I received a call before the appointment and heard two things that suggested they weren't the right company for me. First, during the phone call I was encouraged to read the material they'd sent me in the mail describing in detail the specific services they offered. That was a red flag for me because we had not yet established what specific service would be the best solution for my specific need. In fact, during the visit, the Woodford person ended up proposing a contract for a service that did not match the pre-printed material they'd wanted me to read. In other words, the company was initially focused on specific solutions before they had determined the problem. Second, during the call the 5% discount for same-day signing of the contract at the time of the visit was mentioned. That was also a red flag for me because it indicated that they didn't want the kind of customer who evaluates multiple options and then selects the best fit. During the visit, the Woodford person made it clear that he was not familiar with the three or four sentences I had written at the Woodford web site to describe my problem in the first place. That seemed to indicate a basic flaw in the operation of the business. I would be wary of this company.

Wow! What a truly great experience working with this local family company. My husband and I knew…read morethat we needed to redo the insulation and drainage in our basement and researched local companies. We were impressed with what we heard and read about Wilcox Basement Systems so contacted them for an estimate. After a very thorough inspection of our basement and a very detailed explanation of options, we decided to schedule them to redo the insulation in our basement with the basement to beautiful system. We also had a dehumidifier and a new sump pump with drainage added. One thing I loved about them is they showed up when they said they would, on time, and put in full days to make sure the job was getting done in a timely manner. Anne kept me up-to-date by text every single day to let me know what they'd completed and what was next in the queue. All interactions I had with every member of the family who worked at my home was genuine and pleasant. Additionally, even though they ran into an unexpectedly thick basement floor and had to use a special tool for the trench in the basement, they still somehow managed to finish on time.. Another thing I found very impressive is they actually left any space they used cleaner than they found it. My basement floor and the basement windows were immaculate when the job was finished. They used our garage to cut the insulation boards on a day when it was quite rainy and swept out our entire garage; not just any insulation bits that happened to fall on the floor...the entire floor! There's always a certain level of mess when you're having any type of renovation done, especially if you have cement jackhammered, but the amount of cleaning I had to do afterwards was minimal in part due to the fact that they took precautions to try to keep the rest of my house as clean as possible, and contain the mess to only the basement (which they then cleaned as soon as the job was done). I can't recommend this company highly enough! I know we will be enjoying the work they did for many many years to come and I appreciate the quality job they did.
