (we were set on a band for a long time), but all I can do is thank him so much for the work he put into his performance, and the way it was done. I would undoubtedly, whole-heartedly, recommend Jason and his DJ'ing/MC'ing skills for any occasion. Thank you from us both Jason. It was flawless. We were referred to DNA by our wedding venue and met with them in the planning stages of our wedding. They were very nice and we were even able to meet with Jon who was who we thought we wanted for our DJ. After meeting with him, we booked him right away and he ended up being wonderful! Both Jon and Anthony were perfect during the whole process. We couldn't decide on how we wanted the grand entrance to be announced and Jon was so nice about it even though we made it harder for him because we met with him literally right before the grand entrance and he had to write down all of these nicknames we wanted him to use for our wedding party. He couldn't have been nicer about it and was very good at winging it. He announced it perfectly and everyone thought it was funny. He played all of the music that we like to hear and guests commented about what a great DJ we picked. I would highly recommend using DNA and Jon as your DJ if you want everything to go smoothly and feel at ease during your event! read more

We had DNA Entertainment for our wedding at the Perry House at the end of October. Our DJ was Jason and he was perfect. Just perfect. I had to plan our wedding in Monterey from Seattle and I just couldn't do everything. We met with him once, he gave us a very thorough, very easy to follow printout (what kind of processional music we want, first dance (yes/no, what music), father-daughter dance (yes/no, what music), when would be the toast, who would give the toast, what music to play during it etc). DNA Entertainment makes it very easy for you and a great evening will be guaranteed! Jason was very relaxed, very attentive to our requests and he was absolutely great during the wedding. He was flexible to changes in the wedding program (it happens to everyone!) and he played great music! I have a bunch of pictures of ladies dancing bare feet! We really loved him. I prohibited three songs from playing and of course guests asked him to play them but until I gave him my verbal permission he held the fort! :) Thanks to Jason I have to say that the wedding went really smooth and pleasant. read more
